Hi everyone. Better late than never on checking in, right? I was happy with the scale this morning; I was afraid the stress "sweet" eating would show up. I suppose it still might. Granddaughter is still okay after her fever induced seizure, and the motorcyclist who pulled out in front of me on the highway called tonight and he is okay. Thank God! Too much stress this week. Telling myself a day at a time. A week from now, hopefully, I can breathe easy. Working out is good for the stress and keeping balanced eating contributes to a clear mind, so I'm resolved to take good care of myself. -- wish I was going on a cruise (,,,,smile....) Hope you have a great trip Brooklynborn--sounds WONDERFUL!
*Happy Birthday, Susan!
*I'm right with you, LOGOULD, on the up and down daily weight..stays in range, but it's closer to the high end than the low...always.
*There are no bad sparkers...Laura...are there? It will be better today-positive self talk only! We all stray from time to time, and you owned it, so you are ready to move on. Today will be a better day!
*Enjoy your cruise, Brooklyn!
*Oh, Mandy...the ramen...that is one food I have successfully banned myself from...so salty, and I couldn't believe how much fat they can cram into those little delicious packages. :) I've been having my own battle with salt lately-craving it like nobody's business.
*Kitty- feel better!
*ONEWEIGH- that dinner sounds great!
I'm up .4, but still in range. Yesterday was so busy, and I didn't get my ST in. Did my bi-monthly chores/shopping for my home-bound grandma yesterday, and she had several little busy-work things for me that make me crabby at the end of my day...I just wanted to go home and do my own chores when my work day was over and take time for me! I feel so selfish about that sometimes, but I'm starting to get irritated with other things taking over my usual schedule of MWF strength training. BF and I might be working on stacking firewood tonight though, and that can definitely satisfy me for the exercise and strength training :)
Have a great day, everyone!

I really enjoy reading through everyone's success and struggle living life maintaining a long sought-after goal weight. It makes me feel like I'm certainly not alone, when many days I feel utterly alone with this challenge.
My struggle daily is snacking. Mainly night-time snacking. I would like to be perfect each day and be done with food after supper dishes are done. I rarely meet that goal. Can I do 4 of the 7 days perfectly? If I start with Sunday of this week I will have 2 perfect days under my belt. Ahhh... I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm half-way there! Confidence restored!
Great men are said to have four things in common: they speak softly, have a capacity for hard work, a deep conviction for their cause, and a consuming belief in their ability to do it.

Good Morning folks.. I've started off this week feeling very tired and I think it's due to my arthritis flaring. I'm still exercising, but modified to body energy until this tiredness passes.. weight still on target this am..
Reached goal weight 112 lbs November 23, 2012
Amanda--I also love ramen but rarely eat it because of the sodium...it's just not as good without the salty seasoning packet! I'm down a pound this morning and crampy of gut. I was really proud of myself last night because I got home and got cooking! I made grits and greens casserole for dinner (plus 2 servings left over), roasted all the carrots that had been languishing in my produce bin (two servings for diinner and one left over) and then after dinner made beef barley soup for tonight when we need a quick dinner and another meal. I didn't sit down until after 8, but it was worth it for the sense of accomplishment.
Fighting a bad head cold that came out of nowhere! YUCK.

I'm going to succeed because I'm crazy enough to think I can!
DGC thought it would be fun if grandpa and grandma would take them to school on our harleys - so off to pick them up this morning and transport them. Hope I don't get too cold - thank God for warm showers after. Kicking back this month, finishing out the year, hopefully realtively stress free.
Weight is down this morning. Finally got rid of the water bloat from the Ramen Noodles that I ate on Sunday. I love that stuff! I only buy one package at a time to keep myself in check. Set the alarm to get up and get on the treadmill this morning, but my bed was so warm I just couldn't get out! That means I will have to get on later. Thinking about giving it a go while my pork chops are in the oven. That is 30-45 minutes that is usually spent either cleaning house or on the couch playing on my phone. We shall see...
I'll make it to the moon, if I have to crawl.

Sue – Happy Birthday!
Cat – Good news on your continued recovery.
Tortoise – Good job at the party
Logould – Nice mileage and it’s only Dec 4th.
Suzy - That 2 lbs is very likely temporary.
I’m pulling everything out of my closet to pack for the trip. Layers and flexibility is the plan. Most important - I’m taking 3 pair of sneakers – just in case. The black pair will be my “dinner” shoes. I wear pants anyway and given the average age on these cruises, I won’t be the only one in comfortable footwear. Then I have one pair for walking and one for running. My goal is to run a few miles in each country (Switzerland, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
Weight is holding in toward the bottom of goal range. Workouts this week will be short and light

The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.
I always struggle at this time of year as so many of us do. I have found that I have to weigh myself 2 or 3 times a week to keep a close eye on my weight and "take it from there'. Currently, I'm about 6 pounds over but I know why and am correcting the situation.
Hang touch everyone, Pat
I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, NOTHING & NOBODY will hold me down. I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.
Party food is the worst, Tortoise! Why do people think that melted Velveeta and breadcrumbs enhance an appetizer?
Anyway, I'm annoyed. No sooner do I vow to keep my weight right at goal and start watching every calorie, than I eat part of a baked potato (no butter, no sour cream, just salt and pepper) and gain 2 pounds! It never fails. I think I might salt baked potato more than I salt things normally. Or maybe it has nothing to do with the baked potato! Even if we had degrees in nutrition, I don't think it would be easy to finetune your weight.

I was a bad Sparker last night. I skipped my workout for no good reason, and snacked right up until I went to bed. Consequently, I'm not in the best of moods today. Garbage in, garbage out! I'll have to suck it up, do a make-up workout, and scale back my eating.
Happy Birthday Susan!
Trying to get December off to a good start. Weight is up and down daily. but in range. Need to get this stress/emotional eating under control. Have done four straight days of 10 mins and 1 mile or more of fitness (actually 10.5 miles so far) for the month and will try to hit the gym between work and lighting practice tonight. We'll see.

Today plans to be a full, exhausting, but fun day. I play for our varsity show choir which is touring all 7 of our grade schools today. Seven performances starting at 8:15 through 3:00 with a lunch break. It is very fun to watch this expert group and with this tour, it's fun watching the excitement of the grade school students. Not much time for an exercise workout but plenty of calories will get burned throughout the day.
Have an awesome day, everyone

Sorry about your tumble, Cat. Great you are back to it today.
Went to a holiday party last night and enjoyed myself. Moderately! For some reason parties inspire me lately to be very mindful of what I am eating and imbibing. The food was good last night so I ate. But have you ever noticed how bad some party food is? Not worth it at all. So i felt great partaking in good knowing i will be skipping holiday junk.
Have a great day!

Happy birthday, Sue! :)
Well, I was able to sleep well last night, so I'm ready for my run with my group this morning. Fortunately, it will only be 3 miles, so that will be a nice post-tumble distance for me. Thursday and Friday will be 6 mile runs.
My face is now scabbed over, and my left knee is getting that way, so at least I don't have to stress so much about changing dressings anymore. Hooray!
The weight is back down, but I've also cut back on my eating a bit, so that helped. I get my body composition measured on Thursday, so we'll see what that looks like as well.
Anyhow, I'd better get dressed and drink some water so I'm not late for my group. Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!

it has to get better, right? nothing awful, just missed a deadline for a client yesterday (why can't they write *that* day, instead of the next day), and now i saw that i missed the weigh-in for the in-between challenge yesterday, too. and today is my birthday...
well, it has to get better... yesterday *was* a good one - 5.5 mile run, plus two extra walks to finish off the day at 7 miles. nutrition did well, maybe a bit of extra snacking, but today's morning weight was great, low end of my range. and i knocked off several of those "to do" things that have been weighing me down, did not want to think of them today.
so moving on now! hope everyone has a great day ahead!
