After a lot of thinking and too many carbs (though still in range...just too many for comfort for me!), I realized that I needed to cut back a bit on my cardio exercise and do a bit more strength training, because when I was trying to add strength training on TOP of everything I'm already doing, I was just getting too worn out and not focusing on what I need to focus on. My balance was definitely out of whack.
So I'm still going to do 2 sessions a day on MWF, but have one of them be strength training and the other one be my boot camp class, since although I'm getting a decent upper body workout, I want to tweak a few things upper body-wise, and I need to work more on lower body and abs. I realized this week, I lost some strength in my legs, and I want to get that back up.
So with cutting back on the cardio, this means that my food intake will have to go down. I think I can live with that...hopefully, this will mean that my body won't be going nuts with the carb cravings and I'll want more protein...but we'll see how it goes.
It's late in the day for a check-in, but I've been busy since I got up...cleaned and organized my bedroom and its closet...feels so good to have it done! Have a big box for goodwill too. Found a few of my bigger tops at the bottom of my closet that had fallen off and gotten lost in the depths that missed their weed-out long ago :) Hope everyone is starting off December on a great note!

I tried to sleep in this morning, but my husband got up to go in to the office for a few hours and the cats decided that the bed was a playground. This morning I'm trying to gain some space in the fridge by roasting up some vegetables. I want to make beef barley soup this weekend, but I don't have any place to put it!
Happy December 1 everyone! Christmas is so close now.. officially that is, as it seems to start right after the Halloween decorations are taken down.
I am going to redeem $220 worth of Shopper Drug Mart points today.. they are giving an extra $40 worth, and I have a free $10 gift card also, so I've decided to treat myself to a Sony ebook reader as a gift to myself for reaching my goal weight. I've wanted one for ages and they've got a promo price on for $99,
This is going to be a fun morning... then it's back to reality and exercise this afternoon.. it's stationary bike day.. I must do that before I get absorped in my new reader!!!

Had a strange day yesterday, felt like I was either getting sick or that my hormones were jumping around. So I ate too much, I guess I was trying to self-medicate with food. I feel back on track today. Having a fresh start with a new day of tracking always motivates me to have a good day.

Starting December at a much better weight than I started October at, though not much different from the beginning of November. Let's see if I can achieve and STAY at that goal this month! What do y'all think? Is it realistic to expect to stay right AT goal weight most of the time?

good morning! slept in today, all the way to 4:30. ended november with a wonderful 7 mile walk on our forest road in the snow. lots of leftovers so cooking was easy. hard to believe it is december, but here we are! good weigh-in this morning to start the month.

Good morning, Catmagnet! I love the idea of Advent. An Episcopal priest friend of mine this morning posted a pic of Santa in purple! Now you have me thinking of how to mark the 25 days until Christmas! Thank you.
I am up thinking of December goals. One of the big calorie add ons for me in December is alcohol. So I am going to stock up on some bubbly things that are not caloric or alcoholic and aim to limit myself to a single glass of champagne or whatever at holiday parties. Any idea about good bubbly low cal drinks anyone? At least bubbles aren't fattening (-:

Wow! It's 6:16 in the morning CST and I'm the one starting the daily thread!
Had a great day yesterday...although I was exhausted from my run, I had a very productive day at work and made it through boot camp last night. I also found that my mom sent me an advent calendar for December, which brought back all sorts of wonderful memories of opening each panel with my mom every morning as a kid (my dad's an atheist, so he doesn't really get into it like my mom does). Hard to believe I get to see everyone in 3 weeks!
So today is my marathon session at the gym: Zumba, spin and yoga. Will make sure to take extra water, and am looking forward to having fun. Later on, it's off to look at flannel nightgowns for my mom and new running shoes for me. :)
