I'm getting a late start this morning. No workout planned. The turkey is GONE. I'm ready for some good old spaghetti tonight. Then DGD's play at school tonight.
62NVON - Hope the doc has the answer for you. GOGOULD - Good luck with the tests Catmagnet - Congrats on reaching goal. 64 laps? I used to run on a small indoor track like that, but I never managed more than 48 before getting dizzy. I hope you are able to change direction now and then.
The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.
I started today off by stepping on the scale, and boy was I stunned: I reached my maintenance goal of 165 pounds! Granted, it could be that I didn't hydrate much after my workout last night, though I did drink a gallon of fluid between the herbal tea and water I had, but we'll see what the next few days bring. Plus, I'm still planning to work on losing another 5 pounds by December 22, so that even though I know I'll be able to maintain portion control and all that on my trip, I have some wiggle room, since my mom doesn't do her food as clean as I do.
Did a 6.4 mile run on the indoor track at the gym this morning, since some of the runners in my group are preparing for the St. Jude Half Marathon on Saturday and our leader was called into work early. Just because I don't run in the dark alone on an early morning doesn't mean I don't get my run in! So 64 laps around the indoor track I did...and will do some laps in the pool tonight.
After the guitar shopping last night, I brought home pizzas from Papa Murphy's to feed my family...stayed pretty close to range- except that the sodium is presumably thru the roof...had another small gain this morning- no doubt from sodium induced fluid retention. I could feel it in my hands before I even went to bed last night. Lots of water today to flush it out!
And I too traded my workout for the Christmas shopping trip- which normally I would call an even trade (lots of walking) but this was mostly driving, and only 30 mins standing in the guitar store while my son picked out what he wanted...not a huge calorie burner for sure :)
Christie- hope you get answers to your problems- my best friend recently went through surgery to solve hers after docs discovered a fibrous tumor was causing her troublesome girl-problem issues-not just typical peri-menopause stuff. Taking a break from her exercise routine in recuperation has been harder on her than the surgery itself:)
Highest weight: 248 August 2010 Reached goal weight of 148 Feb 23, 2012 1/29/14-Gained back 20-peeling it off!
Well, I did it again. Came home from rehearsal and stayed up a couple more hours instead of going to bed. Christie, good luck with the doctor. I hope that your issue is one that can be dealt with. "Just dealing with it" is no fun.
I chose to do some xmas shopping yesterday instead of working out. This morning I chose to dress up for my girls parent teacher conference for this afternoon b/c I won't have time later, between dr. appt and bringing kids to their classes. Looking forward to running tomorrow w/my buddy.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Hope you get the answers you need, Christie.
I've had a great week so far. Today is going to be one of those days. Super busy and driving all over for work. DH and I are playing cards tonight and tomorrow night, so I'm making a conscious decision to go easy on the booze. Not only is it empty calories, but when I drink too much I often skip my workout the next day. Naughty, naughty!
~Mandy~ I'll make it to the moon, if I have to crawl.
I am having a hard time firming up my plans for the day. I woke up feeling a little funny in the tummy, not sick exactly but like maybe it's the start of a bug... so I am not rushing to get my breakfast, though maybe eating is just what I need.
I plan to do some circuit work. I want to get out and walk once it warms up a little.

I passed on working out yesterday. I've got some girl-problem issues that were very hard to deal with. I'm calling the doc today, because either something is just not right, or it's something I'll have to deal with in perimenopause. If I know it's normal, I can deal with it.
My plan is to get a long circuit workout in tonight. And water, water, water!
LOGOULD - on planning your holidays....so smart! Glad you have a buddy to run with.
Celia - That is so key - mindful eating.
Laura - on making it to the gym....my name is Laura too.
My PLAN is to be mindful and enjoy the holidays...:::: "Major on fellowship; minor on food." My father just arrived early this morning from New Jersey....we are looking forward to great times this week as a family!

Hanging on, but realizing that I need to stay away from sugar. Thanksgiving got me going and with the holidays upon us, I have found that I am going to have to have LOTS of quick and easy and tasty fruits and veggies prepped to avoid the sugar and carb assault. So, that's the plan for the afternoon. This morning, I'm heading out for mam and bone density testing. Once home, I'm make some more cranberry sauce, clean some pomegranites and get ready for tonights adventure run. Closing Friday and Saturday at work so I will hit the gym Friday for yoga to work on flexibility, stretching and core and then run with a buddy on Saturday. Need some accountability on sticking with the fitness....especially during these holidays. Maybe need to sign up for a race. I'll have to discuss this with my running buddy. Have a great day ladies - for being here!

Good morning. Was up too early today, but got my bills paid and read some SP blogs. We have some great people on this site!
I'm heading out with the puppydogs to meet a friend for our long Thursday morning walk. Dogs already sense that "today's the day"! They are so funny, excited. I've had a lot of carb meals this week, prepared by other loving hands. So I have to make some other adjustments to counter balance.
