I set my alarm for 6:30am and it rudely woke me up..

Ramsey the beagle from down the road is here today while his Mom is off doing something else.. He's adorable and love our dogs, so I took him, my border collie Bessy, and my 83 year old neighbour out for a walk this morning. The sun came out and we walked for 2 hours! Usually its just a little over an hour, but I had little in the way of chores today, so took advantage and enjoyed it so much.

Denver our Auzzie only gets short walks now because he's too arthritic to go the distance these days.. so I walked him alone for 20 minutes first.. A busy but really enjoyable morning. This afternoon it's making a pot of split pea soup.

@BROOKLYN_BORN
I ran in a 5K last year in late November...it was a rainy, damp day, and I had overdressed...by the time I was done I had hat and gloves shoved in my shirt, scarf and light jacket tied around my waist..I thought I was going to have a heat stroke too :) I'm sure I looked like I was insane.

I didn't get out this morning until 11 and wow, was I overdressed. 4.5 miles done, but I ended up carrying my hat, headband and vest. If I could have shed my tights I would have. It was well over 60* when I finished.

The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

4 bad days. I keep starting motivated and ending in chocolate. Not certain how to get back in control - i don't even realize I'm doing it. Or I don't care, not certain which. I've got to get back under control.

Back after being MIA a bit. I was out of town for a week for Thanksgiving, but I've also found myself on SP less as I feel more confident in maintenance. I did see a little bump up after this week of celebrating and little exercise (have tendonitis in my leg from overuse--my dr. said I have to lay off running for a week--ugh!). But I'm only 2 pounds over my maintenance range, and I thought it was going to be much worse.

Working on inching my way back down into my range, but I'm ok with it if it takes a few weeks. Learning not to panic over these fluctuations. A little gain doesn't mean I'm destined to get fat all over again! Looking forward to starting back running tomorrow, too. Trying to see this break as a smart way to prevent injury and to keep my eye on the prize: half marathon in April. Better looking at it like than than as a week of being a slug. Tomorrow it will feel good to get running again. I did do a 10k on Thanksgiving because I was already signed up, and I ran it in 56:43, which is my fastest yet. Feels good!

Peri

Lost 65 pounds just in time for my 40th birthday. Now maintaining my weight loss, training for a half marathon and lifting weights seriously. Love my body and love my life. It was all worth it!

Today is going to be challenging....my DD is sick and my fingers are crossed that my other 3 children don't catch this bug...me too. emoticon I will track my calories, but not sure if I will make it to the gym today....just one of those days.

Now if we could count nursing as fitness...I'd have oodles of minutes...LOL! emoticon

I just couldn't wait until tomorrow to share the news that I took a deep breath and got on the scale today and ALAS, it was exactly the same as 10 days ago. I REALLY need to stop making excuses and get on that dang thing more often, treat it like a tool in my "maintenance box" and not as a definition of my self-worth. I shall work on this a little more diligently.

Had a decent boot camp session, though I was a bit sluggish this morning. Ran 6.5 miles yesterday, and looking forward to a short run tomorrow as well as the swim tonight. Wednesday, I'm thinking about doing two boot camp sessions (one in the morning, one in the afternoon), but we'll see how I feel after the first one.

Food has been good, though I got up into the upper echelon of my range yesterday. I was just ravenous, but that's probably because I was VERY active this weekend. Still ended up losing nearly 2 pounds over the weekend (169.2 on Thursday, 167.4 this morning), so I'm not complaining.

Had to scrape the frost off the windshield this morning. I was within my caloric limit yesterday in spite of the grazing brunch at church. Not feeling well this morning--I think my digestion just objects to getting up before dawn. I'm also bloaty--on the scale it's only a pound or so, but it feels like 10. Well, time to get this work week started!

My weekend was hit and miss. I overindulged a couple of (nonconsecutive) days, and stayed on track for the others. I also got in a couple of long walks, but otherwise did a lot of much needed resting. So, my weight is up a bit this week, but still well within my goal range. I did go to the gym this morning before work - must get back on track with food and working out.

Good Morning!

It's 28 degrees F out, and it's not even December yet. I have to get used to it though, because my plan is to get some walking done most mornings. I did things kinda backwards today and took my shower...realizing later that I don't like to go outside in the cold after my shower.

It's nice to get back on a regular schedule, having hubby home 4 days is really nice, but makes eating hard...usually he likes to include eating out once per day. I had some crock pot bean chili and we ended up eating that once a day instead of eating out. Besides one Thanksgiving meal, we only ate out once in four days! I think that's progress! I'll have to encourage that to keep happening by telling him I really was happy we did that!

Hi gang!

I've been a little MIA with the holidays and all. I definitely over-ate, but not too badly. I tried to compensate with extra fitness minutes.

Today is a new day, and I am back on track and focused.

Have a fabulous day!

Up early, too, but that means heading out the door at 5 for work. Need to get a walk in today, and I have yoga this evening. Also need to focus on eating at least some days in weight-loss mode to counter the inevitable overeating days. The Thanksgiving break was split, with 2 days over the limit, and 2 days under (one of those well under), so the weight has remained stable.

Feeling winter hitting me HARD....going to work and then a meeting with the ladies at church tonight(YEAH). Back on the strict(er) eating plan till Christmas now. Also, planning out the fitness sessions and scheduling them in so that they don't get missed. Hoping to start amping up the fitness a little each week as I recover from the plantars and the back strain. Gonna need it if I want to keep eating.

Good Morning! I'm in the same boat, Maree. I was tossing and turning in bed, so I figured I'd go ahead and get up. I cranked up the ancient dreadmill in the basement and got in 3 miles.

Day 1 training for 10k on 01/01/13-- check!

Good morning. Up too early. The dogs woke me up and then I couldn't get back to sleep. I feel like running but it's too dark and probably not safe to go alone. Gym opens at 5:00 on Mondays so I have to wait. I hope everyone has a good Monday.
