I also walk about a 20 minute mile - not to worry!

DH and I took a hike around the farm where we camped - talked to a baby alpaca, tried to save a lamb caught on the wrong side of the fence (he finally figured out how to climb under it), watched the rabbits race up and down the hill. It was lovely. The barking dogs by the shower, not so much. (Also ate close to in range)

Took a 5K walk this morning with my hubby. Considering I just got over a sprained ankle, I made good time, in just 2 minutes more than the last time. I never really make that good of time even when my hubby sets the pace...he walks really fast. I hold him back a lot. But I don't know how I can walk any faster. I blame my short legs. I do a 20 minute mile. That sounds so slow to me.

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd check in while I have a moment to myself. Having daughter and granddaughter here is fun, but tiring. For some reason, I've kinda got the blues this afternoon. I think it's the over-whelming of the Christmas buying season. I'm terrible at coming up with gift ideas and I no longer enjoy shopping either. But I'll get it figured out, I'm sure.

Afternoon Everyone!

Yesterday I hiked off some of my over indulgences in the North Georgia mountains. It was a spur of the moment trip. Today I took my pup on 4 mi run/walk.

I'm trying to get my weight back down to the lowest point on my range to prepare for Christmas celebrations, and SP has proscribed the dreaded 1200-1550 calorie range again! Lots of vegetables and soups for the next week or two.

Welcome Mandy!

CATMAGNET, that stinks about your date. Hope you guys get a do-over tomorrow.

feeling like i'm back on track today. we also have a holiday season, though this year everyone has celebrated thanksgiving somewhere else. we hope to have the family gathered here at christmas, which includes my jewish side of the family (my dad will be enjoying his second christmas tree at age 97!). yesterday we walked about 6.5 miles and then drove up the mountainside, trekked into the woods, and came out with a beautiful tree. we came home and i made a big pot of thai sweet and sour soup with tofu and soba noodles, which we enjoyed so much it became both lunch and dinner. we've been taking saunas lately, which seems to help DH's cold weather aches and pains (that disappear in summer, or during winter visits to hawaii).

today will be another walk in the snow. have a good saturday!

I've been working on planning my eating and fitness for the following day in the evenings. This has helped me stay very close to what I need to be doing. I do have slight variations at times but adjust accordingly.

Today I'm cleaning house and making preps for guests with us for lunch tomorrow - so I'll be able to prepare and enjoy a good nutritional, balanced meal.

Have a great weekend!

Moving day for my mother-in-law. I hope that many hands will make light work and we'll get it done with a minimum of hassle. She's just going from one apartment to another in the same building. Weight up a bit from yesterday.

Hi guys! I'm Mandy and I'm new. I gain and lose the same 15 lbs every 9-12 months. Have had it off for about 6 months now and don't want it back ever!

Hadn't worked out in several days so I got up and did about 45 minutes of weight lifting this morning. I have my dinners planned and think I'll get a shower and head to the grocery store.

A beautiful, sunny day here. I'm glad the holiday is over and I'm ready to move on to a cleaner diet and now, finally ready (read willing) to add in exercise. I have put off exercising seriously for many years and it is time. Not going to be anything drastic at my age and considering my physical issues at the beginning, but a start. I plan on placing emphasis on consistency over time.

Nutrition hasn't been a total bust so far this weekend, but I need to get it back under tighter control now. Breakfast was a cup of roasted root veggies and a couple Tblsp of cranberry relish (home made). Actually quite good for a change. Still have company at the house and had to work yesterday (black Fri) and will work from 1-10 tonight. Tomorrow I will have one last day to get some tasks done and go to church and spend some time with company before its back to the day to day grind. Back is feeling much better - not at 100%, but good enough to attempt some strength training and aside from the plantar fasciitis, running should be better - of course, the temps are wind chill of 15 degrees, but thats what the new clothes are for. Looks like I'll get to check out the new pants and jacket (and possibly the balakava) Tues night.

Like the idea of holiday SEASON over the idea of ONE day, Brooklyn. Have fun today. Had a great time myself. Lots of long walks too. Taking care of our grand dog this weekend while our kids travel with grandkids. More walking.... I will be a lean machine by time it is over! LOL

Hope you have a wonderful visit with the kids and grandkids, Brooklyn!

So last night's date was a bust. We had a "Cool Hand Luke" moment (failure to communicate) as far as a meeting point. He just assumed that I actually USE my cell phone (I have a cheap one that is currently not charging and I only pay for 50 minutes a month for emergency use only) to call him to let him know when I was ready, when I thought he was going to pick me up at a certain time...ya know, like men USED to? *sigh*

Anyhow, I've now kind of lost interest in going out with him, but will suggest lunch and going to a sports bar to watch football tomorrow.

I was back on track yesterday with food and fitness, though I did run a little extra to burn off some of those extra dessert calories from Thursday. Today, it will be a long morning at the gym, then heading to Verizon to fix my cell phone issue, getting my contact lens check and running another errand or two. Should be a good day.

That sounds like a lovely morning, Brooklyn! Enjoy the grandkids and the day!

I'm off to a prose writing workshop at a local college this morning--just something a little different. Then back home, and we'll figure out what to do with the rest of the day.

I bet I’m the only person cooking a TURKEY this morning. Also a pork loin (one SIL allergic to poultry) and a crock pot full of root vegetables. Why the late celebration? I always defer to my children’s in-laws to whom Thanksgiving on the official day is more important than it is to DH and me. When we were growing up, our fathers often had to work on Thanksgiving Day itself, so as long as we can mark the holiday at some point, we’re both OK with it.
Now I’ll get a quick run in before the 5 grandchildren wake up.
Have a good Saturday everyone!
