I agree on the Twinkie comment. I don't know what the fuss is about. The entire Hostess line is so unbelievably unhealthy. I feel badly for the families that lost their jobs, though. They are in my prayers and thoughts.

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, NOTHING & NOBODY will hold me down. I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.

Twinkies - bleah - I didn't even like them as a child! I TRIED to like them, because the man who did the TV show I liked as a 5 yr old liked Twinkies - but they weren't chocolate!

Okay, I did well yesterday - about an hour or so walk on the beach, some running up and down sand dunes, and nutrition close to in range. No wifi, no electricity, camped by the beach. Lovely!

Okay, all this talk of Twinkies makes me want one. I can't remember the last time I had one, years, probably decades ago. But, really, stop already!!!! lol

Just made baked chicken tenders from SP Cookbook. Yummy!

Had a sudden increase in weight, and I'm not recording it yet...I think it's just a retention thing. Will recheck in a day or two. I'm finally getting so I don't react emotionally to those little blips.
It happens.

It feels so good to be walking again. I'm due for ST today. I've got plenty of time this afternoon to fit that in. I have no excuse to not do it. It took me three days to get over the soreness from my last Strength workout.

Back home last night after a week of hiking in the Sedona mountains. So enjoyed it and jumpstarted me back to hiking mountain closer to home. Now time to catch up from taking the week off. Weight low which is a good way to start in to the holidays.

What a great weekend! Took my youngest son and my nephew to see Lincoln on Saturday. It was a good movie, although it kind of bummed me out to spend 3 hours in the middle of a beautiful Fall Saturday in a theater...had to work with the time I have my son though :)
Dinner (pre-thanksgiving kind of..) at my parent's house on Sunday.
Accidentally left my phone at my BF's house last night, so I'm without it, and expecting to hear from family on surgery my uncle may have today (if not today-tomorrow) to remove a cancerous tumor from his spine. Trying not to let it bother me too much to be "out of touch", but man we come to depend on those darn phones!

Still on target with goal weight. Would like to keep inching down to that 5 under goal I have set, but it will be a challenge for the next 6 weeks or so.

Working on my menu contributions for Thanksgiving--have to make my decisions and my list--plan to get the shopping done tonight after work--or maybe tomorrow :)

Had a different instructor for boot camp this morning, so it was more of a step class with a bit of strength training this morning...but definitely got a great workout. Looking forward to my swim this afternoon.

I also looked at the number of folks that have signed up for the Turkey Trot. There's 2200 already signed up, so I think I'm going to have to get there SUPER early in order to get a parking spot (6-6:30 AM for a 9AM start). Oh well, that will allow me to run a couple of miles before the race so that I get my 6 miles in (it's a 4 mile race). I'll also make sure to pack a lunch pail so that I have proper nutrition as I'm waiting for the start.

Nutrition is still going well; my weight is still consistently between 170-172. I think I've pretty much resigned myself to that being my maintenance level at this point, which is fine, as it means my BMI is below 30 and my fat percentage is within normal ranges. Besides, I think I look good in the mirror and I'm able to do a lot of what I want to do fitness-wise...and am working on improving that as the weeks progress.

Over the weekend, I also bought a new fitness DVD, so I have a couple to take with me next month when I visit my parents for Christmas. I won't burn as many calories as I normally do, but I still want to keep my activity level up...and a couple of hours a day for a couple of the days when I'm not running isn't going to kill anyone.

Good morning! I did much better this weekend than I did last weekend and the weekend before that.

I stepped on the scale Saturday and was right where I thought I would be... up. But not by much. I need a new plan. I've got the makings of one in my mind. It's just a matter of putting it all together and getting into action.

I brought my tennie's to work today hoping to get a short walk in. My jump rope better look out. Tonight I plan to smack it around a bit while I get some much needed cardio in.

Did as I intended yesterday and spent some time in the kitchen. I made a savory bread pudding with acorn squash, Italian sausage and braising mix greens. A sane person would have called it 8 servings, but I called it 6. I justify it because it's a one dish meal. I am having half servings for some lunches this week. I also grilled sausages--two for lunch, two for another meal, and shredded a head of cabbage so that it's ready when I want it. It really doesn't take very long to shred cabbage in a food processor, but at the end of a long workday that whole head seems daunting. I'm much more likely to use it once it's all ready to put into a recipe. I think I was in range for the day, but I have to guess on the sausages because they're made locally and don't have nutritional labels.

This morning is so wet that even with rain boots I was pretty soaked after walking the two blocks from the parking lot to work. No outside walk today without a snorkel! emoticon

Still feeling quite sore and getting antsy. Can't figure out how to keep up any fitness/running when walking and day to day activity is still so painful. Seeing the Dr. today and from there will schedule with PT and or a chiro. The good news is that I haven't gained any, but still to close to the top of my range for my liking and the holidays are here....SCARED!

Slowly getting back into my routine and tracking. The "salt dam" seems to have dissolved after all the sodium bombs I had on vacation, and I don't dare stray too far from the restroom. At least the water weight is going away!

Morning!

The weekend had some ups and downs, but it's time to start ending my days a little below calorie range so I can really enjoy Thursday.

BF and I are toying with the idea of going completely stress-free and just spending Thanksgiving together here in town. I'll miss hanging out with family, but not driving is sounding better and better.

Good morning, team!

This weekend was not so great... but I'm recommitting today (again). I've been allowing DH to affect my food choices. No more, though!

I do have lunch with my cousin today, but they have great salads, so that's all good. I also have my workouts plotted out for the week. I'm going into the big day lean and mean, which hopefully will inspire me to exercise at least a modicum of self-control at the big dinner.

I feel like we're running two Thanksgiving dinners! My daughter up north is doing her first one from scratch and has been emailing us for advice. And this is the first one we're trying to do gluten free. Luckily, that time we catered a T'day dinner, there was a gluten-free family member, so we learned a few things.

Made it through Halloween and the temptations all around me. Now Thanksgiving week. I'm trying to keep things as simple a possible (healthy as possible) for the menu. Again, I'm so grateful for this team. Pat

good morning! made it through the weekend ok, yesterday the road was still bare and dry and it wasn't raining or sleeting or snowing, like the day before, so we did a 6-mile run. nutrition went well, made a chard frittata and had tempeh bourgignon leftover from the day before. still haven't managed to fit in strength training. weight is not climbing - for now.
