11K walking, just over range on the calories - my jeans are getting a bit loose in the seat. Might be walking all these hills!

I am feeling very positive today. I'm down a pound, but still a pound over my goal weight. I have a plan written down for the weekend and I think I can stay busy enough and be healthy enough to get back to goal by Monday. I signed up on the "I need a buddy" thread 3 days ago and had no response. I was sitting here feeling kind of sad about that, but I've also been thinking about what I would like a buddy to do. I've been thinking that ideally, my buddy would text me Sunday night (my worst day of the week historically) and make sure I was behaving. All of a sudden it dawned on me about half an hour ago, that I can just set up a reminder on my cell phone to go off and keep me in line! Has anyone else ever thought about doing that? I don't know why it took so long to occur to me. I also set up a reminder to notify me to weigh in for the maintainer challenge on Monday so I won't forget despite my disrupted schedule due to Veteran's Day. I think I've got a great plan and I also think it just might work! Woo hoo! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Ahhhhh...just starting a long weekend off for my birthday(tomorrow). Got lots of stuff planned and WAY too many opportunities to eat. I planned a bunch of stuff non food related, so, I hope that will curtail some of the overindulging. When will people in my life start to realize that I don't want to center my life around or think of food as the only way to celebrate. Hopefully they will take into account my preferences in restaurants this time around at least. Sisters are meeting some friends and me to pack food for FMSC (Feed My Starving Children) tonight and tomorrow morning I'll meet up with some friends to run the Gobbler Hobbler 10K - and even they want to go out to eat after to celebrate. I'll grab something light and then do dinner with my sisters and lunch or brunch on Sunday then a concert with other friends on Sunday night. Going to enjoy the day off on Monday just to catch up on rest before back to the grind.

Hello! I haven't checked in in a bit. I'm at 147.5, 2.5 below my original goal weight. But, I'm sort of glad I have a buffer... I've got a crazy couple of weeks coming up.
Tomorrow we have 2 birthday parties to go to. One is for a 2 year old, which probably means cake/cupcakes, etc, which are my weakness. Then, right after we're heading downtown for my cousin's birthday, at a restaurant that serves "asian fusion" type food. So, no way to track any of that.
Next Tuesday we've been invited to go down to the Pepsi Center, which is where the NHL Colorado avalanche play, to go ice skating. My BF is a season ticket holder and since the players are still on strike, I guess they're trying to entertain everyone so they don't ask for a refund of their tickets. LOL But, they're serving pizza at that...but maybe all the iceskating will burn off the pizza?? :)
Then, on Friday morning we are headed to Las Vegas for the weekend, for a football game, but I'm sure there will be buffets and other restaurants in our future. We come back Sunday, then my parents arrive on Tuesday night for Thanksgiving. They're taking us out to dinner on Wednesday night, then of course there's the Big Day (of eating) on Thursday and all the leftovers on Friday.
I'm going to try to eat a little less on my non-event days, in the hopes that that will even it out some. So, if I can make it through the next 2 weeks without gaining, I will be a happy camper, and if I can make it through without gaining more than 2.5lbs, I will be a mediocre camper LOL

OMG, I need to get back on track. I went crazy with the candy again last night. The scale today says +2lbs, which I should expect, but still makes me sad. I need to make adjustments. The main one being no more candy in the house!

So glad it's Friday. We've been getting to bed earlier than usual but the nights still aren't long enough! The scale shows my indulgence of the past few days, but my digestion is also reminding me why I shouldn't do that sort of thing! I think it'll be easier to keep in range today. I've also been neglecting things like laundry and practicing new music for a rehearsal Monday. FIL's memorial service tomorrow.

Today will be a busy one for me. I always plan my ST@Y on MWF, but today my grandma has put in a request for a ride to the chiro, so that will shift my plans some. It was an otherwise tight schedule in the first place, so I hope that doesn't have to be abandoned. The weekend will include wood hauling and stacking though, so I could conceivably replace my workout at the gym that way if I have to.
Enjoy your visitors Maree..and the pumpkin bread sounds delicious. I think we had plans to make more of that this weekend too. The stew sounds awesome too, TORTISE110. I've been really in the mood to start making soup again, and stew sounds like it would really hit the spot. Welcome, Barb! Lori...I love the twilight runs; too bad I haven't done one in a while. Great news, Jane...closing in on your goal! Suzy...I love getting in lots of activity by walking around a fun place all day! In my mind, it's the easiest exercise in the world.
Have a great day and weekend, everyone!

Welcome, Barb! 5 lbs by Christmas is very doable, especially if you shave off 100-200 calories a day from your allowance. Maybe not so easy to do over Thanksgiving, but checking in here every day is a very smart way to keep yourself accountable.
Good luck with the working at home plan, Laura! So many companies are flexible about that, and why not? We spend the whole day on our computers anyway.
I'm excited to be leaving for Disney at lunchtime. My daughter is boarding a plane soon in Boston and will arrive later this afternoon. We're going to have a girls weekend at Downtown Disney and Magic Kingdom for her birthday tomorrow! You're never too old!
Disney means a lot of walking, which is great. I already put in 2.5 miles this morning, can add a little more when I arrive at the hotel, and will try to stay close to plan. However, there IS that Ghirardelli joint in Downtown Disney.

I went to the gym last night to get my body composition tested, like I do every 4 weeks, and I lost 2% body fat since the last time I had everything measured! Those boot camp classes are definitely paying off...and now I'm in normal range of body fat for my age (23-35% - I'm at 34.2%). This doesn't mean I'm going to slack off at all, since there's always room for improvement, but it feels good that after all this hard work, I FINALLY am in the normal range for a measurement that helps determine fitness!
So to celebrate that milestone, I ran 5 miles.
Had a great swim this morning, and looking forward to boot camp tonight. This weekend, I'm planning on going through my closets (OK, I say this every weekend, but this weekend, I MEAN IT!) and get rid of my fat clothes and do some shopping, since I'm VERY close to my weight goal!

I took a 45 minute walk this morning before going to my office. What a gorgeous day we have here in PA! Be well everyone, Pat

It's a beautiful autumn day here in Georgia. Life is good.
Going to attempt a twilight run tonight when I get home from work. Bringing the dog, staying on sidewalks lit with streetlights on a route that I know well. I just hope this huge project due today doesn't keep me here later than expected.
Today's the day... I'm going to approach my boss with the request to work from home a few days a week. I'm nervous!
Welcome Barb! You're going to like the daily check-ins... it's my favorite way to start my day with this great group of Sparkers!

Good morning. I’m up earlier than usual. Must have been the Sun coming in the window of my bedroom. We have frost this morning but looks like it will be a beautiful day. The scale dropped a nice bit this morning thanks to a good food and exercise day yesterday. I plan to repeat that today. I’m finally back on track.
Maree, enjoy your daughter and granddaughter this weekend. Your pumpkin bread sound wonderful.
Barb, welcome and checking in here helps to set my day right.

Good morning. I've only been on this team a short while and have noticed the daily check-in threads. Looks like a good place for support and encouragement as well as accountability.
This has been a crazy week for me. A couple of times I've found myself eating more than usual and I'm seeing the results with pounds coming back on that I've worked hard to take off. I certainly don't want to go there. I've noticed that even a few additional pounds make me feel bloated.
So I thought this a great place to just make a daily statement of what I'm doing. Today I have my meals planned on the nutrition tracker at the low end of calorie range. I want to stay with that plan and do a workout of running or bodypump class. Weight wise - I would like to take off 5 pounds by Christmas to get into the middle of my maintenance range rather than hovering at the top end of it.
Thanks for being here!

Good morning! I feel like a little kid on Christmas morning--my granddaughter and daughter are headed home tonight for the weekend. I just love them SO much! I woke up at 2:00 and made my "famous" pumpkin bread (I bake down real pumpkin, bake the bread in small mini loaves, and have many fans who ask for it :))) A little excited here.
Goose jerky is made by slicing the breast of Canada goose very thin, marinating in various spices and placing strips in a dehydrater. My hunter husband makes jerky with venison, too. Very lean, of course.
I'm headed to the gym soon--eliptical for at leat 30 min and then a R.I.P.P.E.D. class (kinda boot camp, interval workout). Planning to continue to eat clean no matter what the scale does. I've managed to resist all Halloween candy, and will have only a small slice of the yummy pumpkin bread--what my girls don't eat, I'll gift. :)) Hope you all have a GREAT day!
