Had our college buddies potluck today, great to see all my friends. Lots of food, but I ate mostly the salads and vegs, with a little chicken and a little dessert. And no wine. So all in all, not too bad.

I hope for the best for all of you on the east coast. I heard that it wasn't going to be as bad as they thought, then I heard that everyone should prepare for the worst, so I don't know what to expect. I just went to my first Halloween party and had nothing but water! I had a good dinner before going. I'm feeling pretty successful! I also got in a workout and ate well. So far this weekend is going SO much better than last weekend! Hopefully I can keep it up.

I'm getting ready for Frankenstorm. I was up on the roof this morning clearing out the gutters. There are still so many leaves in the trees it was probably a futile exercise but needed to be done. We are all storm shy around here after the flooding and power outages of Irene last year (immediately following a rare earthquake), and the long power failures and tree damage from the derecho last June. I love living in the oak forest....except when a windstorm arrives.
Good luck to all of us on the East Coast in the next few days. I have a generator so I can at least still be online in a power failure, but we may have to wait to see some of us online.

It's a gray, damp day in the Pacific Northwest. I hope the Frankenstorm that the East bracing for turns out to be a non-event. I'm a tick under goal for the first time since our vacation. Going to see my FIL on a non-dialysis day. I want to go shopping for clothes and shoes, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. I have a gift card at Macy's and a Christopher & Banks reward that are burning a hole in my pocket!

Good Morning! I will be battening down the hatches today prior to the Frankenstorm. I am a skeptic but it doesn't hurt to be prepared for the worst.

Got back to my morning jog with the dog today. Doing some Sparking and then hubby is making pancakes! Halloween parties tonight - wish me will power.

Got to sleep in (till 6) and now dress and getting ready to go to a cold weather running clinic. They are going to have Craft there with base layers for us to try on and go for test runs in so I am pretty excited that this isn't going to be all trial and error this winter. Taking it easy today. A few household chores and then leaving early tomorrow morning for a 10K. It's only supposed to be around 35 degrees when we start, so test number one for the winter running season!

Yes, I've been awake and up since about 2 am and not very happy about that. I've identified the problem is more stress than usual at work and the malaise that occurs as we must winterize the houseboat for the year. So I avoided emotional eating last night by going to bed early--figured I wasn't going to eat just because I was tired. Now I need to brainstorm on ways to reduce or deal with the stress so I don't derail my accomplishments in health/fitness/weight loss maintenance. Hope everyone has a happy Saturday!

Today is my third morning in my goal range. I am up early to do a workout (the firm 500 calorie) and go see if the Weight Watchers scale agrees with mine :)
