Today is the 23rd but seems there are folks checking in here, so here I am. If the early bird catches the worm, I guess I could go fishing as I woke up about 2 am and finally just got up, I had some chores and reading to do since the cup of hot tea didn't put me back to sleep.

Ran on the treadmill 30 min and then pilates for an hour this morning. Muscles are screaming from yesterday's ST. The scale at my gym has got to be off; I refuse to believe I gained several lbs when eating has been on track. I think I'm going to buy a scale for home instead of relying on that thing. Any recommendations for scales?

Calories in range, walked after dinner, made some smart choices. It was a good day.

Still weighed in at 149 today, so that's pretty good, I was hoping my bad day on Saturday didn't put me over the 150 edge.

Day today got off to a hectic start... I had forgotten to set my alarm to 7:15... it was still set for 9am from Saturday! Woke up at 7:50, and still made it to work by 9:15... no small feat considering my commute is an hour! Glad I prepacked most of my lunch last night, although I still forgot my hummus and sugar snap peas I was going to have with lunch. Oh well, it's almost lunch time and I'm not that hungry at all so it should be fine.

I learned this weekend that I cannot have good cheese in the house. After the dinner party on Saturday, my friend sent me home with goat cheese and soft gorgonzola (my favorite). I polished off the gorgonzola yesterday at lunch, and some of the goat cheese. Neither are all that bad I guess, calorie wise, but if your entire lunch consists of cheese with a few pieces of sourdough bread and an apple, it's not the best lunch :) I was hungry all afternoon. I barely squeaked in within range yesterday and had to do some heavy snacking resistance.

I made a chicken pot pie soup last night, and it was pretty good, and very filling for only 250 calories. Having more for lunch today, but the rest went in the freezer for another day. BF comes home from hunting tonight so I'm making him a big hearty dinner of an enchilada casserole with ground beef. One serving is 628 calories so good thing I'm having soup for lunch today :)

@Laura - I'm glad you like the idea, our plans to run to dinner tonight are on hold right now, I think. I don't mind running in the rain, but I have a feeling the baby might be a little against this idea. And right now, the weather is only getting worse. Sigh.

I will do abs tonight, though... must do SOMETHING tonight...

Normally don't check in twice in one day... but just got back from the office lunch.

There were healthy options on the menu, but frankly I can't afford to spend $20 on lunch. So I got the cheapest, healthiest option-- a boring side salad with dressing on the side. Annnnd guess how much I paid for it?? SEVEN FREAKING DOLLARS. Including tip, but still holy crap. I felt completely deprived and if I had less self control I would've pitched a fit and stomped my foot. It didn't help that my "on a diet" coworker who I thought would lend some support (we picked out healthy options before we left) ended up getting the $15.99 lunch buffet and smothered everything with remoulade. Smelled so good, my mouth was WATERING.

We got back to the office and had a song-and-cake thing. I took the smallest sliver of cake but it was still almost 300 cals. I was going to walk to the grocery store and get a snack but I just looked at my stats and I've only got 730 cals for the remainder of the day. I've still got pre-workout snack and dinner to squeeze in there. I know my dinners end up at about 600, so i guess fruit is the only option for my snack. UGH! Why does acknowledging someone's birthday automatically translate to "everyone stuff your face without abandon"?

Ok... whew that felt good to vent. I'm sipping on strong coffee right now, and it's taking away the hunger.

In other news, I'm really digging your idea to jog to Subway tonight, BME_22. I might have to steal your idea and sneak in some exercise when I eat at a local restaurant.

Good morning!

So yesterday, I took the plunge and signed up for my first half marathon, which will take place on St. Patrick's Day next year. Yesterday's long run just really inspired me, and I figured that 13.1 miles was a goal that was within reach for me.

Had boot camp this morning, and it totally kicked my butt. I had to make some modifications, since I have problems holding a barbell on my shoulders, but still got a good workout. Going to do some swimming tonight to loosen up the knees a little for my run tomorrow morning.

Nutrition is still going well, and I've dropped a couple more pounds this week. I'm still glad I decided to ease up the push to lose weight and work on improving my relationship with food a bit more. I've been so structured for so long, and so it's time to enjoy some things in moderation.

Have a good Monday, folks!

Jane

My weight is up this morning, just slightly higher than my maintenance range. But, it's always up Monday morning and since I was just barely in the maintenance range, I'm hoping that's okay. My official weigh in day is Wednesday, so I'll know more how I'm doing then.

I'm so sore from the 5k I ran on Saturday. DH and I plan to jog to Subway tonight for dinner, then walk back. It's about a mile and a half away, so that should be a nice way to get some exercise in this evening.

Otherwise, back to the grind. I get next Friday off. I'm so excited for a short week next week.

If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?

What is right is not always easy, and what is easy is not always right.

Gearing up for another stressful work week. I didn't sleep well and my guts are cranky. FIL was moved yesterday to a rehab/skilled nursing facility and will start outpatient dialysis this afternoon. If I was a less responsible citizen I would have called in sick, slept until 9 and then taken myself shopping. emoticon But here I am. Onward and upward! emoticon

Had a great, active weekend, and I'm wishing it wasn't so dreary looking right now. Looks like 8:30 pm instead of 8:30 am out there.
The 5k on Saturday was great...my second best time, and the trail was so beautiful. Busy all day yesterday with various inside and outside chores- including some wood cutting. Such a beautiful day to be outside.
Strength training and cardio later today at the Y.
The scale has been creeping down the last 3 days- glad to see that, since it had been creeping back up over the previous week.
Have a great week, everyone!

After spending the weekend staffing the U.S. FreedomWalk Festival, I rushed home to pack last night. This morning I battled traffic to the airport and stood in a miles-long line to get through security. Finally a couple of minutes for a quick check-in. Have a great day!

Spent the morning looking after my 6month old baby girl, she is frustrated at her lack of mobility and protesting a lot when things are out of reach! Still managing to get 30 mins on the stationary bike in the mornings with her playing in the high chair though! Went out for a short walk but I feel really tired today, need to catch up on some sleep, early night tonight - I'm lucky my baby sleeps all night most of the time.
Hoping to get a run in later while dinner is cooking, I'm trying to find some new and more interesting routes.

Thanks SUZYMOBILE for your supportive comments on yesterdays check-in. I think it's the hardest part of keeping this weight off! I could have done better on nutrition yesterday but I got plenty of exercise in and I'm ready to improve things next time we go over for Sunday lunch

Another Manic Monday... :)

My weekend was great, but way too short! Both days ate within range, and I weighed in at the lowest end of my maintenence range. Success!!

Saturday the BF and I set out to Fort Yargo to hike the lake trail. A mile in, we ended up transitioning to a trail run and finished 6 mi in 1hr17mins..woo hoo! He looked at me and said, "Are we ruined on regular hiking now?".

Sunday we had a lazy morning and full Southern breakfast, grits and all! Got my butt in the gym around noon and pumped out a fantastic ST workout (I'm SO sore). Met a friend for coffee and knitting and then watched Walking Dead. PERFECT day!

Today I have to go to an obligatory office birthday lunch. I'm NOT pleased. The restaurant is Cajun, so fried salty seafood is the only option. Plus it's super pricy and we have to pay out of pocket. I HATE office lunches, I'd rather splurge at dinner when I'm with people I actually like! I'd love to skip it, but I'm dying to overhear some news on where our office is moving next year. Might be a good idea to eat before and just go there for conversation.

Anyways.. Have a great week team!

I'm off to the gym this morning for aerobics/wts class and a short tm session. Those weights are so much more tolerable in a group.

Have a good day everyone.

Have a great week, everyone. My weight bounced back up 3 pounds, but my moving average for the Thankful Maintainer Challenge didn't change much. Looks like my weekend low weight was a fluke, but I sure felt good about it at the time. Back to reality.

Good morning Susan and all who follow.

The weekend was okay, but could have been much better. Weight is up a little, which is not unexpected. Re-focusing today to get back on track.

Have a great day!

good morning team!
yesterday was our last run here in molokai (today is our last full day on molokai), we leave early tomorrow for a conference in san diego before returning home to WA. today we will walk our favorite beach end to end for the last time this trip, then pack and take care of last minute errands.

nutrition yesterday was fairly good - though i munched on (of all things) baked tofu probably a bit more than i should have. the scale did not complain (too) much, so i guess i balanced out ok.

all in all, weight has held well, after the initial weight loss (unintended) when we got here, but i will be moving into a black hole the coming week - no scale until we get home on sunday, and restaurant meals for the rest of the week.

have a great monday!
