Got a lot accomplished, helped my father by moving furniture and cleaning a room - but not enough to offset what turned out to be a series of not-good choices when eating today. Just one of those days.

Back down at my 150 so I guess the weekend's bad eating worked it's way out of my system. Although I know this weekend it'll be up again. We're heading up to Laramie for a football game and staying overnight, so it'll be lots of eating out and beer. I'm not a big drinker and it's supposed to be somewhat cold (50s) so I doubt I'll drink much beer though.

I am feeling more settled now that I've come up with a pseudo eating plan to figure out where I should be hanging out to maintain. I've been in the 1600-1650 range this week, so I'll stick at 1600-1700 for the next few weeks to see where that puts me.

Working on maintaining at 140!

It was time to test the knee on hills this morning. 4 miles total but only 15 min (about 1.5 miles) running. The tendon complained most on the downhills, probably since I hit the ground harder. But it wasn't enough to quit and the walking part felt OK.

A haircut this afternoon since I look like a sheepdog.

Quick, late check-in for me... Had a seminar at an attorney's office at 7:30 a.m., so I had to leave the house at 6 a.m. Back in my office now and covered up.

Yesterday was a good one... official weigh-in is pretty much goal. Cardio tonight.

Have a great day!

The word has come down from on high--4 people in a lower job class are being "promoted" to my job class and 4 people will be laid off on 11/30. The 4 "promoted" can take a package or train for the higher job class-if they can't do it by the 30th, they're out. If they can, the lowest in seniority go. My job isn't in danger but my "best friend at work" is. The person who might bump her is also a friend that I've known for 20 years. If we lose experienced workers it will likely make life difficult for those who stay. It's going to be interesting, to say the least. My in-laws decline continues. DH is taking them to an appointment today so he can hear from the doctor what is going on and convey that to his brothers. It's clear that his Dad is in his final decline. Mom has dementia, with short term memory loss the prime problem. In other news, my church pastor-very dynamic and well loved--has announced his retirement next year. Lots of change. Did OK with eating yesterday, not so good on exercise.

This is turning out to be a really insane week full of ups and downs.

Down: As it turns out, I hurt my left shoulder in that spill on the treadmill as well. That means no swimming for now. I have an appointment to get my shoulder looked at tomorrow by the orthopedic surgeon for most of the Memphis athletic teams. Sounds like I'll be in good hands.

Up: The knee has bounced back nicely. I don't walk with a limp anymore, and I'm going to try the elliptical today at the gym after work. I would say it's at about 90% at this point and definitely looks worse than it actually is. I also have now lost 100 pounds in 286 days! WOOHOOOO!

So I think my mantra for the rest of the week is going to be "Take things one day at a time and prepare for ANYTHING."

Happy Hump Day everyone :)

Yesterday I planned on doing some cardio to flush out the soreness, but I just took a rest day. I was in a LOT of pain and felt like being a baby about it. My BF helped me get a really stretch in shoulders and pecs, and this morning I feel sooo much better!! Next time I go to that class I'll stop worrying about keeping up with every move and really listen to my body. I've been slacking on ST for a long time, it's going to take some work to get it back.

Haven't ran at all yet this week, so today the plan is a slow 5k with the pup.

Have a great trip, Sue!

Weight is still tracking as I expected it to, planning to reach new goal by December 4th. It's good to see my moving average on physicsdiet.com inching down! I like the moving average because it's much kinder and more realistic than seeing and reacting to day-to-day scale bounces.

Sue, I hope you have a terrific time! DH and I went to Hawaii (Oahu) last year, but it was a quick trip because of his limited vacation time.

Mennoly, know what you mean about the heat. I wanted to just throw on another sweater the other night, but DH felt 62 degrees in the house was a bit too low ;-)

Took a rest day from fitness yesterday, because my hips and back were seriously aching. That combined with low pressure moving out and high pressure moving in has made a big difference. I'll be up for a walk today.

Sue have a lovely trip. Hawaii sounds wonderful! I am looking forward to doing some yard work today in sultry 70 degrees after several really cold days. I will turn the heat off today. This was the earliest I have ever turned the heat on but with Dec weather in October it was necessary.

yesterday disappeared in a whirl of packing and stress - traveling anywhere is a two+day affair for us, one day to pack and leave and travel to seattle, dropping off the dog and doing errands and seeing our kids along the way. today is the actual travel day, we fly to hawaii, molokai, for two weeks.

when we arrived in seattle where we are spending the night, i was so exhausted (had not slept since midnight before work, too wound up to fall asleep in the morning after work and before the day), i did nothing on spark - so there go all my streaks again. ah well. but i still did the best i could for the day - we fit in a morning walk of about 1 mile, we surely had ST in all the lifting, and extra points for running up and down the stairs for all the things we forgot or could not find. meals were not too bad - a salad for lunch, and cheeseless pizza for dinner. a bit too much bread at the italian restaurant, and definitely short on protein. always a problem when looking for vegan options in restaurants and on the road.

at any rate, there are long walks on empty sandy beaches in my immediate future, can hardly wait! have a good wednesday!
