Fancy dinner out last night. Really no way to track. Enjoyed it and will do a five mile hike today.

I'm finding kind of a rhythm for this maintenance/inching down strategy. Eat a protein shake for breakfast and have a big salad for either lunch or dinner. Then have a moderately sized other meal, and have fruit and yogurt for a nighttime snack. MMMmmm--delicious! And I don't feel deprived.

Had a good workout today--4.3 mile run and a 45-minute strength training session.

It's getting cold here--brrrr!

No worries. As long as it hurts and I'm limping, I'm sticking to being in the water for exercise. I'm also ahead of the game as far as calories burned for the week, so I'm not overly worried about it. The doc said I should be OK by the end of the week.

Take care of yourself. You definitely don't want to get derailed by an injury. Slow and steady wins the race.

Had a little setback this morning: I decided to give the treadmill at the gym a try. Almost 2 miles in, I lost my balance for some odd reason and fell. Hit my left elbow and forearm and right knee. At first, it didn't feel too bad, so I switched to the indoor track and ran another 3 miles. Then, when I got to my cooldown and stretching, my knee really started to hurt, and I had problems especially when bending it.

So I went to urgent care, got it x-rayed and evaluated. Fortunately, there's no damage to the joint itself, but because I'm also on blood thinners, the additional blood is what is contributing to the mobility issues, so I'm home for the day, watching bad daytime TV, icing and elevating my knee.

Fortunately, tomorrow is a swimming day, and the doc said that should be alright. I should be OK in a few days and back to running.

Back down to 150.5 today, so I was happy about that, that my weekend of overeating didn't really add any weight :)

I froze the cookies! Well, most of them. I already had this week's tracker set up with them in it, so I left about a dozen out, for me and BF to eat this week. It's easier during the week since they're at home and I'm at work, and I don't let myself have any until after dinner, so my 2 allowed is plenty since I eat big dinners.

I'm a little lost on where I should be eating to maintain, I will start a separate topic on that one.

Working on maintaining at 140!

I finally ran 3 miles (31:37) which included 5 minutes of walking. At the end my knee tendons were tightening up so I walked 1/2 mile c/d, stretched and now I’m icing them and feeling quite good. Now to reduce the walking intervals and slowly incorporate hills. 7 weeks until our town’s annual 5K.

I think I’ll walk some this afternoon to take advantage of the nice weather. I’m taking my granddaughter to her dance classes after school since her mom is working late and just sitting around in the waiting area for 90 minutes doesn’t work for me.

Celia - 22K? You walked more than 12 miles? Is my math right? Good for you!

62NVON - Hope the work is good and the bill is small.

TinaJane – As they say, no news is good news.

ONEWEIGH – I’m sorry about the job stress. Good for you not overeating in response.

The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

ONEWEIGH - I'm sorry to hear of the impending cuts. That is so stressful for everyone involved.

Yesterday was Canadian Thanskgiving. The kids and I made a scaled down Thanksgiving feast... and DH got stuck at work :-( It's a real bummer to eat a festive meal with someone missing. Drank a second glass of wine and had a second slice of low-sugar crustless pumpkin pie. Up 0.8 this AM but I think more from water than anything else. It's gone as of now and that's with a LOT of coffee, water, breakfast, snack. Fingers crossed it stays gone!

Got centergy in yesterday and a 5 mile run today. Feeling good on the fitness front. Need to stop making excuses to overeat though.

There is no secret. Eat less. Move more. Love yourself. benchedbiologist.wordpress.com/

Is it only Tuesday? Stressful times at work as we had the announcement that lay-offs and position reductions are coming. We knew it was likely, but now it's set. Changes will be made by November 30, so they'll have to move quickly for people to get their 6 week notice. My little group is having another meeting today. Not sure whether it will be another "we don't know yet" or if it will be the "we've made the decision". We know one job class is going away, but they were undecided as to what to do about those people and the work they do. I don't think my personal job is at risk, but it's still stressful and likely to be so for months as the changes come down. I was pleased that I did not try to drown my worry in food last night. In spite of having an unplanned brownie at lunch (before the meeting) I was well under for calories. Not so good on exercise as one person was out (again) and it's harder to get away for breaks.

Laura: I LOVE cleaning my house (anal retentive!) as it is such a great workout. Rain, rain and more rain so all my workouts will be indoors. Here's to us! emoticon Pat

Good Morning!

Yesterday I cleaned my butt off. I actually worked up a sweat scrubbing the shower and the bathroom tile. Everything is sparkling and it feels great!

The class that I tried on Sunday caught up with me yesterday afternoon. Delayed onset soreness made me feel like I'd been hit by car while contracting swine flu. I kid you not I could barely walk. Today I feel a little better but my calves, obliques, and shoulders are still screaming. I'm thinking fitness today will be a long, easy cardio session followed by some deep stretches.

Morning, all! Bill went on a walk with me this morning. Slowed me down a little, but I'm sure not going to complain that he's trying to boost the fitness activities. He did 50 laps in the pool yesterday, too.

Didn't get much of a check in last night, because I was worn out from walking 22K on mostly brick, concrete, and asphalt. Despite a long soak afterward, it was hard to get comfortable last night, and when I did drift off, the sleep was light. Oh how I wish staff meeting would be canceled today. At least it will be a short week.

Good morning, team!

No workout last night. We have a plumber coming today, so I had to move stuff around in prep for that. Plus I was super tired. I think my body needed the break.

Eating was a little on the heavy side, so today I will remedy that AND do a longish workout to make up from yesterday. This depending on what mess I find when I get home... LOL

Have a great day!
