Another long day and just getting to SP, so just a fly-by check in before bed.

Eating in range, pretending the rugelach aren't in the kitchen (sending some home with my brother to lessen what we have in my dad's house).
Walked about an hour to walk home from the mall - a lot of hill in there, so it was a good walk.

I was a HUGE baker before I cleaned up our eating. Most cookies freeze very well. PB will definitely last longer in the freezer than out but they won't last as long as some cookies. I'm guessing a month wouldn't be a problem. I just know that before I cut back on my Christmas baking, the peanut butter cookies wouldn't be so hot by February or so.

I had a very successful weekend after a very difficult week last week. I'm starting Monday at goal weight and hope to maintain it or lose a pound or two before the nice weather leaves. Thank you for being here to help me on my way to figuring out how to maintain my weight loss!

Tanya, that's exactly what I'm thinking! I made them for my BF but he only eats a couple a day...and it made 4 dozen! Plus I think they'll start going bad soon if I don't do something.
I freeze all my baked goods. I send them with DH and and the kids for lunch/snack. I am MUCH less likely to have them if they are frozen. It's a lot easier to say no to a treat when it needs to be thawed first :-)

Well my plan of eating light yesterday to make up for Saturday didn't go so well LOL BF wanted pizza for lunch, so I had 2 slices, which was over 700 calories. I would have been alright despite that had I not had 5 of the peanut butter cookies I made... that totaled almost 600 calories by itself. So, I was around 1950 on both Saturday and Sunday. The top of my range is 1860, but I try to stick to under 1700 since my BMR with my activity level added in is 1760. Plus the sodium was way crazy... The scale shows me at 151.5, 1.5lbs heavier than Saturday! So, I'm trying to reel it in this week. I'm thinking of freezing the rest of the cookies, there's still a lot left and it's really throwing me off. I currently have 2 per day in my tracker for this week, but that adds up to over 200 calories a day.
I need to dial back a few calories in all of my meals but dinner too. Going into maintenance I needed to up each meal a bit but being even 50 calories off in the balance over a year adds up to 5 pounds. If I'm carrying 2 pounds more than I want I need to cut back a bit.
My favorite meal is breakfast, Peri, so I just plan to eat a little more then and don't eat as much at lunch and dinner. There are some who claim that's the ideal balance.

I am in the same place--I've been hovering between 131 and 133 and I'd rather be between 129 and 131. So, I'm giving myself 3 weeks to "reset." Today is day one.
Unfortunately I'm starting out without exercising today because I feel the need to give my body a second day of rest after a tough 10k run on Saturday. But I'm going to stay within my calorie range of 1200-1500. I'm finding that I've been overeating at breakfast and using up too many of my calories. I just really like breakfast food, but before I know it, my allowance for the day is half used up and it's only 9:00 am. Quick protein shakes from now on.

Got a big paperwork project done this week which meant way too much sitting but I also got in a 4+ mile run so I feel like I did OK. Eating was pretty good. Splurges for sure but nothing wild. As a result I am over goal but not by the typical Monday amount. If we didn't have Thanskgiving (DH and the kids are Canadian) today and our anniversary on Friday I'd think THIS might be the week I get 2 pounds under... finally. Trying to rest my weekend bounce from 126 up to 128 to 124 up to 126 :-)
Columbus Day means no school so a day with the gks for me. Going to put back on my rollerskates and very carefully try out a new location with them. Will stay busy and had shrimp given us, so an afternoon of veggies and shrimp on the grill.

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends! I think it makes more sense to have a harvest holiday in October rather than November.
A coworker called in sick, but it shouldn't be too hectic a day if the other one shows up. Felt bloated and queasy this morning, but breakfast helped. I really should make hot cereal more often. I cook it and portion it in the evening so it's just a matter of heating it in the microwave in the morning. If I add finely chopped pears or apples it's also a way of sneaking a little fruit into my husband.

Morning all! I forgot to set the alarm this morning, so I'll be playing catchup at my desk all day. Oh well. At least it's at a home office!
I figured out that, when I'm in a weight-loss pattern at my weight, it takes me two weeks to settle into a one-lb loss consistently. At this half-pound-per-week rate, I should reach my new goal by December 3rd. My problem is that I didn't recognize how slowly it can go, but now that I understand, I can handle it.

Well, I definitely paid for that quick time in the 5k with sore, stiff knees this morning. Fortunately, going to boot camp loosened them up a bit and ibuprofen took care of the rest of it.
Hoping to do a little more strength training and swimming tonight and excited about running tomorrow!
Happy Columbus Day (and Happy Thanksgiving to Canadians!)
I have this glorious day off. It's really gross outside so I'm going to be doing work around the house. I REALLY don't feel like it though, but we need a good deep clean.
Weekend Recap: took Friday off from fitness and had a few beers. Stayed within range.
Saturday I woke up a little late and didn't have time for any fitness before we had to leave for Nana's. Had a wonderful time. For dinner we went to a little diner and I ate a fried chicken sandwich and fries, then got hungry for 4th meal on the way back home and ate a bean burrito. I went more than double over my sodium intake!
Sunday we got free tix to the NBA preseason opener Hawks vs. Heat. I tried a new class at the gym in the morning which was fantastic. First 20 minutes was step cardio, next was strength training, then the last 20 was balance and flexibility. Had a blast at the game, but I drank a 24oz beer there, then we went to a place with the most amazing burgers and I had 2 1/2 more beers, a burger, and fries.
Today I'm going to focus on eating CLEAN because I blew it all weekend long.

WooHoo! A bunch of early birds this morning!
Susan, safe travels!
Pat, Monday is a great day for starting over. My week was pretty good, but the weekend was pretty slack, as evidenced by the scale this morning.
Good plan, TinaJane! I'm trying to get (and stay) in the low end of my range going into the holidays too.
Carol, sometimes we all need a break. I hope you enjoy yours and get to relax.
MENNOLY, I am super-sore from DOMS too. I did some different routines over the weekend and am feeling the effects. I plan to drink LOTS of water today.
LOGOULD, I struggle with weekends. I usually do okay on fitness, but not so much with nutrition.
BROOKLYN, good for you for not letting weather de-rail your fitness plans!
---------
This weekend was okay. I over-indulged, but not too terribly bad. Scale is up due to sodium, alcohol and DOMS. I am back on track today.

We’re getting a lot of rain and I’m a weather wimp, so back to the gym this morning. A short tm run followed by the aerobics/weights class that I haven’t attended in 3 months. I better pick up a lighter weight to get back into that.
The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

Still within range, but getting dangerously close to the top of it. The issue is being just to high nutritionally Friday - Sunday and not getting in ANY fitness. NO EXCUSES! I need to get it together this week. Given the insanity of my schedule week to week, I'm not too tough on myself re: hitting the gym or getting in fitness EVERYDAY. I go for as many as I can....and sometimes it is for 1/2 hour, sometimes for an hour and a half, but I have a weekly mins and calorie burn goal. I didn't make either last week, so, this week, I am shooting to not only make this weeks goal, but to try to make up for last weeks shortage as well.
Evenings are becoming my problem. I am just hungry, grazing in the evening....even too much good stuff will put me over - and has. May have to start forcing myself to bed a bit earlier - it could just be that I am more tired than usual. That often starts a feeding frenzy.
So, a couple of adjustments and hopefully I'll see my weight back down closer to the midrange by the end of the week.

Good Morning! I got through yesterday with only a slight weight gain this morning. However the muscle ache I am feeling may mean I am retaining water in my muscles rather than gaining any weight. I did very vigorous WATP and may have strained my shoulder. I also feel it in my thighs. Between my 5K walk and WATP I did 123 minutes of exercise yesterday. My goal for the week is to do 120 minutes of exercise each day this week. Todays weather forecast may make it difficult for todays exercise to be yard work so I may end up doing more WATP.

Had a busy week last week so didn't get in my normal exercise routine, but did ok. This week isn't looking great for the maintain diet/exercise. We are going away for a long weekend. No gym at motel and no place to walk from motel without placing oneself in harms way. The relaxation should be good though. Keeps the cortisol level down. So far ok with weight, 2.5 pounds under my goal.
Have a sparkling day! Carol

Done with first week of my pre-holiday plan and am happy to say that I dropped a pound. At this rate, I'll be in good stead and at the low end of my range by the end of October. I still included my splurge meal and managed to keep it somewhere between my weight loss plan splurge meals and my maintenance ones. Now on to Week 2! Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

took it easy with my workouts last week (felt fatigue) and didn't track as well as I could have/should have and am now 1 pound over goal. New week; new goals. I hope you all have a great week! Pat

ok, enough of all that HM celebrating - i was at the high end of my calories yesterday (probably even over it) and my weight is definitely creeping up there. took two slow walks with DD for a total of 5 miles, but it didn't seem to help... much:-) will get back on track today. and send the rest of the butterscotch brownies home with DD... we have traveling ahead this week, so it's going to be a rough one as far as keeping up goes... and i already have a full workload, and it's only monday (not complaining, full workload pays the bills!)
have a great week, everyone!
