I love it when jeans fit good! It's one of the greatest feelings in the world!
I'm gonna go for a run, then take the kids to see Frankenweinie (I have decided that I will have popcorn). Then we're going to have dinner at my favorite salad bar!

Eating around my range, walking, drinking lots of water, and generally having fun - plus my jeans fit just fine - so I'm doing well!

Happy Friday everyone! I'm pleased to report that I've had a great week after a somewhat ropy one last week. The first week of my pre-holidays plan went really well and I'm inching my way toward to lower end of my range. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since.

It has been a crazy week and my maintenance is suffering. I participated in an all day golf thing for work Monday, welcomed my 7th grandchild into the world on Tuesday, celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday on Wednesday, celebrated my granddaughter's 3rd birthday yesterday, and have another granddaughter's 6th birthday tonight. I feel like I'm lost and everyone matters but me and I think I'm getting a yeast infection. However, I'm trying to be positive. After tonight, there shouldn't be any more birthday cakes and I should be able to get some "me" time over the weekend. Hopefully I'll get in some exercise and get rid of the 2.5 excess pounds soon. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend also!

Thank you everyone for inquiring about how I am feeling. I think I'm up to par now (whatever that is).
My friend, t he owner of the home health group told me his nurse could watch me put the ace bandage on and give me some pointers.
She has never offered when I told her I didn't know how and was afraid I would fall.
The report from the doc was good, only he had a report from the nurse saying I refused to put the ace bandage on. I explained to him why. He said he thought I could do it but don't know how to do it. The doc says it costs $100.00 for someone to put it on. Now that is outrageous.
He wants me to use it to keep the swelling down so I don't have to take too many diuretics and have the problem I had when I thought I was going to beat you all to heaven.

I got my hair done this morning, then had lunch with my friends afterwards. Now I am here waiting for the nurse.

Think I'll take a nap while I wait. emoticon

Boss cut me loose early yesterday so I decided tot go an outlet mall. I want some new knee high boots. I used to not be able to wear them since my legs were too big. I didn't find any boots that I liked though :( Didn't find a whole lot of other clothes either. Why is it that now I can fit into "normal" clothes I can't seem to find any, but when I was bigger, I always saw lots of cute things in smaller sizes? LOL I did buy a couple pairs of jeans and a few tops.

It's pretty cold here in Colorado, and snowed a bit last night. This kind of weather makes me want to stay at home and bake cookies :) That might be a good test of wills actually, to bake some cookies and see how well I do at resisting them. BF would appreciate the cookies at least.

Celia, I forgot it's a 3 day weekend. One of the problems with being retired. I'll have to make sure not to go to the grocery store on Monday as I usually do.

I was very low this morning, 101.2. Before this challenge thing here on Spark, I never considered any weight "too low" because I always know the weight will go back to normal goal someday.

49 years ago today I started "going steady" with DH. Yeah, I was 16.
This morning I had my first Medicare physical. Well, that sure went by fast.

I'll go for a walk before lunch and get in some ST (baby steps forward here) before the flu shot and pneumonia shot stiffen up my arms.

BTW, I remember the exact date in 1963 because it's engraved on the ankle bracelet he gave me and I still have in my jewelry box.

MJZ: I think you’ll like quinoa. Couscous is a nice change too. Both aren’t easy for me to find out here in the country.

Good luck CatMagnet (5K) & Swede_Su (Half Mary) & anyone else racing this weekend.

The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

Good luck with the quinoa--it's one of my favorites. I'm up a pound this morning due to a much needed dinner out. It was Lebanese food, not outlandish (grilled meat, rice) but enough quantity and salt to put me up. Woke up too early again this morning and slept fitfully between 4 and alarm time at 6. Really looking forward to sleeping until dawn (if I can!) tomorrow.

Before it was a job to eat less calories, now it seems to be more of a job to eat more calories. Easy if I added the wrong foods - and last night I did just that with a magnum ice cream bar! And still under bmr for the day. I did go to new grocery store and bought quinoa (new to me) and checked out the other bins for healthy selections. Also have two days in a row on the bike- pushing my way back.

Had an AWESOME strength training session last night with the personal trainer and got some great ideas for some new exercises to refresh my ST routines. Can't wait to put them into practice!

I also had an AMAZING run this morning. I was going to just do my usual route, which is 5.2 miles, but I felt so good, I decided to push myself a little further; next thing I know, I ran 6.5 miles! WOAH! I didn't mean to run that far, but it feels good to know that I can run a 10k.

Sunday, I run my first 5k race (though I've done a couple of virtual ones here on SP). 3.1 miles in a large cemetery in order to raise funds for a bereavement camp for children. Great cause and it sounds like it will be fun. We're supposed to get a MAJOR cool-down (low 80s today, high 60s tomorrow and Sunday in Memphis), so it should be decent running weather for the race.

Food-wise, I'm still on track, keeping at the low end of the range. I should know more as to how long I continue in losing mode next Wednesday when I get my fat percentage done again (I get it done every 4 weeks).

It's a cold, windy, but sunny Friday!

Not sure if it's going to be a run day or not. The wind is very bitter. May just wait till later and walk instead. I've been having sugar cravings lately and it doesn't help that I've been baking, etc. either. My kids are getting a bit sick of pumpkin spice. I just laugh. It won't be long and it'll be cookie baking time. I do keep my calories pretty much in check even though I have these sweet indulgences. Unfortunately they don't leave much room for healthy calories. Today I started out with eggs. I need to really start pushing my protein up.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Luck Susan! emoticon

Good luck with that HM, Susan!

Yummy talk of fall recipes. I'm trying to decide between a sweet potato chili and chicken/white bean chili.

I am so glad it's Friday before a long weekend, because, I NEED to get moving. Until yesterday, I had done almost no exercise this week, but my trainer got me jazzed yesterday with ST. Seems her college-age daughter is challenging her mom in bench press, so we worked on that yesterday and tied daughter with 75 pounds for a whopping 1 rep. I know my trainer can bench 95, and I doubt she weighs much more than that. She had me try 85 once, and I got my 1 rep then, but 75 was all I could manage yesterday. On the plus side, I'm getting closer to a full set of 12 reps at 55 pounds. Slow, steady progress.

Happy FRIDAY everyone!

Yesterday I played hooky and left work at lunch. Took my bf's fat dog on a walk around the lake and made pumpkin chili. First time using that recipe and OMG was it good-- and less than 1cal per gram. Tomorrow I'm waking up early, getting in some cardio, and then taking the 3 hour drive to see my Nana in the mountains. It's Nana & Papaw's wedding anniversary and we're going to bring some flowers to his grave.

SWEDE_SU-- so incredibly impressed that you're running a half! Good luck and have fun :)

Good morning!

Good luck on the half, Susan. I'm sure you'll be out and about tomorrow morning before I am even up.

LOGOULD, just reading your post made me tired! Sounds like you have a plan, and that is a recipe for success.

MENNOLY, tomorrow is our last warm day.

THEIS58, look at you maintaining like a rock star!

Yesterday went very well for me. I ate great during the day. I did a tough cardio workout, then cooked a healthy dinner. My DH is due back in town sometime today. I will probably take a rest day from working out. My legs feel pretty heavy.

Renaissance Festival starts tomorrow. We were going to go Sunday, but it looks very chilly and rainy, so I'm hoping DH isn't too tired to go tomorrow when it is supposed to be sunny and 80-ish.

I was rewarded with my hard work lately by a number on the scale I haven't seen in decades: 132.6. That's actually a little lower then DH likes, so I need to level off. I've been kind of up and down lately hovering between 135 and 140. I like 135 better, but don't like to be much below. I'm sure pumpkin beer at RenFest will bump me up a couple. =)

I hope everyone has a fabulous day and weekend!

Long, long day yesterday, but nutritionally very good if not just a bit higher in my range than I like. Seems that happens when I have one of those days that is go, go, go for 16-18 hours and I start to get too tired. Work is 7-4 today and tomorrow. Have the bag packed for the gym and will do abs and maybe a run after that, if not it'll be abs and group strength. Just going to have to wait and see what I have the energy for. Usually, Sunday is my "off" day, at least I don't work at work, but it is a lighting Sunday, which means that I will be up just as early as normal to get to the church by 7 and will be there until 12:30ish, so, with work on Saturday, not much down time any time soon. Work next week M-F and my next 5K is a week from this Saturday. Sunday the 14th, I'll have some time to review my weight, measurements and goal progress and re-evaluation. Would really like to be at mid goal weight range or on the lower end by then. Consistency will be key and it will be getting tougher as the temps continue to fall. Best wishes to everyone who is racing this weekend! Everybody have a GREAT one!!!

yesterday i took the last run before tomorrow's HM - just 3 miles plus warm up and cool down. and it was COLD! well below 32 when we started, and it took about a mile and a half before my hands warmed up - note to self, bring gloves! the weather forecast says a low of high 40s in bellingham, which means it should hopefully be 50s by the time the race starts.

will probably take a walk this a.m. before driving across the mountains, and ST is on the plan too... have a great day!
