Saw the doc today for a follow up. He wants me to put an ace bandage on but I am afraid I would fall in the floor and don't know how to put them on. He said I can do it. emoticon

I keep learning how to think! ...meaning I used to spend a fair amount of energy mentally kicking myself for poor food choices, then feeling bad, then questioning, etc.

Yesterday, I began mentally acknowledging some screw-ups over the past 2 days BUT countering it with some of the things / choices I had made that were healthy. Since this is all about LIFESTYLE, I have to take the ebs and flows and keep moving in a positive direction. (ie. I'm NOT a total screw-up!)

I want to hold on to my maintenance range this month which isn't easy during this Halloween month so I am planning not to handle the trick or treat candy all by myself. My husband buys it and hides it from me. In the past I have managed to find it and lose control. This year I am not going to taste even a little peice. I am going to put the bowl right beside his recliner so he can see it while I am greeting the cute little trick or treaters. Then tell him to immediately hide the left-overs in a safe place for himself. He loves to have something to give to the grandchildren or visitors. I just don't have the self-control he does. emoticon

Hi everyone! Got my third day of my pre-holiday plan done. Feels great to be solidly on track with a goal and plan. Low end of my range here I come!

My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since.

Finally saw another small move in the scale this morning! Solidly in the middle of my maintenance range now - YEAH! Must be a reward for racing home after work to make it to my running group and doing a little over 5K in the twilight with a headlamp on my head (since we run on nature paths). It was quite the battle of wills with myself - really crummy busy day that left me exhausted, mentally and emotionally drained if not physically. The run did me good. My pace was about the same as Sunday's race, which was hillier (sp?) so I was doing a pretty good clip for an evening run after working all day.

This morning came early for a "day off". Did 4 hours of volunteer work at the local VFW w/ my employer (Home Depot). We are rehabing the facility as our celebration of service project, so I stained several hundred feet of wainscoting and mouldings. Home now and puppydog sitting for my sister and getting chores done and things in order for the remainder of the week. Tonight will be 1/2 hour of abs and 1 hour of ST. Tomorrow only time for about a 5K in between work and lighting practice. Abs and ST again on Friday and sometime this weekend, need to get in a long run.

Time to get back to the chores though - going to be doing everything indoors today - rainy, blech kind of day. Hope everyone else is doing well.

I hit my "max high" yesterday at the gym--first time in 3 months. I'm going to assume it is TOM which is due w/in 3 days. But it is also a reminder that I can't slide w/ a couple of cookies here, a muffin there, and some chocolate to boot! (And we won't included the ice cream.) Argh!

This is how I excuse small amounts which ultimately add up to #'s!

Buck stops here. Be wise. Be cautious. Be balanced! ...because life continues to bring "teeter totter" situations on a daily basis.

The maintenance bounce is a pain. Yesterday was 104.2, this morning 101.8. We went out to dinner last night and I couldn't think of anything safe to eat, so I just drank coffee. That shouldn't have resulted in a loss, but it's a lot of salt I didn't eat.

I have to admit, for accountability's sake, that I weighed in at 132.5 today for my official weekly weigh-in, which is half a pound over my maintenance range of 128-132. Every time I've tried to get back on track, there has been an event to derail me: birthday party, surprise birthday picnic, and now my actual birthday dinner out on Friday. Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to the birthday hoopla being over so I can really buckle down. 128 here I come!

Way to go Jerseygirl! I have a problem with body fat % too, and I am at the lowest weight I can safely go. This is sure an early rising team! People are doing well! I am going to a Probus meeting this morning and they always have timbits, but I have no problem resisting. I have a good breakfast and simply don't feel like eating anything more for a long time after. Because of a bout of severe runs, I lost weight and am going to try acidophilis treatment as its a chronic problem. I was in a lot of pain this morning so very little sleep as usual. I did take a painkiller and it got some of it off. I have bridge, then I will try to make it through advanced step and boxercise this evening. The bootcamp really killed my upper body muscles yesterday, but hoping they will be loosened up by the evening. I really needed the good ST. Getting a hot tub after really saves me from major muscle aches I am sure.
ONEWEIGH, that is great news! I am fortunate they never tried prednisone on me (everything else though) I have very severe osteoporosis on top of my RA, but all the joints I have lost have been due to the RA. I think my right hip is the next to go as that is what is casuing a lot of my current pain.
Its Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, and I will have a short weekend visit with my Mom and my family is going to be all there for a rare treat. I have to work the holiday Monday as the bridge club only ever closes on Christmas day :P. My brother, who has no barriers on his eating, will be bringing over his deep fryer for smores treats and onion rings. He and his wife are very obese. She is pre-diabetic, but can't control her eating as her family does not. I have no interest in the deep fried stuff at all. But Mom may buy a tuxedo cake from Costco which is very hard for me to resist as its so chocolately, otherwise I am not into sweets that much.
Have a wonderful Wedneesday all!

Oh Christie, don't you love those days when you're exhausted before you get out the door in the morning? emoticon I took cat #2 to the vet and it is presumed she also has ringworm. We'll start treating her for it without waiting for the culture to grow. I had my annual visit to my rheumatologist. The good news is: there is no sign of my inflammatory arthritis. The bad news is: I'm developing osteoarthritis in the same joints! He calls that, "Adding insult to injury." He does say that on the whole, calcifications are better than erosions, but either way, I'm going to have achy hands. On an up note, we're going to try (again) to wean me off prednisone. At this point the side effects are greater than the potential benefits. Pred has already (we presume) caused osteopenia. My weekly produce box was on the doorstep this morning--fresh veggies really clutter up a refrigerator! I went over on calories yesterday, in part because of splitting a sugar sweetened artisan soda with my husband. It was good, but 75 calories for 6 oz.?! Amazing that people put away gallons of that stuff every week. It's good, but gee...for that many calories I could have FOOD!

3.5 miles done, 2.5 of it running. The rehab seems to be holding.
Now off to sing at a nursing home.
Maybe a walk this afternoon if the rain holds off and then that ST. Sigh! Starting with small baby steps, AGAIN!

Good Morning! I'm ready to have a better day. I did end up doing double my planned minutes of exercise yesterday, after being so unmotivated. But at night I had a sweet and salty binge. That's the second binge in 3 weeks and I want to figure out what is triggering these. I can't let it go on, or I will start gaining.

I have to attend a church BBQ today with the 90 year old woman I am companion to. She eats like a bird and eats gluten free, so she doesn't comment if I leave food on my plate. Or if I don't choose many foods she doesn't push me to take more. She does say "aren't you going to take dessert?" So I take something and eat a bite or two, (I choose something I don't absolutely love, so it's not hard to eat only a little!) This is the second year we are going, and I at least remember the kind of food they offer. I'm actually looking forward to the hunt for healthy choices!

It's still raining here but I'm not feeling so blue today. I have decided that I need to pamper myself a bit and planning that out in my head makes me happy :-) I woke up to a nice rain and some thunder in the distance; it was so lovely! I hope you all have a wonderful day emoticon

It`s a "hopeful" day..I hope to get a lot of cleaning done and get my walk in too. I have been overly busy the last 2 weeks and have slacked off with keeping the house up. Now, it`s only the 2 of us and it doesn`t reallly get dirty but I am a clean freak and believe that if I clean regularly then it will never be so bad that it will be difficult to get clean. So, it`s going to be a beautiful day, the sheets are getting washed and put on the line to dry, windows open and the cleaning will be happening!!

Good morning!

I had a good run this morning and am relaxing a little before I have to get ready to take off for my doctor's appointment.

I also noticed that I dropped a couple of more pounds this week. Next Wednesday, I get my fat percentage tested at the gym, so at that point, I'll be able to figure out what to do as far as starting my transition into maintenance.

Well, I'd better chop up my green pepper, get my lunch packed and get ready to take off! Have a wonderful day, everyone! :)

I think it's a coffee kind of day for me too, 62NVON emoticon

Yesterday, I felt like I got a grip back on my nutrition finally! Skipped the mexican catered lunch that was brought in and ate my homemade soup. For dinner it was pizza night, and I made 2 small single-serve pizzas for myself instead of trying to use my will-power to not eat an entire medium-sized one. So I have a healthy pre-tracked lunch for today.

Today is CSA delivery day, so I'll spend the evening in the kitchen prepping healthy meals. For ST I'll go to yogalates at the gym. Cardio will be run with dog. I also have to clean... ah! The tasks are piling up already!

Good morning!

I've been up since 3:30 am. I had to get the hubs up and out the door to DC for the next few days. I decided to not go back to sleep since I get up at 5:30 anyway. I did a 40-minute cardio workout, loaded and ran the dishwasher, stripped the bed and washed the linens. Left home at 6:20 am instead of my usual 6:40-ish and in to work early. There will be much coffee consumed today.

Good morning,
Had a good day yesterday. 30 minutes cardio and 60 minutes weight training. Body fat has always been an issue, even at maintenance weight. Good news yesterday, body fat down to 24.7%. Finally I've made the "good" range!

First day back in the office after a nice break, albeit one with too much food and drink. Fortunately, the water weight (almost 5 pounds of it) went away quickly.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

good morning,
so good to be home - went for a 4.5 mile run in the morning, an afternoon walk, and forced myself to pick up my wimpy 3 lb weights and do ST before bed.

i thought nutrition was ok yesterday, but we ate at a thai restaurant, no appetizers but i cleaned up the plate (not all the rice) and weight seems high today. must be salty food and water, i hope...

meanwhile, i'm on the "get back to the low end" for the holidays wagon. time to shape up!
