Had a rough night last night. Came home from the gym to a call from my dad saying that my mom was in the hospital with a pulmonary embolism. She's doing alright, and she should be released on Thursday, but the thought of possibly losing my mom was just really scary.

I did my swimming workout this morning and as I was coming home, I knew I had to work from home today, and I'm so glad I did. I was able to get some work done, fall apart when I needed to, and get lots of love from my two cats that were glad that I was home. Tonight, I felt restless, so I went back to the gym to do a mixed bag of cardio and was able to talk to a friend, which helped put things in perspective and calmed me down a bit. God bless gym buddies!!!

Nutrition-wise, I did alright today as well. Kept on the low side of my range, since I'm still in losing mode (plus the fact that I didn't really feel like eating most of the time anyways).

Tomorrow, I go in for my medication check (warfarin) and a talk with the doc about maintenance planning and see what his input is. He's been very impressed with my weight loss this year, so that's certainly not an issue. I'm also looking forward to seeing what my vitals are this time around. :)

Had my annual checkup (that I've been avoiding for the last two years because of being afraid of my doctor's scolding about my weight). Got the metaphorical gold star today! She was thrilled with my weight, my exercise, my eating, etc. Only suggestion she had for me was to increase my stretching.

She also said that the damage I did to my body while I was overweight is not permanent; that now that I'm at a lower weight my healthy profile is just like I'd never been overweight (unless i gain it back). Not sure if I totally believe that, but it is somewhat comforting.

Had to fast for my labs, so I'm going to be under on calories today. Also, ran 5 miles and did ST. Feeling virtuous. Hope it's enough to get me to the middle of my range; I've been hanging out at the top since my birthday party, and it's not a good-feeling place to be.

Lost 65 pounds just in time for my 40th birthday. Now maintaining my weight loss, training for a half marathon and lifting weights seriously. Love my body and love my life. It was all worth it!

Good food yesterday and back to back GroupEx classes at the gym. Half the weekend gain is gone with no troublesome eating occasions on the horizon.

I hear those of you who are starting to think of getting to the low end of your ranges for the holidays. I'll be on board October 13 :-) My anniversary is 10/12 and I plan to splurge but after that I need to 'get serious' pre-holidays. Maybe even, gasp, go back to tracking calories. Interestingly, the holidays were not an issue for me last year at all but I don't want to tempt fate!

Electro...thanks for the spank! I got myself dressed for the pool and dragged myself down to the Y. I had almost the whole pool to myself which is how I love it. Needless to say, I feel better for having gone swimming. Now to do some ST. I hope you manage to get on the stick too!

October already! 3 more months to end of year. -- We've had unusually dry days over the past 6 weeks. It has helped me be able to fit in moments of exercise by walking wherever I happen to be. I just make sure my walking shoes are in my vehicle...and off I go!

I like getting my fiber from fruits & veggies. There are quite a few options this "harvest time" of year!

Doing well today, fall is my favorite time of year, and all the leaves are changing and the weather is cooling off here in Colorado.

Weighed in at 150.5. I also witnessed the effectiveness of having a high fiber/protein diet. Yesterday I had 125 grams of protein and 27 grams of fiber (while keeping my carbs below the range), and I felt very satiated all day long, while only eating 1400 calories. On Sunday I only had 70 grams of protein and 17 grams of fiber (and above my ranges on fat... stupid bar food :-P), but almost 1600 calories and I felt hungry all day. I'm usually below my ranges on fiber so this shows I need to work on getting more fiber in my diet.

Working on maintaining at 140!

Yesterday I had a reason I couldn't get my planned workout in, though I did end up with 10,000 steps. Today is another story altogether. I have the time but I'm not motivated to work out. I think it is laziness getting the best of me today. I'm sure I'll end up doing it...probably out of boredom. I don't have any other commitments or plans for the rest of the day. I've been on SP for almost 2 hours, which is 4 times the amount of time I usually spend. I haven't even done a blog in all that time. I think i'm being lazy and also a little rebellious. Someone needs to spank me!

Now I remember how hard it is for you mothers with kids, especially when they get sick and you have an outside job that expects you to be there.

I'm hanging out with my 10 yo under the weather granddaughter today So no workout for me. I will eat healthy though. My daughter is very much into serving her family healthy food. There's NO junk in this house!

Didn't feel very ambitious yesterday so only had one walking break. Did OK on food except for staying up too late and NEEDED a piece of cheese. I'm seeing my rheumatologist today for my yearly check in. I think it's the change of season and not the fact that I made an appointment to see him that has caused a flare! Taking cat 2 to the vet after work today to see if she has caught the kitten's ringworm. I cut up an acorn squash after dinner last night (without damaging myself--hurray! emoticon ) so that when I get home I'll have no excuse not to make the pressure cooker risotto I talked myself out of making last night.

Ugh, the scale was not pretty today, but judging how close I need to stay to the bathroom, the long weekend weight gain will end up being mostly water weight. I did do my share of eating my way through Munich, though, and I indulged in veggie pizza with my cousin and his wife the last night in Germany. Glad I started at a couple of pounds below my goal, but it's time to get back on the wagon.

I put a few pounds back on but still under goal a bit. I find myself more conscientious about what I eat now that I'm at goal then when I was losing weight to get to goal - emoticon

Good Morning!

So... a little embarrassed to post up here with 0 fitness minutes 2 days in a row. emoticon

A friend from back home was in town on business and dropped by the house last night, so I used that as my excuse to skip the gym. In actuality, it was a combination of the suprise visit, the nonstop rain, and the "comfort food" meal we ate for supper. I just couldn't bring myself to get off the couch.

But, small victory, just now I tracked my dinner (including the Twizzlers I ate for dessert!) and it turned out to be not as bad as I thought. Yesterday wasn't a complete failute, and it'll be easier than expected to get back on track.

Have a good day everyone.

Still trying to shave off just a few pounds, and my weight stays stubbornly where it's been for the past 5 months. This is not going to be easy. I've dropped my calorie range by 150 calories a day and have pretty much stuck with that for the past 5 days, but I think this is going to take a LONG time.

I am in the same boat. I am at the high end of my range, but really want to be in the low end. I am going to work on cutting back carbs and increasing exercise to see if that does it. Fortunately it is just 2 pounds.

Hi everyone! October's here and I've started my pre-holiday planning. I'd like to get back down to the low end of my range to preempt fallout from the indulgences I'll allow myself. I figure by starting now, I'll only have to make small changes since I'm only talking about a few pounds. Started yesterday by shaving 100 calories off my usual maintenance meal plan. I'll see how it goes and will make other adjustments as necessary. Hope everyone's having a great day!

My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since.

good morning!
finally back home after a 6 hour plane ride, errands in the Big City (seattle), lunch with DD, then 5 hours home over the mountains after sitting in traffic for an hour while firefighters put out a fire at the side of the road!

survived the trip with too many meals - starting the workday early, and taking so long to get home, and needing to stay awake - it all adds up, though really, the only "bad" choice i made was a power bar just before crossing the mountains. weighed at high end for the evening weigh-in (yes, i'm "bad", i weigh myself more than once a day), though i figure it was water weight from the trip too. and the important thing was that i *did* get back on the scale because it means i'm in control; if i don't weigh myself, pounds creep back.

fitness was walking through airports and suitcase hoisting. looking forward to today's run, it will be the last before the HM on saturday! and looking forward to returning to tracking and cooking in my own kitchen. i gave up tracking altogether for the trip.

have a good tuesday!
