Had a good Oct.1. Got my run in and the dogs walked and laundry done. I still have to clean. That'll be Tues.
Had an opportunity to hang out with my daughter and her children for most of the day today. I had planned on a swim at the Y but lost my window of opportunity. Well, I hadn't see them for two weeks due to our trip, and it was a much needed time together. I realized I was due for a day off from working out, so it worked out ok. It's date night tonight, so maybe hubby and I will walk the mall after supper. It's rainy today so he won't be working out in the yard tonight.
We eat at the same bunch of places when we eat out, all places that have nutrition charts online. I have learned what are my best choices at each of these places, so I don't have to stress over what to select.

I'm still hanging out at 151. I'm thinking my 150 weigh in over a week ago was a fluke. So, this week I'm going to eat a bit lighter (stay under 1600 instead of 1700) to try and get that last pound off.
This weekend was good, Saturday I ate a lot but didn't go over the top of my range. Sunday I was pretty proud of myself. We go to a bar to watch football on Sundays, and pretty much nothing they have on the menu is all that healthy. But, during football season they're running a special where you can pick a sausage and they'll grill it for you. They had a spicy italian chicken sausage on there so I picked that instead of my usual greasy bar food, and it was super good! I think I've found my new order for Sundays. It comes w/ kettle chips instead of fries too, so that's better, and I only ate about 1/3 of them. Also, the bar owner gave me a "bonus" sweet italian sausage, I guess they had extras. I just had 2 bites then gave it away to my BF... big deal for me cause I LOVE any kind of sausages, cured meats, etc. BF ordered Poutine and I only had about 5 fries off his plate, so that's another move in the right direction.... poutine is so good and hard to stop eating!

Had a splurgy weekend. Hospital doctor's appointment for DD on Friday afternoon so we went out to dinner afterwards. Splurged on a WW calzone and was up big time on Saturday - very salty. I edged down Sunday and today after eating well Saturday and Sunday but having a drink or two each day. In the upper half of my range but it's deserved.
Signed up for a 5K in 2 weeks. That'll be number 3. This one is just for fun - a way to get a run in on the weekend, help a charity, and get the family out of the house to do something fun since a festival follows the 5K.

I always figure that a plateau happens when your body is "rearranging" itself. If you keep watching what you eat, and keep exercising, your body is losing fat and gaining muscle, even if the scale doesn't change. If you judge progress through how clothes fit or your measurements, I think there is generally positive change going on even when the scale isn't going down.
Happy October indeed! Starting the month out at nearly my lowest weight (143.6, lowest has been 143.3) after running a half marathon yesterday and eating well afterward. Hoping to keep moving the scale a little lower by the end of the month; I'd like to lose another 5 pounds or so to be under 140, but I'm pretty happy with where I am right now.

Happy October; have a great month
I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, NOTHING & NOBODY will hold me down. I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.
Well I jumped on the scale in eager anticipation and my weight hasn't moved! These plateaus are such a pain but it is better than a gain.
Lots to do at work and once I am home: exercise, getting things ready for tomorrow and knitting.
Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

Well today I was suppose to hit my goal weight but didn't succeed! Again. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The last few weeks ive been so close. I gave myself plenty of time to lose half to 1 lb a week. Everytime I get close my weight goes back up. Does this mean I need to eat more. I cant eat less because I am a runner and currently in training for 2 half marathon's. This is why I put 1/2-1lb lose so I can stay fueled for my runs. I understand you shouldn't diet while training but I'm still in process of losing baby weight.
Any suggestions... should I eat more? I set my new goal to the end of the month but one of my half marathon's come 21st. So I need to stay fueled. Some days I go over whats listed because of my long runs. Currently it has me at a range 1200-1550. I get 2 rest days a week and I try to stay on low end on those days. Guess I could give myself more time again to lose.

Marathon goal is 4 hrs but since this is my first marathon as long as I cross the finish line I will be happy! :)
My weight is up a half pound this morning, but that's not surprising due to the large amount of high volume foods I ate yesterday. Trying to use up the melon so I can get to the berries before they rot. I also made lentil eggplant mole chili from Isa Chandra Moskowitz's Appetite for Reduction. It makes a satisfying 2 cup bowl of yum for about 220 calories. Even my skeptical husband liked it. Looking forward to more of it for lunch today. Now, on to Monday!
Congrats on being at the end of the tunnel, BIGPAWSUP! That's great!
So I didn't go swimming yesterday. I realized that I really needed a day off, and though I feel a little guilt for missing a workout, my body feels a lot better.
I tried a new class this morning: boot camp! I was able to do most of it, except for the burpees (agility is NOT my strong point!), and I plan to do some additional strength training after work to cover the muscle groups I didn't really touch on much in class (legs and obliques) and also do a quick run.
My nutrition is good, though I overdid it a little on the grapes yesterday (though I stayed in my ranges). Looking forward to my workout tonight, then hitting the pool tomorrow.

Ahh.. my favorite month.
Boss is gone again this week, so during my downtime I'm going to get serious about setting some goals. I really, really need to start focusing on ST. Doesn't matter what size you are if you're soft!
LOGOULD brought up a good question that I've been wondering about as well... holiday preparation. There are SO many opportunities to get off track. For now, I'll attempt to eat at the low end of calorie range, schedule one extra cardio session per week, and plan my indulgences.
Roomie's mom is coming in town for the long weekend, and she is a blast! Looking forward to it, but I need to save room all week for the bottle(s) of wine I'll drink with her.
Where did September go?? Time to get that pumpkin carved! I had a so-so weekend--one day went over in calories, the other went over in bloody maries, but the week is always easier for me, so here we go again!

Happy October all - safe travels to all of you! Staying on track can be a real challenge, so I look forward to hearing how all of you are stepping up to overcome the obstacles.
Doing really well with the no snooze streak - still haven't been able to get the early morning fitness thing going on work days though. Today is work 8-5 and then meet with my Bible study community group tonight 6-8(ish). Somewhere in there, probably at lunch, I'll be putting together sandwiches for our snack at group.
Signed up last night for a 10K at the end of October. Would love to do another 5K (the Hot Chocolate), but that one is $40, and with the holiday, car registration and insurance coming up, don't think I can put together another entry fee at this time. I will be picking up my headlamp today, though. With evening runs a couple of nights a week - still trying to keep up running outside as long as possible, a headlamp is essential. Going to need to get reflective gear too. Hope my gift certificate gets here soon and that they have some selection at the Nike Outlet.
Hoping to have my nutrition in line....tough on community group night when I don't have a clue what is being served. At least I can plan for the mini sandwiches and a couple of backed sweet potato chips, but staying near the bottom of my range is probably out of the question.
Let's make Oct. a GREAT month and get set up for success through the upcoming holidays. How do all of you prepare and set yourselves up to succeed and maintain through the holidays?

I had a pretty good weekend, eating-wise. Ended up taking a rest day on Saturday, but worked out hard yesterday. Lunches are packed for the next three days, and healthy dinners are planned. I'm looking forward to a kick-ass week!
Have a GREAT day!

Over 110 pounds gone for good!
Lots of traveling going on. Nothing that exciting here.
First as much running as I can do before the expected rain. Then singing at a nursing home followed by a massage at noon. Sometime during the afternoon I want to pick up those dumbbells - starting small and slowly there. Choral rehearsal tonight.

Good morning! Good traveling for those of you flying today. I am planning on working outdoors this morning since rain is predicted for tonight and I would like to sow grass seed before it does.

My husband and I head for London tomorrow and I am already thinking about careful airline eating. Now I realize airport walking is exercise! Sometimes I find a corner to do a few squats and stretches in...tho it is unusual to see in an airport! (wish they had areas for it...) up early today, ready to begin an exciting week.

Sue, opposite for us as we're headed back from Europe (assuming the already delayed plane doesn't break again). Like you, though, exercise is walking through airports and hefting bags. Have a good trip!

OH, I have a fitness funny - I had to see a dr today, and as he's prodding my stomach he hits my pedometer, but doesn't say anything - so I thought I should say, "I wear a pedometer" - he said, "Oh,yeah, I guess that's what that was."
I had to laugh!

We're in Vegas - walked 10+ miles, ate horribly but only about 1200 cals so what can I say, I enjoyed the food (matzah ball soup and cheesecake at the Carnegie) and I probably burned it off.

oh my - it is october!!
starting the day in a confusion of time zones; work is in sweden, my laptop says washington - but i'm still here in new york, somewhere in between.
i have to work now, then heading for the airport at 7 a.m. where i will look for good food choices for the plane, and treat myself to a massage. a few errands await in seattle when i arrive, then a long drive over the mountains. should be gorgeous, but it will be a long one...
my plan for the day is portion control and airport walking. ST is suitcase lifting.
