My daughter is home from the hospital today - staying with me. There will be new changes in my life. So now when "real" life happens, what happens to my maintenance? I have been here quite a few times with family and crisis medical - so hopefully I can learn from the different experiences. One of first times I stayed at hospital day and night with dd and pretty much quite eating all together - lowest weight ever when we went home. When I am really stressed, it is hard to eat. Trying to watch this time and remember to care for my body. My maintenance goal is to stay healthy - at least for now in eating.

Walked about 5.5 miles today, cals came in about 30 over my max range. So should balance out. Plus I'm in cold Minneapolis, I swear I'm burning extra calories to stay warm!

Ran 10.5 miles today, so I could have really splurged, but kept my calories at 1750 instead. Hoping to get down a bit in my range. Weighed in at 131.0 for my official weekly weigh-in this morning, which is exactly the same as where I was one week ago. Yea! It is possible for me to maintain!

Hi everyone! Did well with scaling back on my calories today to make up for my week of celebrations. Boy, do I NOT want to be doing this often. I miss those couple of hundred calories a day a lot, lol. I'm going to continue this through the weekend (apart from Friday, which is the last of my celebration days) and will then decide if I want to up my calories again or stay down for a few more days. Hoping I can do the former! Have been keeping up with my usual workouts so all's well in that department.

I was able to undo 2 days of overeating damage yesterday by eating within the low end of my calorie range to lose weight and getting in a good Curves workout. I plan to work on the remaining 4 pounds by eating the same number of calories tonight and getting in a good cardio workout at the gym. If I keep at it, I should be back at goal in no time! Phew!

Well after my good day yesterday, I weighed in at 152 today :( Our bodies are so weird. A little frustrated by it but I know I didn't gain 2 lbs of fat in 3 days. So, I'll just go with it.

Working on maintaining at 140!

Great idea for a birthday gift for your Mom Laura! So sorry you had such a loser at work to deal with :(
Well done maintaining on your trip Lori, that is super!!!
That is awesome your smoke cleared and you can enjoy a hike Susan!
The weather has been gorgeous here, but I have been too busy to get out to the trails :( Sometimes my work at the bridge club (I am manager) does interfere with my free time a lot. I was supposed to have a four day weekend, but smack in the middle of it, the head of directors called a meeting I have to intend :( So much for a getaway to the spa :( I have no more strings of days off instead things will only get busier. Its the busiest time of the year at our 400 member club when the most activities are going on. Our weather has been perfect, sunny, a little cold, but all I am doing in it is fast walking to the club and back and commuting to my fitness classes :P
Boxercise Intervals 75 min, step 60 and 60 circuit training yesterday and today will be another advanced Boxercise and advanced step -good thing I can have a hot tub after!! No time to think about stress eating -washed the windows between my evening set of classes. Really need to wash my floors, but at least I sneaked the laundry in. I am really feeling the upper body soreness from Monday's bootcamp, and wasn't getting any rest from the other classes :P
Food has been on what I need, boosted for three workout days and right on for two workout days.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday all!

Never Give Up! When one door closes, I simply kick down another one!!

I was pleasantly surprised to step on the scale this morning and find that the high-sodium dinner didn't make me go up a pound. I tried a new recipe for Spicy Szechuan Eggplant. It was good, but even with reduced sodium soy sauce was WAY salty. Next time I'll cut back by half. Got out for a walking break once yesterday, going for two today. Dentist appointment this afternoon, still deciding what to make for dinner since I'll be crunched for time between that appointment and leaving for church choir practice.

Yesterday I went to WW to inquire about a job and they basically told me I had to be at a BMI of 25. This means losing another 20#. Not because they told me, I have decided to try lose weight. This time I think I am going to focus on a certain BF%. Right now, I am 33%. Now, I have to determine what a good percentage would be for me...

Good Morning!
Weighed myself this morning for the first time since I went on my trip. I'd allowed a couple days off from the scale to allow the water gain from sodium and flying that usually accumulate. My weight is the same as pre-trip. I'm very excited about that! It's the first trip I've ever taken, in my memory, that I didn't gain weight. It can be done! I even had brats beans and potato salad, a few homemade cookies, a mixed drink, a DQ peanut buster parfait, and a donut, all within 5 days during my trip. Lots of treats, but kept calories under control for the most part. I also kept up with workouts. What a relief, I don't have to re-lose any weight!

Morning!

emoticon to my wonderful Mom. I got her 3 hours of maid service, I hope she feels like a queen today!

Yesterday was a bad day. This jerk at work has been acting extremely high-schoolish lately and yesterday he confronted me during my lunch break as I was peacefully enjoying my favorite cooking show. He said something really mean, and I'm convinced he just wanted some big altercation to come of it. Instead I just said "ok." and went back to eating my soup. He wasn't satisfied and kept trying to pry out a response, I didn't give him one, but still it really got me fuming. Traffic was particularly bad on the way home, ended up taking me 2 hours. When I finally got home I was famished, and as I was making dinner my bf and I kept snapping at eachother until he stormed out and went for a run to cool off. Then I ate 3 hot dogs and fries (oven baked, but still...) and finished off the brownies I made this weekend. I totally ate my feelings, just like I've always done. I got 0 fitness minutes, I feel defeated.

TanyaP... I love Chipotle! I ended up finding this cool calculator online for Chipotle where you add the ingredients and it gives you the nutrition facts. It really helps me pick where I want to splurge (usually it's on the guacamole!). Have you tried it? I googled "chipotle nutrition calculator" and it was the first site. I think they have one for subway too.

Celia... Oktoberfest sounds so fun! I hope you enjoy every bite of your brat :)

I'd forgotten how hard it can be to lose just 2 pounds, which I've been trying to do for a couple of weeks now. All I can do is try to keep doing everything right!

Glad you're getting a break from the smoke, Susan!

Yesterday activities were a 3-mile walk, ST, a few yoga stretches, and an inversion. Amazing how much better my back feels when I am more consistent with the stretching. Today is supposed to be rainy before a cold front, but the sun is out now, so perhaps I should head out to walk.

I'll be away for a few days to spend a long weekend with DH. Very glad I'm starting a couple of pounds below my goal, because the weekend at Oktoberfest promises to be full of beer and brats.

Good morning, team!

I'm up a pound from last week, but given the weekend indulgences, I can't be upset. Plus I have some pretty major DOMS going on the last couple of days. I'm going to try to drink more water today to help with that.

Yesterday's eating was spot on. I did a long cardio workout that I'm feeling today. I'm hoping to stay on track today with the eating. I have a ST workout planned for tonight. If I'm still sore, I may switch that up for cardio again.

Have an awesome day, my friends!

5 miles total yesterday. The middle 3 miles of run/walk intervals are now 4:00/1:15. When I reach walking only 1 min per mile, I'll consider myself rehabilitated. I'm content to improve gradually, kind of sneaking back into running.

Now I'll take advantage of this beautiful day and go for a nice long walk. I don't really care how fast or far. I'll just see how I feel and observe nature. Right now there are 3 deer munching my garden. That's OK. It's done producing much.

Have a good day everyone.

The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

Doing well. Happily splurging on the weekends and getting back under goal during the week without feeling deprived. Even managed to eat at Chipotle with the kids yesterday and still drop almost a pound of my weekend weight.

Really enjoying the dawning of autumn :-) it's so much nicer to be outside now that the heat of summer is over.

good morning all!
yesterday the air was clear for the first time in days, no smoke, and work was caught up, so we made a last minute decision to go for a hike in the mountains. it was gorgeous! warm sun, cool air, larches turning yellow, blue sky. about 6.5 miles altogether.

met friends for dinner at our favorite mexican restaurant, probably ate too many chips but with the miles we've been putting in, i don't think it hurt much...
and i did the basic runners ST exercises too! all in all, a good day.
