TINAJANE-I so understand how you feel....it is a problem many people wish they had, but if they only knew. I have had very low, even dangerously low blood pressure for years. It can be managed though and my healthier eating and having acquired a liking for roasted pumpkin seeds has managed to keep it under control. The only time I have to be extra careful now is during the peak of running training in the summer when I sweat alot and drink more fluids. That seems to be the only time I really have to supplement with salt. Best wishes to you finding your right balance!

I did reasonably well with my eating today. I had a fair bit of knee pain, preventing me from being able to exercise hard enough to enter the aerobic zone. I worked out at a lower intensity and didn't let it get me down.

No urges to binge or stuff feelings with food today. A success!

Hi everyone! As some of you may have seen, my body was obviously trying to tell me something was wrong this past week and I wound up getting taken to the emergency room yesterday after a fainting/falling episode at home. The cause was my low blood pressure, which I've been managing for quite a long time. Since the symptoms were different from past episodes, I didn't catch what was going on and chalked it up to a reaction to changes in what I was eating. Because of my blood pressure, I have to be careful about my fluid and electrolyte balance, part of which involves consuming more sodium. I know a lot of people have the opposite problem and need to restrict sodium, but please be sure to check with your doctor if you have ongoing problems with nausea and lightheadedness (especially before eating in the morning) or an upset stomach that gets worse after eating or exercise. You could have the same issues I do!

My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since.

Still waiting to do regular exercise. Keep thinking in am this will be the day, but woke up middle of night hurting which says not yet. Think it was from climbing ladder slowly yesterday (dh and I taking in sunset from roof) - keep thinking I can do things my body just isn't healed enough for yet. Have steadily upped calorie intake (I was way too low), and the scale has started to go down. It's a little scary upping calories knowing I am doing so much less but am getting more comfortable with learning about my body instead of focusing on weight goal.

Yesterday was another 8 mile walking day, and about 200 cals over (which still gives me a general caloric deficit). Today I expect something similar.

Yesterday was good, food-wise. Choir practice started, which I love. Tonight is my monthly dinner out with two of my sisters-in-law. We will eat, drink and be merry. Tomorrow they're doing a sandwich run at work and I plan to over-indulge in a huge reuben. These two events will set back my progress towards my goal weight, but I have to be able to unbend and enjoy eating now and again or it will suck all the joy out of life!

Hi, all! I find I look forward to this thread to hear how everyone is doing. The last two days have been good for me for fitness and staying within my calorie range. Looking for a three-peat today. ST this afternoon with trainer!

Good morning all. Last night was a late night for me, especially on a non-closing work at night, Just so much packed into the day, and after all that I really needed a run, then dinner and a little wind down time and before I knew it, it was 11PM! Good thing I didn't have to be up today until 7AM(actually woke up at 6:45 w/o the alarm). It felt good to be able to just lay there for a few minutes and not be rushed. Breakfast is done, animals are taken care of. Now to hop in the shower, work 9-6, mtg with a mentor from church at 6:15-6:30 till 7:30ish. That'll give me just a few minutes of wind down time and a chance to do about 10-15 minutes of fitness by the time I get home so that I can get another decent nights rest before working 7-4 tomorrow - then abs and strength training! Hoping nutritionally things keep going well and I can keep plugging away at the fitness...finally saw a little scale movement this morning. Less than 10 lbs to go until GOAL!

Good morning, team!

Susan, the sky has been so brilliantly blue here the past few days. I don't miss the summer haze at all.

I had a great day eating-wise. I missed my water goal, but got in 8, so it's not so bad. I picked a recovery/stretching DVD for last night's workout. It wasn't a calorie torcher, but it felt good since my muscles have been very sore this week.

I feel like my body is wanting me to settle in around 137 instead of 135. I have been able to easily maintain there. I'm going to monitor and maybe adjust. With the muscle soreness I've been experiencing, I could be adding a little. My clothes still fit perfectly, so who knows.

Today should be a normal day... lunch and snacks packed at work. Cardio workout planned for after work. All I need to do is figure out dinner.

Have a great day!

good morning all,
woke up today for the night shift without a clue as to what time it was, or why i was waking up... then reality hit:-)

wednesday started off coooolllddd! DH found ice that had slipped off the roof in the morning sun! the smoke from the wildfires was nowhere to be seen, and it was walk day, so we drove up the other side of the river a few miles and parked the car at the bottom of a mountain road where we'd never been. started walking, pretty much straight up, bluest sky you ever saw. soon warmed up as we marched along. turned out to be exactly 2.5 miles to a gate, probably for cattle. we turned there (it's nice to have an official turning point) and headed back down, speed walking just for fun. beautiful and fun.

nutrition went well - leftover tofu chard stir-fry for lunch, then we went to a restaurant for dinner, large salad and one glass of wine. must have been salty, because weight was up this a.m.; not worried because i didn't overeat, and we got our 5 miles in. has to be water.

the smoke came back to the valley in the afternoon, and today is running day - hopefully it will disappear during the night so we can get in our morning run.

have a great thursday!
