So, the plan is to work 7-4, then 6pk abs and group strength at the gym. Will probably make chicken fajitas w/corn salsa for dinner and then have two days off (yeah, lots to get done and then going to the local Fair with my sisters on Friday). Should have time to get in at least one good run and another short one with some friends on Friday morning. Hope you all have an awesome day! -Oh yeah, NO SNOOZE this morning and managed to roll out of bed at 4:50!-

I've walked 16,000+ steps today - about 8 miles for me - so I'm not regretting the one bite of my less than stellar eating while we're on the road. My cals came in at 1447, which is my perfect happy range - and I burned about 700 cals walking.

This is when I'm happiest - on vacation so eating new and interesting things, watching what I eat but not being crazed about it, and walking everywhere to burn off the not-as-healthful stuff I eat. It all balances out.

Just not enough hours in the day - ate pretty well, a little higher on the carbs and lower on the protein than I would normally like, but still well within limits and had a 250+ cal burn on a 3.8 mile run, so all in all a successful day. One more day of work, then abs and group strength after....then, DAY OFF!!!!!! YEAH!!!! emoticon

and i am about to return home to WA state after two months in sweden. insomnia strikes - we have to leave for the airport around 3 a.m., and it looks like i won't even get the couple of hours of sleep i thought i would.

the last day here began with... well, i was going to write a great run, but that was after i had put in several hours of work. my swedish clients are obviously back at work again, since they have had plenty for me to do. i had intended to take this week off while we traveled, but that sure did not happen. about to finish off the last project before the plane (i hope),

meanwhile, i did get in one last run/walk/run - 5 miles, the first one after saturday's race. it went surprisingly well. i was trying to go slower (it was an easy recovery day), and i wound up with the fastest run of the summer, other than the race itself. rain was threatening, but we managed to get back before it started - and even take one last dip in the fjord. the air temp was about 60, but the water was warmer and felt good! spent the rest of the day working, packing, emptying fridge and cupboards.

food went pretty well - breakfast and lunch on track, dinner at neighbors, one glass of wine. not going to use the tracker right now but i can feel that things are ok.

it's a long day ahead - and it's still night!

It sounds like everyone here is doing just dandy! I am away from home visiting with my younger sister in Montana. We drove from Wisconsin. It took us 2 1/2 days. I take a water pill in the morning and forgot the first two days so we made many stops and steps along the way. At each stop we walked for a good long time. The second day I couldn't believe I forgot and took that pill again! But it served us well. We did get some good walking in. Julie is at work right now. I tried to take her dog Paloma for a walk before lunch but that big lug only went a little ways. She kept turning around for home. I ended up walking her in their yard until Julie came home for lunch. She did miss her mom a lot while she was gone and I fear she thought I was just the pet sitter and mom wasn't coming home. BOOHOO! Well, I will not wait for Paloma to go for my walk tomorrow! I plan on meeting Julie at Curves when she gets off work. I have to make this vacation thing work since I will be away from home for the next two months. Yikes!

Got in a 2 mile walk this morning, before it became too hot and humid - and I'm planning to get in more walking later, when things cool off. Right now it's the mad dog/Englishmen time of day.

And I'm enjoying the food, but being reasonable - so I'm in range for mid-day, with a decent amount of calories for dinner. And I avoided the pastries in the hotel and went for a nonfat tea latte with sugarfree vanilla as my afternoon treat. Well, and one bite (small) of DH's giant cupcake. What can I say, I can't imagine life without chocolate.

Morning all. Another day of rain, fog, and cooler temperatures. We desperately need the rain so I won't complain.

My kids are back at school today. In chilly Calgary Alberta, I'm happy that kids get the 2 months of summer off, rather than year-round school. We have to enjoy the warm weather when we can get it!

Up at 5:15 for 40 minutes of yoga before work. Nice way to start the day.
Have a good one!

Hi everyone,

Getting to work was a bit difficult and I am on the freeway at 5:15am. The traffic was very bad, I think it was because the day after the holiday and if you don't go to work, you don't get paid for the holiday, plus the universities are in session.

Lots to do here at work, tonight nothing is planned once I get home. Temps are higher and will continue all week to be toasty.

Make it a healthy day

Every day I am on the verge of making slight changes that would make all the difference in my life.

for me fall means all my favorite exercise classes are starting again and that I will be able to get a hot tub, can't wait! Boxercise this morning, and two step classes this evening, one plain and the other with sculpting intervals! Fun, fun! A bridge club championship starting today, a nice change being able to play bridge for a change instead of working it all the time. Can't complain, managing the bridge club is bringing me in money I wouldn't otherwise have. Staying in calorie range, maintaining weight, now if only I could solve the lack of sleep, as I had yet another night of bed gymnastics, *sigh* No wonder my back is sore!
Its outrageous they start school so early, it goes against a child's natural sleep patterns. They should be looking at what would allow them maximum performance instead of falling asleep in classes. I feel for you all having to deal with this..

MENNOLY - Yes! Doors open at 7:05 and they are late at 7:20. My daughter naturally wakes early (but not quite early enough). My 13 year old son just does NOT wake up early. I really doubt he is fully awake for his first class.

Thanks for keeping this going... I took a little internet break for the most part this weekend.

I have GOT to get back on track today. The weekend was a disaster. I am up quite a bit, and while I know some is PMS & DOMS, my food intake is mostly to blame.

I'm committed to get it together. Have a FABULOUS day!

Wow! Just after 7? Our HS are at 7:30 and I think that is ridiculous. My older kids always slept through 1st period because their body clock did not come on by then.

Count me in as another who would like the school days spread more evenly through the year. Can't see how we can ever change that here though. Every little change gets SO much push back! My kids start tomorrow. We did a trial run for their much-too-early wakeup this AM. Middle school students should NOT need to be in school shortly after 7AM.... especially when some of them have 45' bus rides!

Anyway.... weight is up today but I'm not too upset. Yesterday was an off eating day and my digestive system was off too. I'm going to go back to tracking food and exercise tomorrow and continue until I get to 2 pounds below goal. It's sort of a pattern with me... track until I am 2 pounds under.... stop..... start tracking when I am struggling to get under goal even one day a week.

NOT looking forward to early morning stress and homework but REALLY looking forward to being able to go to the gym without feeling like I'm not doing my job as a SAHM.

Here in Md where schools do start before labor day, it is the parents that complain that school starts before Labor Day. IMHO school should go year round with short periodic vacations because the bulk of 1st quarter is review and not new material. I really liked the British system when we lived there. School started after our labor day and went to mid July. Then there was the summer holiday. There was a 3 week winter holiday and a 3 week Spring holiday and the kids went to school for the same 180 days they do here.

Well, it's the first day of school here in Virginia, thanks to the King's Dominion law that prevents most Virginia school districts from starting till after Labor Day. Let's hear it for big business being more important than students getting more instruction time before standardized tests. [Crickets chirping]

Anyway, in the office early, so I missed the awful traffic labeled "Terrible Traffic Tuesday" by one radio station. Hope everyone had a good holiday and rested up to start the week.
