After finally getting going, yesterday was going really well. First time doing strengthening with ball (dvd from library) and I really liked it. Off to rink with dh and gs to rollerskate and I went down - big time. Been icing but barely moving this morning. Not a happy camper.

Back to work. Yesterday afternoon/evening was one of those times that everything just seemed to be TOO MUCH WORK. Cleaning one thing seemed to generate three more messes. I tried a new recipe which was a complete failure--a "this isn't working, toss it out" failure, which managed to mess up my entire kitchen while dinner was still not made. I finally said, "I just have to sit down and think for a while." After about 15 minutes I got up, finished clearing the mess and made something else for dinner. On to a better week!

The last summer holiday is over. Now it's back to school for the kids and a little quiet time for mom. I'll be back to doing my workouts on my schedule and not on someone elses schedule.

I've got 1 more lb to go to reach my goal! That is going to probably be the toughest lb to lose too, but I'm up for the challenge!

Well, the official "end of summer" has come and gone, but it is still hot & HUMID, so this afternoon after work will be laps at the gym. Maybe even a little bootcamp this evening. I think, for now at least, I will shelve the idea of getting up any earlier to work out. If I can get up consistently by 5AM or a couple of minutes earlier (on morning work days) and by no later than 6ish on other days...and NO SNOOZING! - then for me, that will be a success.

Groceries loaded with fruit, veg, low fat dairy and lean meats. I like it when my fridge is full with great stuff. I have to say when buying all fresh food produce and meats the bags are much heavier than buying boxed processes stuff. So grocery shopping itself feels like a bit of an st session. On track with food calories and planned meals. Great exercise session. Cooking and preping food for the next few days. Good day. Have not had cravings for about 4 days. I had week there where my cravings got so strong and finally i had to give in get it out of the way and since that day i have not had any cravings. I eat very very clean on planned meal days and i wonder if it is unavoidable to get cravings and maybie even healthy to go deep in to a craving go crazy and stop and continue on with all the good stuff till the next time as long as it is not too frequent i would not want to indulge more than once a week. I will see how this goes.

Doing better than in the weekend. Lots of fruit and vegetables, walks and ST. It's the last one I struggle with so I'm really pleased with myself for doing it!!

Today I had a ton of fruit and vegs - but also a small cup of ice cream. And walking, lots of walking. It usually evens out.

Hi All- Just back from the marvelous Strawberry Music festival. Four days of every conceivable type of Music from Blue grass to cool jazz and gangsta funk. We had no internet or cell phone service since the festival takes place on the parameter of Yosemite near the the Hetch Hetchy reservoir. I blew a perfect month of trivia since I couldn't answer questions on the 30th or 31st. Walked like a demon all over the place but I ate like a pig, didn't drink enough water and got very little sleep.

Tomorrow I'll weigh-in and find out how much damage I did.

after a not very good sunday i decided to make monday even worse, it would seem. was supposed to run, but chose to walk in the a.m. because of stiffness due to a stupid fall i had taken *after* the race, walking home from the restaurant that night. badly skinned right knee and elbow, bruised left hand, stiff and sore shoulders. we did manage a second walk in the evening for 6.5 miles total for the day, plus at least i got in my crunches and wall pushups. but that was it.

but food - i had decided i would not track over the next few days because of the trip, and somehow that other me inside decided that if that were the case, and since the fridge has to be cleaned out anyway (we leave for washington in just under 24 hours now), i may as well start cleaning it out. and ate far. too. much. made guacamole - and yes, i added the cucumber to make it lower cal, so i ate the equivalent of over one whole avocado - with i don't know how many chips. and that was just the start. ah well. i decided maybe i did need to track anyway, and of course got to the point where i exceeded my calories for the day. and when i woke up, the scale was of course the highest it has been. can we say wake-up call?

time for better choices. starting. today. trip or no trip, travel nerves or no travel nerves. today.

So good to get over 7 1/2 hours sleep last night. That seems to be the minimum at which I can function really well, so I guess I will have to work at getting to bed earlier. Forgot that the gym was closed tonight (closed at 4). I worked 7-4, so got home earlier than usual, made a healthy dinner and got my sis out the door for her meet-up with friends. Gives me a little extra quiet time and some time to check out a DVD and do some abs work (always needing that). Tomorrow is supposed to be another hot and humid scortcher, so laps at the gym or some hill work on the treadmill will be the order of the day!

bad sleep as usual, did 60 min elliptical intervals and an hour ST with Jari Love this morning, feeling the burn. Healthy eating going good six servings freggies so far. Working then home. Allergies going haywire due to high winds and strong cigarette smoke being sucked into my apartment from my neighbour :( Would love it if they banned smoking in these apartments. We share commen vents and have no uptake fans anywhere. I actually feel air blowing DOWN on me from vents that are only supposed to take up air, just a crappy design.
Hope you all had a good holiday weekend! I only had two bad snacks (ice cream and cheese crunchies), everything else was healthy meals, Exercised daily.

I had a fantastic weekend - but didn't eat the best. In fact, it was like I didn't care I was eating terrible. With that in mind, I decided it would be best to start tracking again. I did do pretty good with the exercise. Friday went for a paddle boat ride. Saturday and Sunday I walked 3.8 miles each day. So feeling alright with it all.

Stll struggling with my digestive system. Back down today. Woke up early and fed the cats at 4:20 am and then was allowed to doze until a more reasonable holiday hour. Went out for breakfast--heavy but satisfying. Usually when we have breakfast out it holds us until dinnertime, so it's OK for it to be the equivalent of two meals! Now I'm doing housework, which is kind of a drag for a holiday, but it means there will be less to do after work tomorrow.

Finding good balance today. Great kettlebell workout at home in my pjs. Having lots of fruit and veggies with the meat DH is smoking. Relaxing in the family before the craziness of school. Weight is 1 pound over but I'm ok with that.

Good day! Weighed in & saw the lowest number I've seen in months! Worked out at the gym --40 min with the stability ball & weights. Haven't done that in a while. 30 on the treadmill and my 10 min stretching routine at the end. Lunch now is a Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie. planning to split a steak with hubby for dinner and will make some kind of salad to go with it. Have some quiet time this afternoon, so I can get started with prep for the Bible study I'll be facilitating starting next week. Yep, a good day! Enjoy your day off, friends!

Wow, Celia, what a good job so far! emoticon

In contrast I am barely getting started - just can't seem to find that push (and not looking too hard). Skipped volunteering this morning (which I don't skip) - just too early and I was up way way late. Ate breakfast later, keep thinking about getting moving...so guess I better go get with it!

Good day so far. On track with food and water, and I've done cardio, ST, and yoga, and I went to the grocery, the pharmacy for a prescription and my flu shot, and to GNC for calcium. Now to the house chores. DH left on a trip early this morning, so we had our holiday meal yesterday, and I have the day to myself.
