a good start to the week - 4.8 mile run/walk/run, probably my best ever. it was a cold but clear morning, and we went down to swim afterwards, even though the temp was in low 50s; turned out to be the best swim of this so-called summer because the water was warmer than the air.
food was good - usual breakfast, but chantarelle (wild mushroom) sandwiches for lunch, and vegan pea soup for dinner. starting to clean out the freezer and fridge, not many meals left here.
and one more evening walk, for one more 8 mile day. plus it was ST - and i still wonder why, when i *know* i am going to start doing crunches at some point in the day, i always seem to leave it to the very very very end. still, i've been getting it done now for about 5 weeks, and can tell it makes a difference.

hello everyone: Well it happened. This afternoon after trying to stay off the narcotic I began hurting bad again and have been sleeping a lot today. I took another pill at 9:00. I had already made an appointment for tomorrow at 10:45. I thought it would be difficult to park at that hour and wondered how far I would have to walk. Then a friend called and wanted to come over. I said not now as I was so tired and hurting and going to bed. Asked what she was going to do tomorrow. She had something but when she heard my story about the doctor's appointment she said they would take me. Praise the Lord. Also my computer wasn't working. In fact neither of them worked. Later they both fixed themselves for which I am glad. I'm sorry I can't answer each of you but I know you understand. Thanks to all you who mentioned my knee and were so happy for me. I was happy for awhile also. I did write a blog today about something funny that happened yesterday. This is my 54th day w/o desserts. My pastor is on his 29th day but is still tempted. Irene

Weight today remains right where it has been -- maintaining! Thought picking apples this morning would count as some Fitness Minutes, but Mike ended up helping me so much I really couldn't justify putting anything down as exercise! (thanks Mike!) Was going to try to get to the gym today, but my applesauce adventure has kept me in the kitchen all day. Will take my gym things and go tomorrow after work. Apples weren't as sweet as I'd hoped, so I've ended up adding about 1/4 C Brown Sugar Splenda to each batch (bout 10 half-pints). Last 2 batches cooking up now.

Awakened by rambunctious kitten at 4:15am, I got up to feed him and give him his medicine (take THAT!). Dozed off and on until the alarm at 6am. I don't think shutting the cats out of the bedroom is the answer, since they've always been allowed and would likely meow and scratch at the door, but I'm hoping he learns soon to prowl around without waking me, like the older cats do.
