Got up....slowly, no snooze, but had trouble falling asleep, so waking up was tough! Did get up at 5 though and got it 10 mins. It's not much, but it's a start, and it is better than nothing. Gonna try again tomorrow (church-lighting-from 7 to 12:30), so if I can get something done and just not snooze, I'll be making progress....slowly, but progress none the less.

Rocking the exercise as usual, but slightly over in calories today. 75 min bootcamp, 30 min speedwalk outdoors. Lack of sleep continues to be my biggest barrier to a complete healthy lifestyle, insomnia does suck..

friday was gorgeous, with rain predicted for the whole weekend, so i moved my long run up and went 11 miles, which put me down to my lowest weight since my 20s, and lower than i want to be now. we had a party last night with pizza in the garden, my pieces had white bean spread rather than cheese, so still healthy. it felt good to know that i could just enjoy - even that i could take just a couple of peanuts or chips and not keep eating. and that i could have my wine and not regret the calories. i'm not going to make any adjustments to calories for now, but will wait until when we get home in two weeks to adjust to life there.

Well, keeping the no snooze streak alive, but didn't get any fitness in this am and precious little tonight. Also ate 38 cals over my high end, but was 300 shy of my low end yesterday....just couldn't eat anymore yesterday. Coffee is set up, exercise clothes out and DVD sest out with alarm set 15 mins earlier than my normal 5AM. Going to give it a go even if it is only 10-15 mins tomorrrow!

Two days in a row without exercising, except for a 1 mile run this morning. So, I got in 9 1/2 minutes of exercise in 2 days!! After coming home on Sunday from a 10 day vacation, I have been so unmotivated. It is amazing how you can get out the habit so quickly. I hope I am not losing any endurance or muscles in 2 weeks lapse.

I haven't been tracking my food but I feel like I have made good food choices. Trying to lose the 3 lbs I gained from vacation but it won't happen if I don't exercise.

Yeah, some days our plans just don't work. I was doing fine on the nutrition yesterday, until a friend called and said come on over for dinner - it was her Cuban-style chili over rice, which was delicious, plus tostones (fried plantains) which I love. Everyone is inviting us over for farewell dinners - and then we've had a tropical storm so that means no long walks outside. (Hard to get in a workout in a tiny hotel room.)

So I went for a walk today, parking and walking to accomplish a bunch of errands. Wanted to burn off last night's delicious meal. Ended up getting caught in the rain and sloshing around without my umbrella. Ah well, walking while chilled probably burns a few extra calories, right?

It's a beautiful Friday. The fog is lifting and it is starting to warm up to a nice low 70's temperature. If I'm lucky I'll be able to leave work a little early. Chicken with Mango salsa in the plan today. It needs to marinate a little so I hope I'll get home in time to do that.

Savannah, maybe this is a day where just getting your iPod charged is enough. There are days like that. Tomorrow is another day.

To be honest, I usually just delete these... but today I need some support. I went for a two mile run to destress. May it just wasn't in the cards. Before the run, the ipod was dead. Than during the run, I kept get a stitch. I am feeling stressed and disappointed.

102.2 this morning. Yesterday was usual for food, unusual for everything else. As usual.

Good day for me yesterday too. Food was reasonable but I treated myself to a very tiny glass of wine before dinner and a 100 calorie skinny cow ice cream for desert. Weight was even down 0.4 this AM which was welcome as I'm still a tad over goal following vacation. Exercise was centergy which is just so good for me :-) I talked to my gym manager and my trainer (who doesn't work at my gym) about wanting some sort of ongoing small group training. I really want to connect with more fit people. My husband doesn't 'get it' and it can be lonely exercising alone. That felt doubly good because (1) it might get me the connections I want and (2) it's a big deal for me to be that assertive.

Today I have strength training and my parents arrive for a 5 day visit. My dad had bypass surgery last October and truly appreciates my healthy cooking. That will make eating well easier and I'm going to enjoy sharing some of my yummy AND healthy meals with them :-)

There is no secret. Eat less. Move more. Love yourself. benchedbiologist.wordpress.com/

Good day yesterday with calories in range and both cardio (elliptical) and ST. Looking forward to hot date with hubby tonight!
