Not sure. We have 2 weeks more for summer and then there is a break before the next. When an announcement is made. I will post it so other can see as well.

Holly, that challenge sounds interesting. It may be a fun thing to do before the BLC starts. When does the next 5% challenge start?

I haven't done the BLC but I have joined 5%Spring and Summer Challenges. The goal is to lose 5% weight during the 8 weeks. They accepted maintainers too. This sounds less intense. You log your exercise minutes and chat/support each other. There are different teams and the descriptions tell you how serious they are about the "game". I have been on the CATS team and really love it!

Maybe this is another option for some of you.

Wow, the BLC sounds intense! I'd like more challenge, but I need flexibility, so I guess BLC is not for me. With my schedule, there are days when the only exercise I seem to get is walking the escalators to the Metro and walking from the Metro to the ridesharing line.

Yup I have been 3 rounds with the Panthers first round was BLC17 when they decided to have a maintenance team Very active and lively bunch love the panthers at times so much going on one can get lost if you post something the others will respond ot your post and read your blog post very supportive. But BLC20 I'm going to a different team as I have a new goal weight.

What is expected is check in 3 times a week (same as non maintenance team) there are weekend challenges from Friday to Monday Tuesday LCW (last chance workout) Wednesday is weigh in day Thursday is TNT (tighten & tone) Challenge Motto Participation not perfection something ot that affect. With any of the BLC teams if you don't meet the minimum requirements you end up as a floater Even though its a maintenance team there are people who are almost at goal maybe 10 pounds away in the previous rounds to join up with the panthers there was an application to be answered this new round they did away with that step. Oh the team is then broken down into "dens" we sometimes compete we also compete on weekend challenges with other teams Its a great bunch of people plan to be back with them on BLC21 I have 10 pounds ot lose this round (BLC20)

The only reason I'm not returning to the team is that I got way to comfortable and I have a new goal to lose 10 to 15 pounds and need a kick on another team I do think you will fall in love with the panthers

Hope I helped you with what you are looking for

I have been doing the BLC challenge with the prism Panthers, the maintenance team, since I think someone posted it on here. I think three rounds for me. It is a very active team and keeping up is impossible, but people do comment on what you share and do answer questions. It is really a great place for socialization and for support.

How does it differ from the non-maintenance team? I can't really answer that, as I was not doing the BLC challenge before I reached maintenance level. I do find some of the challenges helpful and the fact that the team encourages participation, not great scores, it helps. Sometimes I still find that I don't feel like the challenge is something I should push myself to do, as I am in maintenance. But overall they do encourage good habits. I find it helps encourage me to do strength training, as that is my weakest area. Can encourage other things too, like tracking, etc.

Mainly, I say the team is helpful, but impossible to keep up with, even though I so want to keep up with it. I think sometimes I disappear after I get so far behind, because I know I will never be able to catch up and I feel a tad guilty. I do think there is still a bit of an emphasis on weight loss, so sometimes I do feel I let the team down because I am in maintenance, but they do encourage participation, not clean sweeps of the challenges, or wonderfully high scores. Some of us on the prism panthers team was also doing the 100 pushup challenge. That was nice for encouraging me to do some needed strength training.

I hope no one minds me asking about another team here. I see the teams as so radically different, it seems to me that they aren't really competing.

The BLC (Biggest Loser Challenge) has a sub-team for maintainers, and I was wondering if anyone here has tried it. I tried the BLC several years ago (though not as a maintainer), and found it to be quite overwhelming. However, it did seem that different sub-teams had different requirements.

I am wondering what the maintainers team is like, how much social interaction they require, examples of weekly/daily challenges, how the challenge differs for maintainers, etc.

Also, if I am in a good groove as far as what DOES work for me, would I be pressured (by team points earned/not earned) to change that?

Thanks in advance! =)
