I have certainly had my ups and downs, I just manage to keep them to one or two pounds, the bounce range. It's why I weigh every day. I had a tough time during menopause when my body no longer seemed my own, but got to the other side and quickly lost those 10 pounds and more. For me it's the daily awareness, and the absolute knowledge that I can not eat something and survive just fine. I know absolutely that the urge to eat something I shouldn't, no matter how powerful, will pass if I don't eat it. And I have found that the gratitude for not giving in always exceeds the craving. I think for me the most important concept has been One Day At A Time. I haven't given up Reeses forever, just for Today. After awhile all those Todays add up to a successful maintenance.
No one ever got up in the morning wishing she'd eaten more the night before.
