Oh my gosh!!!!! I can't even imagine the havoc oil would do to a coffee pot! It definitely made me giggle. How about me, type A personality, being totally organized and planning ahead, planning a teacher inservice day that didn't exist? I took a day off last Monday so that I could stay with my daughter and then had the school call mid-day to ask if she was sick... Talk about embarassing! I think I'll be doublechecking all planned holidays from now.
I've backslidden... I reached my goal and was now maintaining, but now I need to lose 10 pounds and firm up.
I don't have a specific story to share but with my ADD I've certainly had my share of similar "Oops" moments...I hope you found the new coffee pot..I don't think I could survive a morning without mine, even now that I drink half caff.

I'm on a very active forum with a small number of other women. Our kids all have a similar type of autism. It's a private forum, we write a lot, and we've all gotten to know each other pretty well.
So, earlier today, one of the ladies posts that we should all investigate our coffee pots. She looked into hers, and found months of scales and other mineral deposits. Then, looking further, she discovered a deceased spider.
I made a mental note to clean our coffee pot this afternoon. I went and got my son and our neighbor's daughter from school, and started them on their homework. When I got up to pour in the white vinegar to start it brewing/cleaning, the kids were curious as to what I was doing and wanted to know all about the spider story. Thus, I wasn't paying full attention until I realized something was wrong with the vinegar. It didn't pour right. That's because it was coming from the large plastic container of cooking oil.
That's right, I poured cooking oil into the coffee pot. I then spent the next hour brewing up pots of coffee-flavored salad dressing - in my coffee pot.
The kids were highly amused, and were trying to talk each other into drinking the stuff. I'm trying to figure how to score a new coffee pot before 5:30 tomorrow.
What's your funny story?
