I agree on both sides, sometimes I just get ready for the workout, and at some point I get motivated to continue, but if I'm really dragging thru the warm-up, I take it as a sign I'm either overdoing it, (overtraining) or coming down w/ something, so I'll either do a light version, or hit the showers. If it's just boredom sometimes just starting gets me in the groove, and I remember why I enjoy working up a good sweat!

Dreading a workout is a good sign that I have been pushing myself too far or that I am doing something boring. So, I try to do allow myself to just do what feels right and try something different than my normal routine.

Well,

I knew I was going to have one of thos days yesterday and after reading ya'll replies it just reinforced in my mind that everyone has those days, so work through it. Half way into the workout there was no stopping me.

Thanks

I do the same, set small goals and tell myself I can quit at anytime if I want to.

Usually by the time I'm done warming up I'm looking forward to the workout but if I'm still not "feeling it" midway it could be that my body needs to rest or I'm getting sick and I'll let it go. 99% of the time I'm more than happy I completed my training and feel on top of the world.

I do the same thing. First, I tell myself just to get dressed for the workout, then I say get through the warm up and part of the workout. Normally I'll get one leading side done, and then think I need to work the other side to be balanced, and then the next circuit comes and I think this is a good change... about the time I think I can't get through it anymore, we're moving to the other lead and I want to be balanced etc... Before you know it, I've complete the whole thing. Or at least, most times that is how it works. ;) A few times, I just quit and took my shower. LOL

I've backslidden... I reached my goal and was now maintaining, but now I need to lose 10 pounds and firm up.

How do you get through one of those workouts that you are feeling bad and dread working out that day?

I try to set small goals throughout the workout. This makes me get to each goal and try to push myself to each one.
