Ah, Irene, you are this person for so many! I also have a gal that took me under her wing years ago. She moved out of state and she is very old now but we still write and phone each other and she is still keeping me on my toes! Now that I am uh um, "older" I try to stay close to the younger girls who have children at home. We ALL need each other and what a blessing it is to be together in the Lord! Thank you, Irene. Praying for you daily.

Walking Wisely

He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20

Do you have a wise woman or man in whom you confide? Is there someone—your dad, mom, a business associate, or teacher—to whom you can go for objective, biblical advice? It is in humility we learn to harvest good sense and wisdom. Gaining God’s perspective is not a one-time event but a lifetime of leaning on others to grow in our understanding. Wisdom comes from walking with the wise, not flirting with fools.

Good people engage with good company. There is no separation of being influenced by skilled people with seedy morals during the week and hearing a sermon on Sunday. “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character’” (1 Corinthians 15:33). Instead, be intentional toward integrity. Seek out a wise peer, or ask a wise mom if you may call her for counsel. Wisdom walks with willing participants who obey.

“For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people” (1 Peter 2:15).

Beware of fools who talk fast but do not follow through. They may be aware of what is right and talk the talk, but they fail to walk the walk. They ignore integrity. Fools eventually damage relationships. Foolish behavior will come back to bite you; so avoid its influence. What seems like innocent fun eventually inflicts suffering and harms hearts. Fools practice anti-wisdom. “Fools despise wisdom and discipline” (Proverbs 1:7).

So where can you find wise companions? Look for them in church or in respected leadership roles in the community. Vet their resume of wise living by observing the countenance of their spouse, watching how they love their children, and studying their financial management. Jettison foolish friends so you have the capacity to walk with the wise. Ask, “Am I growing in wisdom or floundering with fools?”

A wise ruler once said, “It is better to heed a wise man’s rebuke than to listen to the song of fools” (Ecclesiastes 7:5).

Prayer: With whom can I walk in wisdom to become more Christlike in my life?

You Don't Have to Tell Me Twice
An early April snow had caught us by surprise here in the mountains of my home. Flowers that had just popped out of the ground a week before were now drowning in a sea of white. It felt like someone had turned back the clock two months. Slowly it grew warm enough for the snow to begin to melt in the late afternoon but soon the temperatures dipped again as the cold, evening air turned the melted snow into ice.

Early the next morning I walked out to my cars. I needed to take my sons to school and then had a 30 mile round trip to make after that. I wondered which car to take. My little one had the better gas mileage, but the tires on my bigger one were less worn. Just as I took a step towards my little car, however, my foot slipped on a patch of black ice and I felt my body hitting the driveway. I got up slowly and smiled. "You don't have to tell me twice God!", I said before heading over to start the car with the better tires. After dropping off my boys at school I made the round trip safely. I felt my car hit patches of black ice several times, but each time the tires gripped and adjusted well. I found myself laughing and grinning even with my still sore left hip and shoulder. I was happy I had followed God's guidance and I felt loved and watched over.

God's loving guidance comes in many ways. You can hear its gentle whisper in your heart. You can listen to it come out in the touching lyrics of a beautiful song. You can see it in the wise passage of a book. You can notice it in an overheard scrap of conversation. You can feel it in the quietness of nature. You can even get it when you fall to the pavement of your driveway. However it comes to you, though, don't turn away from it. Don't make God have to tell you twice. Listen to Him the first time. Trust Him, love Him, and follow Him. He will take you to ever greater love, joy, and learning. He will keep you safe and lead you home.

Thank you my friends. I have not heard anything about the car since they towed it in.
I have not heard when they are going to renovate my house either so don't know. I may have to delay the surgery. It is scheduled for the 9th of February but they said if I needed more time to let them know.
So I really appreciate your prayers. God bless you.

Irene you are on my prayer list and I look forward to hearing how your surgery went. What a difference a day makes--just like your post about dividing the horses--we do one day with God and watch him act. Thank God for His faithful help! What a wonderful testimony about the work to be done to your home. Like the others I am so thankful that you are alright after the car accident. I will pray and I know sooo many others are also. My husband had one knee done, a total replacement, and it looks like the other will have to be done also. He has had very good results. God bless you, Irene.

19 Horses
One rich man owned 19 horses when he died. In his last will and testament he had written that upon his death, half the horses he owned should go to his only son; one fourth to the village temple and one fifth to the faithful servant. The village elders could not stop scratching their heads. How can they give half of the 19 horses to the son? You cannot cut up a horse. They puzzled over this dilemma for more than two weeks and then decided to send for a wise man who was living in a neighboring village.

The wise man came riding on his horse and asked the villagers if he can be of any help to them. The village elders told him about the rich man's last will and testament which stated that half of the (19) horses must be given to his only son, one fourth must go to the temple and one fifth to the faithful servant.

The wise man said he will immediately solve their problem without any delay whatsoever. He had the 19 horses placed in a row standing next to one another. Then he added his own horse as the 20th horse. Now he went about giving half of the 20 horses that is ten horses to the son. One fourth of 20-that is 5 horses were given to the temple committee. One fifth of twenty-that is 4 horses were given to the faithful servant. Ten plus five plus four made 19 horses. The remaining 20th horse was his own which he promptly mounted, spoke a few inspiring words, and rode back home.

The villagers were simply dumfounded, full of disbelief and filled with admiration. And the parting words of the wise man were inscribed in their hearts and minds which they greatly cherished and passed on to their succeeding generations till today.

The wise man said: In our daily lives, in our daily affairs, simply add God's name and then go about facing the day's happenings. Ever come across problems in life that are seemingly insurmountable? (Like the villagers, do we feel that such problems cannot be solved?).

The wise man continued: Add the God Principle in our daily lives and the problems will become lighter and eventually will disappear. In the manner of the ice which, with the addition of the heat principle will turn into water, and that will eventually evaporate as steam and disappear. And how do we add God's name in our daily lives? Through prayers, filled with true love and devotion with sincerity of purpose and dedication that only total faith can bring about. Meditation is a powerful means of directing the mind Godward.

But without true love and devotion entering into it, it remains like a boat without water. It is not difficult to push a boat that is floating in water, but extremely hard to drag the same boat on dry land.

Sorry, no page. I just never did it. I am not to good on this computer but one day...... Irene and everyone, please pray for my very good long time friend, Carol. She is very ill and unless the Lord intervenes she will lose her fight. She is a wonderful Christian and has taught me so much she is young but very ill. She has been in the hospital more last year then she was home. And if it is her time to go be with the Lord then she has the victory. Until then she is in much pain and suffering. Please pray for Carol. Thank you so very much.

Qualified for God

“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

The Lord knows an outward appearance may or may not be an indicator of what’s in the heart. A smile on the outside can still mask a frown on the inside. An outwardly positive attitude may still wrestle with negative feelings from past hurt. A handsome man may maintain an ugly heart, while a beautiful woman can project an unattractive spirit. Good looks do not guarantee a grace filled life. God goes straight to the heart of what matters most: humility, fear of God and love.

Is your heart in the hand of your heavenly Father? Like a heat seeking missile, is your heart’s desire hot for the things of God? The praise of people may lead you to think more highly of your contributions than Christ’s. So, invite the Holy Spirit to translate man’s praise into a tool to purify your heart. He will burn away impure motives and replace them with righteous ones. After all, your life is all of grace or none at all. You stay qualified for God by keeping a heart for God.

“His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Psalm 147:10-11

The eyes of men are attracted to attractive Kings of strong stature, but the eyes of the Lord look for humble shepherds with a heart for service. Indeed, we are wise to keep our aspirations in line with Almighty God’s. We don’t obsess with our outward appearance for it fades away, but we do adorn our spirit with the grace of God for its beauty is eternal. Our heavenly Father specializes in making His children cute and adorable. The inner work of the Spirit shapes our soul for God.

Therefore, select and follow leaders who are qualified by God. Avoid smooth talkers with a hard heart. Take your time at work to hire not only those who can get the job done, but who get it done with a humble hurt. Wait on marriage for the one whose heart seeks the Lord and who seeks to serve others. Ask the Lord to give you a mental and emotional diagnostic to discern a person’s spirit. Better to invest in those with ordinary abilities and looks, but with an extraordinary heart.

“He [Christ] will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears.” Isaiah 11:3

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray my inner self will be beautiful in Your sight.

This might make you cry, it might make you laugh but sure to make you smile at the end and yes, pass it on.

Lucky the Dog

Mary and her husband Jim had a dog named "Lucky." Lucky was a real character. Whenever Mary and Jim had company come for a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because Lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy. Inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing.

Mary or Jim would go to Lucky's toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be, amid all of Lucky's other favorite toys. Lucky always stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his toys stay in the box.

It happened that Mary found out she had breast cancer. Something told her she was going to die of this disease....in fact, she was just sure it was fatal.

She scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders. The night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled with Lucky. A thought struck her.... what would happen to Lucky? Although the three-year-old dog liked Jim, he was Mary's dog through and through. If I die, Lucky will be abandoned, Mary thought. He won't understand that I didn't want to leave him. The thought made her sadder than thinking of her own death.

The double mastectomy was harder on Mary than her doctors had anticipated and Mary was hospitalized for over two weeks. Jim took Lucky for his evening walk faithfully, but the little dog just drooped, whining and miserable.

Finally the day came for Mary to leave the hospital. When she arrived home, Mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up the steps to her bedroom. Jim made his wife comfortable on the couch and left her to nap. Lucky stood watching Mary but he didn't come to her when she called. It made Mary sad but sleep soon overcame her and she dozed.

When Mary woke for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong. She couldn't move her head and her body felt heavy and hot. But panic soon gave way to laughter when Mary realized the problem. She was covered, literally blanketed, with every treasure Lucky owned! While she had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement bringing his beloved mistress all his favorite things in life. He had covered her with his love.

Mary forgot about dying. Instead she and Lucky began living again, walking further and further together every day. It's been 12 years now and Mary is still cancer-free. Lucky? He still steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but Mary remains his greatest treasure.

Remember . . . live every day to the fullest. Each minute is a blessing from God. And never forget.... the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care for us.

If you see someone without a smile today give them one of yours! Live simply. Love seriously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Kathy I never heard of Stephens Ministry. Sounds interesting. You are still young and God has his hand on you and you are anointed of the Lord. As long as you are here God has something for you to do. I know He must have something for me to do and I continue doing what I can do.
God bless you Kathy. You are sweet.

Thank you for todays post also! I am 62 and I will not stop working. It is my life, my mother just does not understand. She actually never did. I use to go to a Free Methodist church and ministered for years there as children's ministry director. I taught and was very active in all the woman's ministries. Prayer and Bible study. My church went through all the things that some churches do.....we stuck it out until what was left was one family pretty much calling the shots. Finially we decided to leave after years of struggle. I was heartbroken but we found a church that is very evangelical and very involved in the community and a church of prayer. We are involved in 2 prayer meetings and a Bible study and finding our place here. How I feel led and had from the first that we began here is to do the training for "Steven's Ministry". I have been talking to the Pastor about that. Have you heard of Stevens Ministry? Many denominations have it. It is coming alongside those who are having a struggle. The pastor hears of a need and he pairs up a Steven's Minister with that person to help them get through whatever that need is. So that is where I am at now but I am still grieving the loss of my old fellowship. My husband is also involved and my children are grown and are serving the Lord also. God is so good. I am very thankful that I have found this site and that I have "met" you. I will also pray for you.

Purpose Fulfillment

“I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills his purpose to me.” Psalm 57:2

Providence has a personal purpose for His people. Our gracious God guarantees a grant of wisdom into His ways. He wants us to experience His eternal aims for His glory. Paul stated this principle of providential purpose fulfillment crystal clear when he stated with conviction, “…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). His purpose fulfillment started when we placed our faith in Jesus. This was our contract with Christ that placed the responsibility of fulfilling His purpose at the feet of our Heavenly Father. Our Lord finishes anything and everything He has begun since our belief in Him. Whatsoever the Lord takes in hand, He will accomplish. So we trust the Almighty with the fulfillment of His purpose for our life. Therefore, it is imperative that we intercede to understand Him.

Prayer positions us to harvest heaven’s purpose for our life. We cry out to the Most High because there is nothing, or no one, any higher. He is at the top. He is the divine decision maker. He is our Maker. There is no one else we can go to for an understanding of the purpose of providence for our life than the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith is not dumb. We pray because we believe there is a better way than our very limited wisdom. We can get by with the wisdom of the world, but we can thrive with the wisdom of Almighty God. We cry out to Christ because He has adopted us. He is our Heavenly Father from whom we define our purpose by His purpose for us. Prayer pulls out His purpose front and center.

Prayer to God is proof of our trust in God. When we send our prayers to heaven, God will send help down from heaven. Unless we pray, as well as trust, our trust will fail us. Trust can become trivial if persistent prayer does not back it up. Prayer brings trust into the reality of God’s promises and purpose for our life. Prayer is potent because it aligns us with the purposes of Almighty God. Moreover, once we understand His personal purpose, we can rest assured of His follow through of its fulfillment on our behalf. Furthermore, put pen to paper and prayerfully define your God-given purpose. Use this definition as a filter for decision-making. This becomes your accountability to God and others to say ‘no’.

Lastly, lean into the Lord to lead you in His purpose for your life. Once you have established His purpose for you, leverage that for others. Use your strength of position to help others discover their God-given purpose. Have them list their gifts, skills, passions and experiences. Pray with them of how God wants to collate their assets for Christ. Assure them that their Heavenly Father will fulfill His purpose for them, as He did with His own son at just the right time (Galatians 4:4, NASB). Be patient in the implementation of God’s purpose for your life. Remember you are living His purpose now. No season of life is insignificant in the Lord’s eyes. Don’t wish away where you are today. By faith, you can be sure that Christ is currently fulfilling your purpose. Make sure your goals are God-given and then trust Him with their fulfillment. A prayerful purpose is patient with God!

Kathy how old are you? I'm sure you are younger than I and my pastor won't let me stop teaching and working in the gifts of the spirit in the church. If we are still alive that means God still has a purpose for our lives and something for us to do. emoticon

Oh, Irene, this was for me today. Thank you, it answered some of my "fears" about ministering in a new church. When my mother told me to " just go to church, you did enough at the other church, let the younger ones do it now." When I said "Lord show me my place here, what shall I do for you now??" This devotion will stay on my computer and be read again and prayed about and I know that the Lord does not want me to just be saved and "sit". I read this and thought this is for me at this time in my life. Thank you so much.

See Greater Things

"Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.” John 1:50

Jesus expects His followers to see greater things than they have already experienced. The life of Christ is full of greater graces that come with bolder faith and surrender to the Spirit’s control. Greater things could be children who surpass their parents by influencing the globe with the gospel. Access to the world may come in building orphanages, hospitals and schools---all in Jesus' name. Thus, technology harnessed for the Kingdom sees greater things for God. Think big!

Our salvation is just the beginning of beginning to see things from the Lord’s perspective. Not only has Christ saved us from something (sin, hell, self), He has saved us for something (righteousness, heaven, Himself). We’re not to stay stuck in the infancy of our conversion, but move forward fashioned by the Holy Spirit’s plan. Our faith experience may surpass those who influenced our spiritual journey. The student sometimes sees greater things than the teacher.

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12

You may have served in the shadow of someone else, but the Lord is leading you to take a larger leadership role. He is moving you out of your comfort zone into His trust zone. Christ knows that for you to advance to the next level in your faith you need to position your life for His greater things. Perhaps He is calling you to a role in government to use your influence for Kingdom initiatives. Like Joseph, your political platform can be organized for the greater good of God’s greater things.

God’s greater things are what stretch you toward sacrificial service for His ideals. Are you coasting toward Christ or is your life gaining spiritual momentum with each step of faith? Remember what Jesus told you in your time of intimacy with Him: “Your are special. You are mine. I have greater things for you.” Therefore, take Him at His word. Engraft His word into your heart and seek His greater things: prayer, family Bible study, marketplace ministry and missions.

“What more can David say to you? For you know your servant, Sovereign Lord. For the sake of your word and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made it known to your servant.” 2 Samuel 7:20-21

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to wisely steward the greater things You have for me.

I especially liked reading the part about asking ourselves "What would Jesus do?" I want to do this more often.

Wise Living

“Who is wise? He will realize these things. Who is discerning? He will understand them. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.” Hosea 14:9

Wise living keeps the realization and understanding of God in the vortex of your thinking. God awareness is a centerpiece. “What would Jesus do?” becomes a way of life. His desires, His motivations, His thoughts, and His character become paramount in your thinking. This leads to wise living because it is based on Christ-like living. God’s ways are the path to wisdom. The wisdom of God is unfathomable. But He is willing to share it. In fact, His preference is to shower His children with raindrops of wisdom. He delights in imparting His game plan for living.

However, it takes a regular realization on our part for the wisdom of God to penetrate our thinking. We must become people of the book. Joshua said it best: “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1:8).

Wise living includes the ability to discern right from wrong and good from best. Use the Bible as your guide for wise recommendations. Your ability to discern will grow as you mature in the faith. You may be a pretty good judge of character, but God wants to grow you in this area. Your discernment is a gift to your husband for protection against unwise decision-making (I Corinthians 2:14). He may not appreciate this yet, but if he is wise, he will. Therefore, present your insights with grace and humility. By faith, extract your overly aggressive emotion and replace it with a prayerful appeal. Hold your suggestions with an open hand, trusting God to work on your husband in His timing. He is accountable to God. Sweet relief. You don’t have to change him, but God can.

What God changes stays changed. What you change has a tendency to revert to its old way of doing things. You see what needs to be done as clearly as the nose on your face. Be patient. Let your husband fail. Plant seeds, pray, and watch the Holy Spirit turn the heart of your husband toward the right direction. It is not about you convincing him. Rather, it is all about the Spirit of God convincing him. If he is wise, he will seek your discernment (Proverbs 18:15). He may have to fall on his face first. Use your discernment as a steady-handed and skilled surgeon would a sharp scalpel. Avoid bludgeoning him with your accurate insights. The right timing, tone, and transparency are terrifically effective.

Wise is the husband or wife who listens to their spouse. Therefore, be humble and teachable. Understanding and discernment will follow. This is wise living.

Jesus is the Gift

by Max Lucado • December 28

Little Carol with the pigtails, freckles, and shiny back shoes. Don’t let her sweet description fool you. She broke my heart! On the day of the great gift exchange in my fourth-grade class, I ripped the wrapping paper off the box to find—stationery. Stationery! Brown envelopes and folded note cards with a picture of a cowboy lassoing a horse. What ten-year-old boy uses stationery? There’s a term for this kind of gift: obligatory!

I know we shouldn’t complain, but don’t you detect a lack of originality? And when a person gives a genuine gift, don’t you cherish the presence of a gift just for you? Have you ever received such a gift? Yes, you have. You’ve been given a perfect personal gift. One just for you. God says to anyone who’ll listen: ”There has been born for you…a Savior…. ” Jesus is the gift!

“There has been born for you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11”

Well now I know how to pray and I am. What is the surgery for if I may ask? I really don't need to know! Sorry. Looks like you are sore up and down. So you really need to feel the Lord as he helps you through this difficult time. Isn't it the way of God to bring people into our lives to encourage? I was needing some encouragement just yesterday because I was frustrated with my brother who is handicapped. I had to pray for forgiveness for my anger. And God reminded me of 2 people who are in my prayer group who work with handicapped people and will listen to my concerns. God is so good. I got up from prayer with a whole new outlook! God cares about everything we go through. When it gets difficult remember that YOU are a wonderful encouragement to us and that you are being prayed for. AND, ugh, you are not in the snow! God bless you as you heal from that fall.

Kathy what a beautiful post. I called a person from the church last night who is taking the pastor's place because my water heater gave out and now they have fans drying out carpets and baseboard.
Then yesterday witth the air conditioner going out. And it being over 80 and over 90 in here. Whew. emoticon
I know it is the enemy trying to put me into depression before my surgery.
The person I called said he appreciates the older people in the church who work for the Lord and bragged on me so much it encouraged me. Just when you think you are closing down someone comes along to encourage. He said the churches don't take care of the widows especially those who work for the Lord as they should.
I see the doc today as I have one foot twice the size as the other, need to ask him if I should have a flu shot or not, and Monday I slipped on some loose gravel and hit my head on my car. I never have head aches but now I am having headaches (slight) on the other side of the head.
Sorry I emoticon on your shoulder.

If you were in my church, Irene, I would be seeking you out to get to know you! When I first became a Christian (about 1974) I was a young mother and a really wise gal advised me to get to know some of the "older" women in the church. I did and I still do. We moved to another church and I have gotten to know the gals that I saw were grounded and loving and a good example. Now I am one of those "older women in the church" and I hope to be the same kind of example that some dear ones have been to me. Anyway, you are a dear and I thank you for your devotions and for your grounded example. emoticon

Big Challenges

“Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:36-37

Big challenges challenge those strongest in the faith. David faced the biggest challenge of his young life when his life and liberties (economic, political, religious) were at risk. However, the Lord is larger than any hard times looming on the horizon. Heaven’s resources are more than adequate to face down earth’s formidable giants of fear or hopelessness. Challenges are Christ’s opportunity to lead us into intimacy and innovation with Him. The Lord likes a challenge.

What big obstacle are you facing that threatens your security? Look back on God’s track record of faithfulness and take heart at His effectiveness. You may face the giant of loneliness in your home. You can feel lonelier married than single, if the one you love does not love you back. Get alone with your heavenly Father for His comforting presence. He cares. Seek out the support of a safe community with whom you can be vulnerable. Giants flee in the face of praying friends.

“We boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.” 1 Thessalonians 1:4

Perhaps uncontrolled anger is consistently the biggest challenge you face. The stress of life has led you into unhealthy habits. Alcohol is like a fuse that detonates an explosion of anger in your mind. It numbs your heart. Allow the grace of God to heal your hurting heart or you will continue to hurt others. Take your pain to the cross and crucify it where Christ died for your sins. Healing comes as you are honest with yourself, God and others. Receive God’s forgiveness and forgive yourself.

Above all else, look into the face of your heavenly Father as you face big challenges. He will give you the wisdom to get the work done. He will give you the relationships and resources that resonate with what needs to be accomplished. He will give you the faith to keep moving forward. There is no mountain of tribulation that you cannot traverse with trust in the Lord. Stay on the journey with Jesus and He will see you through. Big challenges reveal your big God!

“None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” Romans 8:37-39, The Message

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for facing down my big challenges for Christ’s sake.

Coronation Day

by Max Lucado • January 9

What are we doing here? I mean—is God up to something? If he is—what is it? Yeah. . .and where’s he taking us?

You can’t get more basic than these questions. The answer is one word: kingdom! God is creating a kingdom—an eternal population to reign with him in the new heaven and the new earth. Psalms 72 says “He will rule from sea to sea and from the river to the ends of the earth. . .all kings will bow down to him and all nations will serve him” (vs:8-11). It’s the promise of an anointed King, a Messiah.

It’s all about the King and his kingdom—God’s plan! The Bible tells us that at the right time God will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and in earth!

That will be some coronation day, don’t you think?
