Personally, I cannot eat after dinner at all. After I clean up the kitchen I brush and floss and I'm done for the night. I don't want to be like my husband. He has been a nighttime grazer, and because he is diabetic, it shot up his blood sugar during nighttime effect. Thus the stroke. Now he has no choice but to eat nothing after dinner but a tiny little bit of carb and protein before bed and it is making him very unhappy. Habits are hard to make and hard to break, but not impossible. Better not wait for the death threat like my husband.

I just want to get to the place that I can think of food & not obsess on food. I still have a problem with evenings. I just want to eat & eat. I'm OK as long as I'm working. I try to "save up" a few calories to accommodate this. Do you all have any other thoughts which might help????

I agree. I wish we could post a little below our goal.. Like even 2 pounds. That is a normal fluctuation for me. Even 2 pounds up. Today I was 125.2 Still maintaining.

Power, Spark's not letting us go below "goal" is one of the things we have all complained about. Spark is a weight loss site and maintainers are kind of an afterthought. Even though they claim to have a Stage 5 for us.

I just took my ticker off my signature. It's easier than showing a changed goal all the time. I always know what I weight even if I can't log it in anymore.

I am actually a little below goal & I found that I had to change my goal on the site...they won't let me love being in the "below goal" category! LOL!

My goals are simple:
P=Pray & meditate
O=Offer service to God & others
W=Work toward order in my life (includes health)
E=exercise mind & body
R=read, relax, & re-group (plan)

Nell, I went to Weight Watchers in 1968 in Columbia, Missouri. We met in a motel conference room and it cost $2 per week. You got a cook book on week 5 with a green cover. I remember whipped cauliflower instead of potatoes. You became a member on week 16 if you had lost at least 10 pounds. I lost over 20 in 14 weeks, but then left to be a Peace Corps Volunteer in applied nutrition. It made me feel like I looked much more like the part. I do remember exchanges back then. I was also a fan of Adele Davis (Let's Eat Right to Keep Fit) and she liked Weight Watchers, but at the time it had no separate oil or fat and she advised adding one tablespoon of oil. I always kind of felt like I was cheating when I added it and not healthy when I didn't. You couldn't have potatoes at all. No rice. The only starch you got was bread. I remember the cookbook lasagna had you boil down tomato juice for sauce and slice the bread in half longways to make the lasagna "noodles." Rhubarb was free and I made a big pot of it with sacharrine. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane!!

So many people in need of prayer.
I have felt weak, tired and dizzy lately. Also had blood in my bm.
Went to the doc and am waiting for the results of the blood work from another doc.
I don't know what is going on and I think they don't either

I think the exchange plan was introduced in 1977 or so. The plan before that was the Norman Jolliffe heart healthy diet, the one I lost weight on. It was very restrictive: no beans or starchy vegetables at all. As WW started to add them in, they decided that the American Diabetes Association's exchange plan was the best way to explain it and have it work. Then, I guess, 15 years ago, WW decided that people were eating out so often, and wanted packaged foods most of the time when home, that exchanges just didn't work enough to get people coming in and being successful, so they introduced Points. By that time nutrition info was required on packaged food so a Point conversion plan was workable. WW has been fine-tuning it ever since. For myself, "eat until satisfied" has never, even after 40 years, meant anything. I have to measure it out and be satisfied with what is on a plate. I eat out so seldom, and eat no prepared or packaged food, that it still works for me, but if WW were relying on people like me, they'd go out of business. I am getting OLD!!

Which is the point: eat right and stay active and you WILL get old!! And feel great while doing it.

My problem now is watching a husband who has chosen to eat grease and processed carbs for years, become diabetic, and not change his ways. I am going to make an appointment with an endocrinologist for him, and I hope the appt is actually an intervention. Maybe I'll get the whole family to be present. And a camera. What a scene for YouTube that would be!!

Popping in to say hello. I finally have a day off. TGIS! emoticon

Hard to believe it is 6 1/2 years already.
You probably over 20 or 30 years at maintenance and doing so well. I'm glad you stuck to the WW plan that works for you so well and is such a great one.
Every couple of years a new plan is introduced to the members. Probably a marketing technique....

I'm in my goal range and loving the "simply Filling technique" of the new WW program PointsPlus (very similar to the previous "Core" plan), especially that those who are at maintenance and at goal, AND are following the "Simply Filling Technique" get 90 weekly points, while everyone else get 49 weekly points.
What a great change!!!

I am still at goal and not looking to lose any more. I have to weigh-in for my regional manager in one week and that does not scare me at all!

Reached my goal November 2009!

Weight Watchers worked for me and now I work for Weight Watchers.

I weighed this morning and am still right at 110. I must have set my goal right because my body seems to want to stay right there and I love how I look and feel after getting those pesky 10 pounds off and keeping them off.

Lunch at a Christian women's fellowship with wonderful speakers.
The SPIRITUAL food was excellent.

I'm doing pretty good. Down a little over 4 pounds in the last 7 weeks. Just .8 pounds to go to get to my adult lifetime low at Weight Watchers and almost 3 pounds to go to get to my adult low here at home. Then I am going to truly try to quit losing weight. Can't wait to get back to where I truly am trying to balance calories in and calories out.

I was up to 141 after my first few months of teaching full time (started in September), but didn't gain any over the holidays.

I can happily say that I am back down to the top of my goal range- 135! Working hard to stay in range!

I gained 1.5 # since New years day. Still hadn't been fully back to exercise routine following surgery. But I'm ok to resume now, an watching intake a little more closely. I'm still below my desired weight goal, so I'm not concerned -- but I will stay on top of it. Won't find out 'till next week if my thyroid levels are ok or need to be supplemented. That could be part of the gain as well. Keep on with your plan, folks! We Can Do It!

bounced up more than my standard 1-2 #s and freaked out emoticonemoticon
Figured it was higher than my normal levels of sodium and dropped 1.5 last night, thank god!

So very close to goal. Really kicked up the ab crunches and trying to do different things to flatten the abs and tighten the butt.

I gained 2 lb. over the holidays. It is coming off very slowly...1/2 lb. a week. But at that rate, it should be off by the end of January! I love the new WW program. It may not be fast, but I feel more satisfied.

Taking care of an ill husband since Dec 1 has caused me to LOSE weight! The holidays kind of came and went in a blur of medical disasters, and heavy, exhausting patient care.

I think I'd rather have gained a few pounds.

Still at goal, but haven't managed to quite get to maintaining yet. IE I was doing a set calorie limit with about 60 minutes per day while loosing weight. I then in trying to go to maintenance, left the calories the same and reduced exercise to 45 minutes per day, but continued to loose a tad of weight, just much slower. So still haven't quite managed to get into maintenance.

4/20/13 Neighborhood Watch 5K 39:17.6
10/5/13 5K Grace Pet Fest 38:47.6
12/1/13 Secret City Half Marathon, hopefully in under 3 hours!
