Praying for a good recovery for your father -- then he can enjoy a GREAT holiday season!

My dad has a new hip! As of yesterday. So he will not be with us physically for Thanksgiving.

Marsha - have a super day! Those quiet holidays can be very special, too! (though my heart goes out to those who are alone, lonely, and sad -- saw on Facebook that some of my West Coast cousins fit that category this year)

It's just my hubby and me this year. He was hoping to do something really different and go with Alaska King Crab. We'll see.
Christmas I'll be holiday cooking for a big family group. Once a year is enough for me, so I'm fine with it.

Carrie - I applaud your planning for healthy choices! Though we love traditions, life is full of changes, and good ones can enhance the joy of celebrating with family and friends! I'll be anxious to hear what recipes you try, and how they turn out!

I'm not seeing family, so I'm preparing a healthy meal. I've spent weeks going thru recipes to find things that will taste good, look well on the plate, and be interesting.

Rissaspieces -- enjoy your Thanksgivig meal out -- if you choose wisely and are conscious of portions, you'll be fine!

I am conflicted, because I am adjusting to PointsPlus. We are continuing our tradition of eating out at a place where they serve small portions...so even the worst I can do will not harm me too badly!

Susie, if I made anything different my family would kill me. They look forward to the same old feast for each holiday every year. It's as important as the same old decorations. We all change, but the celebrations are almost liturgical in their regularity.

Couldn't decide where to post this -- I made a "FIND" yesterday and wanted to share it! Went to Great Harvest Bread thinking that starting my dressing with good whole grain bread would be better than the packaged stuffing mix. What I found surprised me: they make "Stuffing Bread" -- with all the onion, celery, and spices baked into the bread! I've got it cut into cubes and drying out. It already smells/tastes like stuffing!! Will just need to add some sauted mushrooms, maybe apple chunks and cranberries, and the chicken broth and Voila! I'm super excited and hope it will be wonderful! Anyone else found something new for this year's Thanksgiving meal?
