I am finding that a have a day every few days where I want to eat more. It works out over the week and I am not having any problems maintaining. I am still not seeking out any high calorie "treat" foods. I am still eating healthy with portion controlled less healthy snacks.

I was on a camping and canoe trip for 4 days. I ate a ton, but paddled 12 hours over 3 days, so should have burned most of it off. Next time I will put trail mix into single serving size packets since it's so "high test". It was a great fuel, though.

Went shopping yesterday and it rained buckets. Got a bit wet but it was OK.

I tried on size 6 pants--to big.
I tried on size 6 petite pants--fit was good.
I tried on size 4 shorts--fit fine.

I should have tried a size 4 pants--didn't think of doing it.

BTW--I learned recently that a petite size is smaller than a regular in the same size. Who knew?

Sounds like some fun trips being planned.

Eating out is one of my struggles. I'm going to have to find some solutions because we'll be doing more of it when we take our trip to Yellowstone in August. I know once we are there I'll at least be doing tons of walking, but the all day car rides traveling there will be tough.

I am having a good day. A bit before 6 each day we take our dog Joey to the dog park. He loves it and we enjoy socializing with the owners. Today Alex is blessing us with a drenching rain so no dog park. I walked Joey this morning and then walked myself. I like to walk again about 7:30 but it isn't going to happen tonight.

I am scheduled to play pickleball in the morning. I should check to see if rain is expected.

For all traveling--have fun.

Oldmom, I'll be heading through South Dakota on our way to Oregon. Vacation is, alas, about eating out every day. I will weigh the morning before I go, the minute I get home (and panic) then the next morning. This time, we'll be heading back out for another 5 days, so August will have to be the Month of Grilled Veggies.

We can be careful, though. No dessert is worth a heart attack when we get home. But I wouldn't trade my trips for anything, would you? Enjoy your visit!!

Nature hiking sounds wonderful, but day after tomorrow I'm headed off for another kind of vacation and a different challenge to my maintenance. I'm going to South Dakota to celebrate with my mom her 83rd birthday. I know she plans to eat out a lot and her activity level is limited. I plan to make as wise a food choices as possible without being a total wet blanket and to get a little time to myself for activity as well. We'll see how it goes. If worse comes to worse, it's right back on it when I get home, but I don't think it will come to that.

So, I'm ending June just above the bottom of my target range. Weighed 126.4 this morning, with an acceptable range of 126-133. That makes 15 months of living in the healthy BMI range. Hooray!

OK, Nell, I do love it, but maybe not that much wilderness. We still bring mostly real food. I am really looking forward to seeing the Barron Canyon, though, as part of our trip. It looks gorgeous in the pictures.

Stephanie, in 2003 my youngest son quit his job to hike the Appalachian Trail. All 2,000 plus miles in about 5 months. I sent him boxes of food to post offices that cooperate with thru hikers; they hold boxes for 30 days. I bought those dehydrated camping meals that you cook right in the pouches. And I had to look for the highest calorie count food I could get. They would hike down off the trail every week or so to dump their trash, wash their 4 pieces of clothing and take a shower (no trash cans or bathing on the trail) and pick up the next box. And eat as much as they could stuff in their mouths. And he came back skinny as a rail. Wilderness camping is a serious calorie burner. If you love it as much as he does you will have a wonderful time!

I am going wilderness camping for 4 days over the weekend, and this time I WILL NOT gain weight from eating too much good food. I am not even bringing junk food, have to be careful with the portions as we have to canoe it all in, and will paddle every day.

Awesome. I love seeing how making healthy decisions changes all aspects of your life.

Just came back from a 4 day weekend at the lake. I'm so proud of myself for getting through vacation time without over eating or foregoing exercise. I made mostly healthy food choices - and made sure those that weren't so healthy were really worthy splurges! And I got up and ran around the lake every morning.

I agree. I used to dread exercise and now I love it.

My blood pressure has come down from 140/90 average to 115/65 average. My cholestrol has come down from 229 to 159, with my HDL going up (now at 55) and LDL going down.

I want to live healthy forever! I'm at a normal weight now, but I think I can still learn to eat healthier and achieve more fitness goals. At least I'm going to give it a good try.

Congrats to all who are getting healthier with SparkPeople!!

RUSTBUCKET1 I have just started getting into running. I never would have imagined how much I would enjoy it!

Today's weigh in was +1. I'm still well within my range, so I'm good with that. And I did eat out several times this last week. I guess I allowed myself too many birthday week splurges emoticon

Congrats everyone on your amazing achievements. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and the proper weight that goes with it can be FUN! I am enjoying activities that I huffed and puffed through last year. It is great to be able to run and bike and hike without all those extra pounds. It's like getting your life back. emoticon

It is official, I am still a few pounds under goal as of my weight watchers meeting this evening. I mean, I weigh daily and keep track, so I know I have been maintaining, but I am so tied to Weight Watchers, that I really only feel like it is OFFICIAL when I perform my monthly weigh-in!

Reached my goal November 2009!

Weight Watchers worked for me and now I work for Weight Watchers.

I reached goal weight last April (2009), stayed there for the summer, and then gained a few pounds. Reached goal again in April this year, and then gained a couple of actual pounds. I am in the range I want to be in, and I think I am physically smaller than I was when I weighed a few pounds less. I have been running, cycling and doing the 30DS and I have gotten pretty muscular. My final goal is a moving target, but I will know it when I get there. I am happy where I am now, though. It's just a matter of where my body settles in. Glad to be on a team with all this support.

emoticon and emoticon to all of you maintainers out there. It's a great feeling for me to be in my 120's, my range is 123 to 125. My weight watchers range is 125 as goal and no more than 127. Never got back to 127. I'd rather stay below 125 to keep myself "safe".

I just officially joined this team. I reached my goal April 1 & have been holding steady since then. I had hoped to lose 2-4 more pounds to give me a range but that is not happening. I am still trying to stay in my "losing weight" calorie range & exercising like before. As long as I can stay in 120-ville I am happy!

Friday is One Year since I moved to Maintenance Stage according to my Spark records. This week's Spark Lifestyle Check-up found me 2.5# below the 145 I've been staying at (not quite sure how, 'cause I'm sure not trying to lose anymore). SP doesn't like that my current weight is below my goal weight -- but I don't want to change my range to appear like I am trying to lose more. Mostly I'm really happy eating healthy, but I do have days when I feel like snacking all day. Try to balance out with longer walks those days. We'll be on vacation next 2 weeks -- I plan to make healthy choices at meals, and I know we'll be walking & hiking, so I plan to come back still at or very close to my goal weight. Blessings to all! Mary, as someone who always gains a couple of pounds on a vacation of any length, to be away for so long and come back the same weight is absolutely awe-inspiring! 3 oz is less than the weight of your underwear. Amazing!

Still maintaining, and it's pretty close to a miracle. I've spent the last month on vacation in Europe and then visiting family out of state. I was sure I'd come home fatter and sassier, but I gained 2/10 lb. over the month. Pretty proud of myself.

Yes indeed! I have dropped my body fat since early January almost a full point to 14.2%. I am pretty lean and that is hard to do at this point. My husband and I are taking classes offered at our local Y for triathlon training so changing up my activity helps.

I know I'll be going through some plus and minus weeks as I get settled in, but it was nice to see no change since I've been adding in more calories!

Yes. Tomorrow's the "official" center weigh-in, but I know I'm within or slightly below my "official" range. I still have plenty of wiggle room in the "desired" BMI range, so I'm not sweating a little summer time lower weight!

The danger, of course, is in overdoing... in either direction. Maintenance is a whole different kind of trip. I think I like it!

I am just a pound above goal and that is okay HOWEVER, I would like to switch gears into full speed again. My cardio is right on the money but I need to start an ST program that would both tone and help my running. I would also concentrate on losing another 3-4 pounds.

Now to come up with a solid plan.

I am currently at a weight that fits the charts. However, I am not convinced it is where I really should be. I get in a great deal of activity, but I am having difficulty these days eating regularly, and getting in enough calories. I was questioned about additional diabetic tools, which would help so much with meal planning, as I need to use those portions, which makes it more challenging.
Any suggestions would always be welcomed. I have reached that point we all do when it is time change our thinking. I don't have the initial fear resulting from health concerns, but am much more obsessed as I try to maintain and finally achieve at the ideal weight.

Teresa

Still maintaining within my range. Have been down to just where I want to be in the last week. I'm up a couple pounds right now. Wouldn't mind fluctuating maybe 2 pounds less, but overall I feel fantastic at this weight!

I have been my first goal of BMI 25 for 15 months now, and around BMI 20 for three months now. I'm gaining in confidence of my ability to maintain this weight every day!

I am still working towards my goal weight, but am successfully holding 6lbs above my goal weight. I hope this month I'll inch closer to my goal.

Still hovering a couple pounds over my goal range, but working on cleaning up the eating, which I have to admit was getting sloppy...exercise is good, but I'll make it better! I think part of the problem is I was doing a lot of skiing (nordic) this winter which burns a LOT of calories, and I'm not doing that since mid-April, which is when I started noticing the scale going up...

highest weight ever:202, SP starting weight: 143

New goal: more practical new goal, 129, update ticker to reflect that goal.

I haven't weighed in for June yet. I am waiting until Friday. May was a busy month... was only home one weekend the whole month. Celebrated my daughter's law school graduation for 4 days, the birth of first grandnephew for three days and friend's 50 wedding anniversary for 3 days. Couldn't keep up activity because of pulled hamstring. All festivities are done, hamstring is better and I have had a great start today with cardio, strength training and good eating.

Lost 65 lbs and maintained since 2006.

I actually thought I would gain a few after a memorial day weekend of hot dogs (three), birthday cake, wine, fried seafood, and much more, but I only gained a couple pounds in water weight (back to current weight after two workouts)! Yay for high metabolism!

Currently maintaining 120 to 125 pounds for nearly a year!

I'm still working to get down to my goal, but even with increasing my calories by 200, my weight is stable, but I am feeling better than I was as I have more energy (I was having troubles with eating too few calories for what I was burning...)

Hopefully in June I will reach my goal weight.

Maybe you could eat the same foods but add little extras e.g. instead of using semi-skimmed milk use whole milk. Instead of one piece of chicken have two. You could also try snack bars that usually have a hundred calories in one.

Yes, I am still maintaining. My WW goal is 125 and I'm 124 today. Had some salty foods over the weekend. I'm happy to be 123 to 125.

May was my first full month on maintenance, too. I'm officially 2 pounds below my goal now.

I'm finding adding calories difficult. I waste them on cookies or chocolate. My weight is stable, but I need to work on my nutrition. Still exercising too.

I consider myself maintaining. I'm a few pounds up thanks to Memorial Day weekend, but some extra exercise, a slightly stricter diet, and it'll be gone by the weekend, so I'm not sweating it.

May was my first month in maintenance. I started May and June at the exact same weight, but it was not a consistent month. I gained (and then lost) 5 pounds.

I am just a half pound up from my goal weight and keeping ever so diligent. It was a pretty good month of May and looking for a little more self control in June. My running is absolutely going great! I am hoping to add ST to the mix this month as it will make me a stronger runner.

New month, new thread! I decided that I would go into WW tonight and get my June weigh-in out of the way. :-) I am sure I am still maintaining, but I will post my official results tonight.

Reached my goal November 2009!
