Hi Everyone! I "officially" surpassed my goal today. Watermellen suggested I join this team, so here I am. I have no track record yet, but I'm determined never to have to lose that weight again!

I am not doing physical therapy, although I have in the past and think it is a good thing. The injury happened 5 days ago and it is 75% better already. I was playing Play-Doh on the floor with my granddaugter and just stood up funny. Guess I twisted or strained my left hip some way.

I did ice. I didn't exercise at all the first day. I'm at about 1/2 intensity and 1/2 duration right now with the exercise. Anyway, I don't think I'm going to need to go to the doctor. Thanks for asking.

Congrats, Joanna and Helluva. Way to maintain!

I chose 127 as my target weight with 127-133 my range. I try to keep my morning, naked weighs below 130. This morning I was 126.4. Hooray! May move my range down a pound. We'll see.

I'm still trying to build muscle and lose body fat %. On reduced exercise due to hip injury right now, so am exercising my patience at the moment.

Good for you Joanna!! I am fluctuating between 124 and 126. My goal weight was 125 so I am very happy. I just reached my goal weight for the first time Saturday, but I think even a solid week of maintenance is a big deal! I feel like I'm on the right path to make this last forever.

On target for April. My weight is currently fluctuating between 122 and 124lbs depending upon what I have eaten the day before (I tend to retain water with complex carb intake such as bean soups). I am extremely active and my clothes are fitting well.

Welcome, Ophellia and Hellavachrldr!! Congrats to both of you for making goal. So glad you chose to join us.

As far as advice, assuming that you lost the weight a healthy way, for the most part you just keep doing what you were doing - wise food choices, portion control, activity, etc. - with a little more food.

Go to the Healthy Lifestyle section of SparkPeople and find the center about Weight Maintenance. I don't remember the exact words. If you can't find it, SparkMail me and I'll send you a link. Be sure to change your goal in SparkPeople and observe your new meal plans and calorie range.

As far as getting started, my best advice is to add the more food slowly, 80 or 100 calories a day. After a week, add more if you are still losing. Weigh at least weekly and cut back if the scale goes over your range. Expect your weight to fluctuate 4 or 5 pounds. Set a weight over which you will not go.

Post any questions you have here. This team is filled with lots of successful, hard working, generous people! Glad you are here, too. -Marsha

Hi - I have reached my goal of 59kg (although at the moment I am 58.3kg) after just over two years. Total lost is 33.6kg / 72 pounds. I have been with Spark since January 2009 but didn't start getting really involved until some months later. Then realised what I had been missing!

I have just joined this team and already I have msgs from some lovely, lovely people.

Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome

I am away from Friday (as long as I can fly out of the uk!) so won't be about for a couple of weeks but I am looking forward to joining everyone in this team for the next exciting phase of the new me!

Hello! I am a maintenance newbie as well..and also a SparkPeople newbie! I always get on and read success stories and check out recipes, and just today I decided I should finally sign up and chat with others who are doing what I'm doing..treating themselves right with a healthy lifestyle! I just surpassed my weight loss goal today and am very excited, but also confused about how to start maintaining and stop losing? Any advice? Thank you all for your encouragement and support! And congrats to EVERYONE for reaching their goals!!!

Welcome and congrats, Ann! As long as you don't give up, maintenance is do-able. And that statement is from someone who gave up over and over and gained her weight back many times. Now I know better.

I find the WW filling food concept very helpful for maintenance, too.

I'm a maintenance newbie, just got to my goal weight at my WW meeting on Tuesday night (4/13), so I haven't really thought about anything BUT maintaining my current weight for the past 48 hours. Guess I'm still in the honeymoon phase! I've never gotten to goal weight before this, it must be over 30 years since I weighed what I weigh now. It's really helpful to hear all your current situations - thank you all for sharing!

I made my goal weight on March 8, 2010 and have been doing pretty good about maintaining around the 120 lbs mark until this morning and I am going over my calander to figure out how I managed to lose another 1.8 lbs without actively trying to do so emoticon I mean I'm happy to be 118.1 lbs but I don't want my weight slipping down too low.

Congrats to all the other maintainers!!

Made goal in mid March and I have been up 2-3 pounds and right back down. I want to limit that to 1-2 pounds. I know the scale won't say the same thing even if my food plan is perfect. Even the weather changes seem to show on the scale!

Been maintaining and holding onto my goal weight since November 29, 2009. Actually I'm under my goal weight and appreciate the challenge of learning to keep it off as well as getting back on track. The weight loss is the easy part, this is the challenge as it is for life. I'm learning.

April is going great for me. On the 4th I lost 1/2 a pound, and, this morning (7th) I lost another 1/2 pound! emoticon

Since I'm still working towards 'fat percentage' loss and another 3 pounds on the 'scale', I have not, yet, begun eating within my maintenance range of 2000 - 2100 calories, so those waters haven't been tested. Soon, though! emoticon

Great job, Mary! emoticon

I had given up the scale for Lent, and to my surprise, I'd lost 4 pounds when I weighed myself on Saturday night! Just goes to show that using other forms of measurement is just as affective for weight loss and management. I attribute the additional loss to running 12 miles a week in addition to other classes at the gym. I still eat 2000 calories plus some a day! I'm amazed at how I've been able to rev up my metabolism.

Currently maintaining 120 to 125 pounds for nearly a year!

Today I weighed in at Weight Watchers in my fifth week after hitting goal. I am still within the four pound allowable weight range, but barely. Next week, Week 6, will be when I get free Lifetime status. I had hoped to be at the bottom of the range by now, but I guess I'm happy I've been able to keep it pretty stable. This maintenance thing is almost scarier to face than weight loss. Not quite, but almost.

As of Friday, I am 8 pounds over where I'm supposed to be, but I expected that. It was a rough several months with a move, a new job, and all the winter weather! But I've rededicated myself to counting calories and working out and I expect to be back to goal soon. I might even sign up for a half marathon relay with my husband! Any advice? Good luck in April everyone!!

March was good, I think most days in my goal range, maybe one or 2 days I just hovered over, but nipped it in the bud, and ended up in range.

So far for April same thing, still in my range, and feeling good!

I understand what sodium can do. My water retention is in high hear today as I was 125.2, and I know it's water weight gain. I should be back to 123 tomorrow and my water pills should be working too as long as I keep drinking water.

Congrats to MarieFunFit and Fit at 50 for good maintenance. I'm doing fine. Don't plan to worry today too much. If I need to cut back this next week I know I can.

Plan to meet with Wellness Coach within the next week to have fat % measured. I see more muscle definition, so I'm hoping there is progress on the gaining muscle/reducing fat arena. We'll see!

Things have finally settled into a good maintenance weight. Though it is lower than I originally planned, I'm perfectly happy. Goal: low 120s. Weight today: 119. (I don't normally weigh every day, but happened to step on the scale yesterday and was 121 - no doubt water weight.)

It's going good with me! Just got home from a 2 day camping trip and I'm happy to announce that my foods remained CLEAN, and my calories fell within the 1,200 range! emoticon

Can't comment on the scale, though, cause Aunt Flow arrived last night. Darn it! Cause, from how thin I looked & felt, yesterday, I'm pretty positive that my body made its 'normal' scale drop...but now it's just a wait to see game! emoticon

Either way...I'm REALLY pleased with how my eating went! Yay me!! emoticon

Too funny, I went to weigh-in for April, only to discover WW was closed for Good Friday, but they forgot to tell anyone or post it on the door. Twenty or so people were all standing around trying to decide if they were closed or the leader was running late. Several said they got their text messages, reminding them of the noon meeting!

Oh, well,I have the rest of the month to get back on the official scale. LOL Since my scale shows I am still maintaining!

I am close to goal. Just about 2-3 pounds left to lose. I am losing so slowly these days I might not have that off by the end of April, but that does not bother me.

Recently made it to my goal weight...yipee! Then I came down with a nasty virus/bacteria bug that has kept me in bed and not eating so I am below my goal weight by 3 pounds. Not the way I really want to maintain my weight!

I weighed in at Weight Watchers this morning since I am lifetime, I have to weigh in at least once a month, and I was .2 above my goal weight. So the answer is yes. I have maintained my goal weight for 4 months.

I wish my "no" were an April Fool, but I am still slightly above my target range. I'm still hanging in there, though, and hope to renew my efforts after Easter Sunday.

I have been at goal for 4 months now and still perfecting my system LOL. I have gone anywhere from 133 to 129 but stay pretty much around 131 with my goal weight 132. if I reach 133 all kinds of sirens go off in my head.

Since it is officially April, I thought I would test the waters as a new team leader here and post the thread for THIS month! No April Fool's here!
