I'm doing well a few months after getting to my goal. My current goal is to get more exercise--I so admire all of you who are runners, but my knees prevent that. Another goal is to continue with the healthier choices I have learned to make, especially with the upcoming holidays.

AAACK! Last month I tried to go to weekly log ins and tracking. Gained 4 pounds. (About a pound a week average) At that rate I will be back up in one year!
I am back to daily log ins and tracking this month and until I get back to goal.

Almost one week with no tracking and I've managed to do pretty well. If the scale is any indication, as of this morning, I've lost 1.2 lbs this past week. I'm keeping up with my exercise and using what I've learned to make healthy choices and watch my portions.

Almost to my bonus goal of 112.

GOAL MET (10/26/2009) - 115lbs!
2nd GOAL MET - (11/09/2009) 112lbs!

I officially started maintenance in March 2009. I'm 77 pounds down from my all time high in 1998. I'm 40 pounds below what I was last year this time.

I have had weeks of gaining and weeks of losing in the past 8 months, but overall I have lost 19.4 pounds in that time. I am now .6 pounds above the bottom of my range. I believe that as of today I am truly starting maintenance. I commit to eating all of my calories using almost all healthy foods, with just an occasional treat.

I'm not going to let my fear of gaining make me too skinny.

I'm doing it, too! Still a newbie in Maintain-land, but I seem to be able to hover where I need to be.

Thinking about trying to drop a few lbs heading in to the holiday season. Thankfully, the last of the Halloween candy is out of the house! Those daily Tootsie Roll pops and hard candies over the past few weeks didn't undo me, but they weren't adding anything (except sugar) to my body. Back to the apples :)

Good going Sarah, that's a great idea to have your husband pack the lunch box, it does ensure you have good choices thru the day!

I'm back in range, and I was a bit surprised, since I had "peeked" at the scale yesterday and was 136.4, today I'm 134.4, so I guess it was water? who can say, but I'll take today's number!

Since I can't step on the scale, I can't say for sure (since I can't really walk at all, heck). But I like to believe I am and that this month marks the end of my THIRD year of maintaining!!!

I take my healthy habits with me, as I'm recovering from surgery. Since I'm on crutches and completely non-weight bearing with my right leg, my husband has to get everything ready for me, before he leaves for work. I have him pack a cooler for lunch... and in it goes the baby carrots, the honeycrisp apple, and the banana (in addition to the rest of lunch). Thus, the only food I can easily access is the healthy stuff... and I eat it before I consider anything less healthy, if I have the room. :)

Hooray for healthy habits, from maintaining!

First weigh in of the month found me .4 above the top of my range, but I'm working on new challenges to work on the snacking problem I have (it's mostly successful!) and actually my measurements were down.

I'm officially starting WEEK 2 of maintaining and I lost another .4lbs this week. So far so good.

I've started running and am training for my first 5K, so that I'm sure will help keep me in shape.

I'm braving a new challenge to myself. I want to go at least 1-2 weeks of not tracking every single thing I eat, but just watch my portions and use what I've learned over the past several months. I'm going to keep running and keep up my strength plan as well.

Let's see how I do. I weigh myself every morning, just to keep myself in check. But I managed to maintain for several years simply by eating less (portion control!), so I am challenging myself to do it again.

Maintaining without tracking. Can I do it? I'm confident I can, as long as I keep up my more active lifestyle and watch how much I eat.

I didn't think I'd get to goal this quickly, so I want to end the year on a good note. My first full month maintaining and just living my life healthier and happier!

I so agree with you. I'm in my 6th year of maintainance and although I've changed so many old habits to healthy ones, it's still NOT easy to maintain my goal weight.
The benefits are wonderful. I just thought that it will become easier and easier in time. In some ways it does, and other ways it doesn't.

Congratulations to all the maintainers and to those who're still working on reaching their goal weight!

I'm almost to my 6th year of maintenance (end of Nov.) It is a priority in my life to stay where I am. I wish I could say I've been at it so long that it is easy now, but it is not ever going to be easy I guess. It is satisfying to stay at a healthy weight, though.
