Going out to take a stroll to get some movement in since I think my cold is turning into a sinus infection.

Trying to get enough calories to keep my metabolism up though I don't have much of an appetite.

Do you just eat less when your body wants less while you are sick? How low are you willing to go on calories?

Becky and Lori

Get attitude and the same numbers for me, it was always 'don't get over 140' then a year ago it was an eye opener at 150.

My one-year SP anniversary is January 17 and I'm at 130lbs with 10 to go. For my 5'1" frame that's still a good fighting weight.

Becky, I'm the same way with being in the 140s vs 150. I guess 150 is my "scream number" as they say. I do protein to after a binge. I eat greek yogurt a couple of times the day after. Plus I'm not so hungry the day after a binge. I'm really working on getting the binge thing under control. It has gotten in the way of my maintenance efforts the past couple of weeks.

Trying to lay low so I don't get bronchitis with this cold, as I did with two colds in 2012. I'm keeping my calories low, but too low because it has caused some retention. I only ate 1100 calories 6 days out of the last 7 and 1500 is best for me. So I need to add on some healthy foods today and not be tempted to supplement my intake with empty calories, which I'm prone to do.

I'm pretty much staying within 1 or 2 lbs of my goal weight and am seriously considering going up to 140. My Dr. thinks 140 is a good weight for me and that I shouldn't go below it. At least until the weather gets nice and I'm working out outdoors more and working harder. We'll see. I'm hovering at 138 right now. I just like the sound of being in the 130's versus the 140's. Silly, cuz it's only a lb.

After my binge last night, I'm back to my protein shake for breakfast and then healthy eating the rest of the day.

SELF_RESPECT~~ keep us informed, you would thing the Vegan lifestyle would kick-in right away. After a SP challenge of 10 daily servings of fruit/veggies, I have been tracking my intake and usually get 6 servings of veggies. sure feel better and miss it when my serving fall below.

For my pre-holidays weight, I still have 3lbs to lose so I’m kicking up the cardio today.

Have my T-Tapp tapes and the arm-DVD is what I’m checking out first… Loving the moves but it will take a while to prefect

Have a WONDERFUL SP DAY!!!

My weight has been going up and down and I can honestly say, I don't know why. I'm tracking - as usual - and have recently adapted a Vegan lifestyle. I don't know if my body is 'adjusting' somehow but it seems odd to me. I think I'll be weighing myself daily to watch what happens.

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, NOTHING & NOBODY will hold me down. I will live my life with integrity and intention. I eat balance bars - caramel nut

Some protein bars are really horrid, so experiment. You usually find them in the health food section of your grocery store, the ones in convenience stores are usually the yucky ones, or the 'well I've had my calories for the day' bars

Gen-sounds great that protein could help me. I eat a good bit of my protein in the morning and I'm good then till afternoon. I get bored or lonely or stressed and the last thing I think of having is protein. Gotta train my brain I guess!

LORILEEPAGE, I was like that too until I discovered protein a few years ago. All it would take was a small piece of fried fish for dinner, and I could NOT get through the next day. By 10am I was thinking about McDonalds, and I remember only twice ever being able to ignore it, and the subsequent binge. Now all I do is grab a couple of protein bars first thing (the good quality kind, not foo foo special K), and it completely zaps any craving for sugary carbs. I even eat the chocolate caramel ones, and it doesn't spark me to eat more chocolate or caramel.

I've been gone a long time, December was a bad month for my family unfortunately. But I'm back, I didn't take a break from running, but I still weigh the same. I did some resistance band exercises last night in an attempt to get into a toning routing, that would be this year's goal. I have to get my body fat down about 4%, and with that comes 6lb.

Back on track with eating. That terrible binge I had is something I don't want to repeat. I need to get it through my brain that a little sweet leads to a lot of sweets in my case. But I feel that total limitations on having them leads to binges. I wish I knew how to find a balance.

TOHIKEAPTRAIL~~ Good Mornig emoticon

Quiet day yesterday, and looks like another one for today. Mom and I are working on a new arts & craft project; its birds made out of ribbon, buttons and different colored material and craft paper. We was going to work on something for our Valentine cards (yes we have to get started this early ;-)) so we are making red robins or yellow canaries with red hearts for the wings.

I will be getting my cardio on the BF treadclimber, and some setups.

Have a GREAT DAY emoticon emoticon emoticon

Great arm moves. I should do them, but I find weight training boring. Well, currently. I did weight training for years three to five times a week. Currently, I'm in a walking mood. I walk all the time. I don't want to stand still or sit still and do weight training.

loss weight and then my body acts scared or ??? and I eat everything. I have just been getting back on the SP exercise and eating plan and in a year I've lost 20 of 30 lbs. Best wishes in figuring out this mystery.

I had binge last night after a stressful encounter with visitor of my house guest. It's stressful enough having overnight guests you only see once a year, without them inviting a friend over. Even though I knew her, I was uncomfortable with where the conversation went.

I ended up having a binge, eating chocolate and cookies and more. I couldn't sleep till 1 am from the caffeine in the chocolate and the pounding heart of a sugar rush. Then I woke up too early. I was groggy and spacey. Couldn't concentrate till around 3 this afternoon, when the hangover subsided.

Another thing that I've noticed is that when I lose a pound, sometimes I end up eating crappy that day. I don't have the mentality of rewarding myself with food, but I think it's a strange reaction I have. Do any of you react to losses with reverting to bad behaviors?

So today I have cleaned up my act. Eating healthy fare and low end of calorie range.

My body feels weird to me. My legs, chest, belly and arms feel strange when I pat them in bed or when I wash them in the shower. It's like part of me are missing. I have been this thin before. I lost weight before during a period of stress, unlike the one I experienced this fall. I shouldn't feel weird because I've been this weight before. However, I do feel weird. It like my legs don't look like my legs, etc. I don't know when this uncomfortable feeling will go away.

I THINK I am a maintainer! NEVER EVER identified myself as such and still not quite sure. lol I wrote a blog called "Self Check" and had a little aha moment. I am recognizing my self-sabotage more and more. 6 holiday lbs up BUT still 5 lbs less than same time last year and maintaining (lose/gain/lose a few) 35-50 loss for over a year! And I reflect back in AWE and say is that really MY story? Oh yes it is! I have not hit my original goal (as close as 3lbs) and have even been up 14 lbs for a couple of months but i did not quit. Still working it out. but with this team advice and support, i have learned that there is no final destination or number? The journey, the joys, and the struggles continue but are so worth it. Keep Sparking!

Yesterday, went well with a lunch date of Salmon, salad, and 1 bread stick. Finished my hour of cardio, ate 6 servings of veggies, and drank my water.

Today is DH’s birthday so mom and I will be making chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies for him.

The 6lbs over Christmas is coming off; no more letting things go for 2 weeks

I put on a couple of pounds during Christmas and want to get them off and work on the next 10 pounds which is my goal for the New Year. I did well until right up to Christmas. Now, I have to get control again!

I put on a few lbs during Christmas and I'm trying to get them off before Jan.1! I do not want to go into the New Year knowing I have to take those lbs. off. My eating is pretty good, but I still am tempted by cookies and candy. We have a few cookies sitting on the counter and they need to go. I've been having major stomach issues for a couple of weeks now and my Dr. doesn't know what they could be. I see another Dr. next week, so if I don't have this resolved by then, I will have to ask him.

Hovering at the bottom of my desired range, with a couple days last week just below the bottom. With much fear and trembling, increased my calorie range. I'm trying to support a running habit, but need to be aware enough to reduce the calories again if I can't run as much as I'd like.

I checked my weight today, before my weigh in tomorrow, and I'm over the top of my weight range. Not by much, but I still am not happy!

So, I'll weigh in tomorrow and see. I've had a lot of sodium and it won't be any better today as I'm having chicken noodle soup for lunch, but we'll see!

Overall, it's not bad. We've had lots of food around that we normally don't, so I know I'll be down by the first of the year!

My daughters are home--first time since August. I am having trouble eating--doing too much eating. I have to--I think the "emotional eating" is showing up again. I WILL NOT let it happen again! So--I have to speak more and ask more for the things I need.

I know that I will be back on track in January when my routine returns to normal. These 2 weeks will be WONDERUL cause they will be home but they will also be stressful since I will overeat and fall back into old habits. BUT I CAN DO IT....

I'm sure I didn't maintain during the trip to my son's. 10 days of eating foods with hidden calories. Sometimes we ate out three times in one day. Plus a naughty snack. But this time I didn't freak out about calories. I plan to weigh myself after I let myself get over the travel bloat.

Most days I got in 90-120 minutes of walking with my husband, who walks fast and gets me up to a 15 minute mile. We also hiked a trail, that was all uphill, in mud and rocks. 45 minutes up to a waterfall.

Yesterday I made the effort to get out for a walk in the cold; 40 degrees colder than we had in Hawaii. It was a brisk 44 degrees here when I went out at 4 in the afternoon. I also ate under my calorie range, but won't make a habit of that so I don't screw up my metabolism. I have overnight company coming today and they will be here for 4 days.

There's the potential for eating sweets. I will do my best to include them in my budget for calories. The hard thing is, I eat in response to the stress of having house guests. I do better with that than I used to, but last time they were here, whenever they weren't near the kitchen, but I was, I ate anything in sight. Well, I rummaged through the pantry and fridge too. I guess staying out of the kitchen is key. Wish me luck

Gen, I'd normally be all over a pushup/situp challenge, but my puppies are all over ME when I try to do them. One day!

Welcome, Amber! As you can tell from Celia's and my comments, wine, beer, and (mmmm!) vanilla cognac can be weaknesses. I was trying to overlimit myself on wine for a while, and beating myself up over it, but now I'm just being moderate and counting the alcohol calories in with the rest--still not going over my limit.

Glad you're here, Ambert!

Another close one on food yesterday, and I'm really glad I tracked. DH and I have discovered vanilla cognac and sometimes like to have it as a nightcap. However, after a fairly large dinner, I realized cognac would put me over, so I used the limit as my excuse to forgo. At first I groused to myself about it, but then I felt good for making the choice.

Did ST yesterday with my trainer. While I have been working up on the bench press (75 pounds is my max so far, low reps), I am still lower on flat dumbbell presses, because I have to lift the weights to start as opposed to gripping an overhead bar for the bench. I still can't get the 30s up without active spotting, so I won't do those without my trainer or DH with me. My trainer had to do only very light spotting yesterday, and I managed 4 reps, so I'm getting there.

I am so glad I came across this team from another member's post! I have been maintaining for 6 months now, but the last couple of months, I have really backslid...I am more active in SP again, measuring, weighing, and entering EVERYTHING. And, laying off the wine and good beers, again emoticon as that seems to play a big part in my gain. It leads to my snacking and overeating at dinner. I also was in a funk working out, but joined a new gym and yoga studio which is so motivating! So, if possible, I recommend that to anyone who is struggling with their fitness, to join a new facility! I loved my old gym and all the great trainers/teachers but my new place is closer to my house and again, just offers something new! Great to read everyones' triumphs and struggles!

Gen, congrats on conquering your Diet Coke addiction! As for the challenge, I probably would not contribute much, as I don't do push ups and sit ups every day.

Yesterday was a close one on calories, so if I missed logging anything, I probably went over, but I think I was thorough. Also, for the second day this week, I had no fitness, though my Fitbit, synced with SP, logged fitness points and calories. I kinda wish I hadn't synced, because logging my own fitness using the seemingly low number of calories SP assigned activities helped keep me accountable and forced me to do more to earn points. Now, the Fitbit logs my non-fitness steps as fitness minutes and points. Wonder if I can un-sync?

oh oh and as of today I'm two weeks free of diet coke! I've been an addict since age 19 and only ever stopped while pregnant (triggered by an inability to stand the taste very early on in each pregnancy). I headed for a cart in Price Chopper yesterday because I saw the diet coke slabs were on sale, it was a funny reminder.
