Been about 3 months since I last checked in. Still hanging around that 197-200 range, which is above where I'd like to be, and where I was prior to binging at Halloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Part of the problem was I blew out my ACL at the beginning of December, so I haven't been able to maintain the 2,000+ cardio regimen I had going (although I'm back up to around 1,500+, but I'm having reconstructive surgery on April 17th, so I'll be set back as I go through physical therapy).

The other part of the problem is I eat well at breakfast and lunch, but find myself eating bad selections for dinner, or eating late night chips and snacks, which wouldn't be bad, but it seems like it's every night.

So, figured I'd check in and start tracking my food again, just to get a handle on the late night snacks, and at least be aware of how many calories I'm taking in at night.

Good thing is, I've continued to keep my regular excercise schedule (when possible) and I've continued to drink 6-8 cups of water a day.

How long have you been maintaining? How many calories do you consume? How much do you workout? We are about the same size so I was thinking maybe I could help???? I eat from 1700 to 2200 calories a day and do 30 to 50 minutes cardio a day along with lifting 3 times a week. That doesn't include the walks I try to get in here and there. Maybe your body is still trying to adjust. What did you Dr. say to do?

If it works for you, then keep doing it! there is no reason not to track, unless you don't want to do it anymore.

I just wanted to check in again, I've been using Sunday as my "official" sparkpeople weigh in day and for the past 3 weeks it has been exactly the same, right in the middle of my goal range, so I guess I'm really doing well this month!

I've been at/below my first goal for 6 months now. Every once in a while I have a "pig out" day for the extra calories so I quit losing.

I'm also still tracking calories cuz I do *not* want to regain this weight. It's a funny thing trying to get the balance in both the body and the mind for "staying thin" - weird.

I read a SparkPage where the gal had lost 80? pounds in her 60's and was still tracking calories most of the time 10 years later. That gave me hope that I'm not neurotic for doing so - just careful to guard what I've worked so hard for.

I found this a problem too Kandk when I first started maintaining. It really is a balancing act and putting those extra calories onto the menu was very difficult but to stay healthy you do need to up the calories to maintain. Have you had a look at the menus SP recommends for you? It might give you some ideas on areas that you could fill to meet your calorie requirements.

I still don't see any difference between losing the weight and maintennance. I still need to do in maintenance everything I did while losing the weight.
I'm getting used to this idea and accepting it much better than before.

I worked hard in February to get closer to my ultimum goal weight of 149.
I'm now 2.9 pounds away from reaching it.

My goal is to get even closer to 149 in March.

Yes, I am at goal and maintaining my desired range. It is so nice to be able to eat freely again since I don't need to lose any weight. I just run every day to prevent weight gain...plus I feel great afterwards.

Well, I'm not thrilled to be the first to post that I'm NOT at goal. I've only been maintaining (or attempting to) for a couple of months and I don't have it down yet - not even close. It's hard to get out of the yo-yo mindset I always had before - you know, I've reached my goal so now I can celebrate by going back to my old habits. But I've taken the advice in the original post to evaluate what's going on and get myself back on track (I posted a blog about it) and in March my goal is to return to my healthy habits that allowed me to lose in the first place and get back to my desired maintenance range of 120-125. This is harder than I expected...

I actually found I had moved to New Orleans -- during Mardi Gras of all times-- and accidentally lost another five pounds. My new roomates were shocked when I said "No, I can't go to another parade, I got to hit the gym."

I'm kind of curious to see how much more I can progress. Kind of like weight loss limbo. :-)

I've been maintaing this for about 4 months now, after reclaiming my ground after I lost my mother. So I'm stoked I'm back where I should be, and even a bit better.

Very nice to be part of this group, by the way!
