Haven't strayed from the 119-121 window, but did exchange some of my healthy food for pumpkin pie for 4 days!! We were to have company on Christmas, but the ice storm transformed the street, my driveway, and walkway with a 2" thick slab of ice....couldn't get out or in...so, of course, I couldn't let my homemade pie go to waste... Oh well, it's gone now. Tomorrow will be a better day!!

So great to hear from you all! Troubles and successes. I have definitely struggled this season, the first in about 15 years that I have not been at least somewhat overweight. It is great to hear everyone motivated and moving along. I am trying to stay positive and keep on doing the healthy thing, making healthy choices.... Not easy. I keep remembering what my goals are and trying to remind myself that I am worth more than that treat sitting on the table calling to me...
Good luck everyone, thank you for all your support! You all rock!

I've managed to maintain but I think I have a built-in 'handicap' that has been helping me out. I had surgery earlier in the fall and something that was done while they had my stomach out of my body (not bariatric surgery, they were cleaning up house so to speak) seems to have made it impossible for me to overeat without causing BIG pain. The pain hits hard and fast when the tummy is full so I STOP!!
emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm not sure things will stay this way forever but for now it has made me be a very mindful eater. If I want a treat I have to work it into my 'allowed' amount. Problem is, by the time I get the necessary good stuff in I have to stop. Boo. Maybe I should start with the 'good' stuff. hehe

I'm just hoping that I can stay at goal over the next year. I'm sure going to try!

My weight has been all over the place this month, but I managed to get it back down into maintenance range for the end of the month.

So I was in maintenance range at the beginning of December and I am in maintenance range at the end of December.

Nevermind that my weight shot up to 140.0 somewhere in the middle of the month.... emoticon

Well, I've been offline for a few months, and basically I was keeping the weight around 193-195, so I wasn't too worried. I've been keeping up the weight training and the cardio, which has helped offset some of those late night snacks that were sneaking back in. But with all the Halloween candy, Thanksgiving meals and holiday parties, I've been putting on a few pounds and so I need to start paying attention to it doesn't get out of control.

My big problem is I blew out my knee playing racquetball a week and a half ago, so my cardio has gone way down as I try to rehab. Unfortunately my eating habits haven't compensated, but that's all right. Thanks to Sparkpeople, I know what I have to do.

I've been a bit over my range too lately, but have been slowly moving back down over the last 6 weeks so I'm pretty close and feeling pretty good about my official weigh-in tonight. My new job has been keeping me too busy to spend much time on the computer or get in any exercise although I am burning more calories at work. Hoping to get back to my routines at least by the end of the year.

No... and yes. Over the past several months, I've put some pounds back on and am no longer at goal. However, I'm not gaining any more. Right now that's "good enough", because I have a sprained ankle. That limits the exercise, so I am focusing on better food choices and proper portions for the time being.

About 5 lbs over... I took some time last night to review my food records for the past 6 months (never thought I would really do that, but am glad I saved them now...) found some mistakes I had been making in my tracking and remembered some good meals to eat when I am wishing for unhealthy food. Also reviewed my list of things I enjoy about being this weight rather than so much heavier! Today was much better, and I didn't feel like I was depriving my self... Hopefully I will stay on track now and drop that extra 5 or so....

Five months at goal! Woohoo!

I am a MARATHONER!!!
Tacoma City Marathon (3 May 09) - 3:49:13
... and I'm BOSTON BOUND!!!!
Capital City Marathon (16 May 10) - 3:36:52

...and instead of running Boston, I had a kid! And then 2.5 years later I had another one.
BUT, I've never stopped running or racing!

One of these days, I'll re-qualify for Boston. And tackle Goofy's Race and a Half. Maybe an ultra. Or a half Ironman...

This is a great idea! I'm *not* maintaining so well, I'm a bit over my maintenance range and hovering there for a few months now, and just seeing this question in the list gave me the same feeling as Mom asking me, a hundred years ago, "did you finish your homework?" LOL I am resolved *now* not after New Year's to move the numbers down!

The number on the scale is still higher than I prefer, but that could be a result of the weekend (and usually is!).

The pant size is at its lowest ever. Everyone keeps telling me I look like I've lost weight.

So, yes. Two YEARS of maintaining. YEARS!

emoticon Sorta/kinda anyway. LOL! I'm within my 5 pound range, but I was veering off track, I'm back in the saddle again though and intend to keep moving in the right direction. :)

God Bless and Hugs!

Hang in there!

I'm at the top of my 5 pounds range and glad to be on maintenance for 4 years and 150 days.
This month I'm going to work HARD on getting into the middle of my weight goal range.
Slow and steady wins the race!

I'll celebrate 10 years of maintenance on July 2nd, 2014!

How about having a fun "Staying at goal and maintaining" party during each month, right here, on this thread.
A NEW thread will start at the beginning of each month.

If you're within your maintenance range, WONDERFUL!
Celebrate it!

If not, ABSOLUTELY GREAT, because you cought it just in time! NOW! in DECEMBER 2008.
Evaluate what caused you to slip, the situation, and where it might have occured.
See that you can learn from your slip.

REMEMBER!!!
Slips should teach you, not defeat you!

Forgive! Forget! and Move on!

========================================

Important note!

If you're within any goals that you've set up for yourself for maintenance, it's time for a party!
