I am on the high end of my range but still within range. Now that all the Halloween parties and candy is gone I hope to get more in the middle of the range.

Hi everyone,
I am new to the team and just finished my first week of maintenance! emoticon

I did well this week (lost about .5 pounds) and managed to entirely avoid the 20 boxes of girl scout cookies in my office. I am proud emoticon

So I'm doing quite well at maintaining my weight it helps that I wt. train 3X week and do cardio between 3-4X week I stopped logging my food a long time ago but I still struggle with overeating I tend to eat more in the late afternoon and evening. I suppose it could be my lack of appetite in the morning, I just can't stomach much that early. The holidays are just around the corner and I fear gaining some wt. Overall I am becoming toned and have incorporated a healthy lifestyle.

Great job Sharon, and even with vacation!

My weight yesterday was 119 as well. I somehow found 3 pounds last week, but they were gone yesterday. I am starving today so hopefully I don't gain them back!

I have to report that I took a mini-vacation (about 5 days) last week, & I maintained my weight without any problem!

Weighed this morning at 119.2

However, I haven't been keeping my personal goal of 100 crunches & 10 modified push-ups. I've not been feeling very well for almost the whole month of October. I guess that I have allergies (for the 1st time in my life!). Watery nose, eyes & coughing - oh well. November is soon.....

Hi Gen and welcome to the team.

I'm on a teeter-totter this month. Grr! I'm staying within my range, but it's making me crazy going up and down so much. I need to stay closer to an even number. I guess maybe it's that time of year though, getting chillier outside and wanting more comfort food inside. I'm hanging in there though.

God Bless and Hugs!

Hi, I'm Gen and I'm new to the group.

Although I'm at my goal weight, I'm not at as toned as I'd like to be, so I still have a while to go. It takes many months and I figure I'll go up or down a couple of pounds when/if that ever occurs.

I've officially stopped logging calories, however I'm still calculating in my head and I've done it for long enough to know portion sizes, etc.

OK, so I've spent half of October stepping AWAY from tracking 90% of what I eat, and not only am I back in my maintenance range, but I'm also much happier and at ease with my eating as well.

So my next "At Goal" goal is to stay in this range for the remainder of the month :-)

And then come the holidays...

Yes, despite months of travel, restaurants, time zone changes, etc, I am still within my three pound goal range (at 127, range is 126-129). That puts me at over a year in this category! I've picked up some muscle, too.

Still tracking everything :)

I did go down to 121 and felt really toned and healthy and then I fell off the exercise wagon and gained 7 pounds. I feel heavy now but have started exercising again as of today.
I plan to get back to 124 and keep it there.
My clothes feel a better fit and my tummy looks trim at that weight.

the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.......

I've been at (or near) goal since June. I find it almost more challenging to maintain than to lose. For a while I was 4 pounds below goal, and didn't like what I saw in the mirror. Now, I'm back to within a half-pound of goal, and that's about right for me. Even after vacationing from Oct 2-8, I was able to keep my weight steady. Of course, the 3 days of bicycling on vacation didn't hurt, but I often gain weight even on those trips. MyFoodDiary.com and SparkPeople have really helped me find a way to control the ups and downs of my weight.

Hi - I just saw this thread - how great!

I got to my goal about the end of July, so about 2 months of maintaining.

Actually I've lost a little more - I'm at 121 now, & goal is actually 126. There still seems to be a little to pinch at the waist, behind the knees, etc., so I'm not concerned about loosing a little extra.

I was right: If I just get back on track (with SP guidelines & tools to help), my weight would return to maintenance range within a few days. (Can you say water retention from too many carbs and/or salt?)

And now I can say, Yes, I am at goal in Oct. 2008, and now I will work on maintaining that accomplishment.

The wagon will always wait for those who fall off. :-)

Not exactly at goal and maintaining, but hanging in there, and recommiting to October goals after a very difficult September!

Today, October 3 is my one year anniversary of reaching goal weight of 58 kilos. I weigh in on Mondays, but the last time I weighed, I was at 61.5 which is 3.5 kilos (about 8 pounds) over goal, and 1.5 (ca. 3.5 pounds) over maintenance range. That was just after my emergency trip to the States and, with all the comfort foods I ate during that time, I was amazed I hadn't gained more.

Anyhoo --- I'm back on the exercise band wagon and that's always my first step to weight loss. Today is the German national holiday, so I have the day free and want to get a nice, long Nordic walking tour in if the weather permits.

Congrats to UPICARD and all the other maintainers! We can do this!

LADY_DONKEY - I love your philosophy about maintenance. It's so true that once we get here, we already KNOW the basic skills needed maintain a healthy weight. It's just a matter of believing that and getting back on track as soon as we start to slip rather than panicking and letting things get out of control.

Congrats to everybody on their maintenance!

I am a MARATHONER!!!
Tacoma City Marathon (3 May 09) - 3:49:13
... and I'm BOSTON BOUND!!!!
Capital City Marathon (16 May 10) - 3:36:52

...and instead of running Boston, I had a kid! And then 2.5 years later I had another one.
BUT, I've never stopped running or racing!

One of these days, I'll re-qualify for Boston. And tackle Goofy's Race and a Half. Maybe an ultra. Or a half Ironman...

I'm not quite in my maintenance range to start off October. Maintenance has been quite a challenge for me! Haven't quite found that "balance" yet...

However, I know what to do, and I should be back in range by the end of this week or start of next week. So I am not worried. And maybe that's the biggest lesson to learn about maintenance - not to worry, just get back on track! :-)

I was almost 5 pounds above my lowest goal weight most of September and now down to 3 1/2.
I like the 5 pounds maintenance range. It works well for me.

This is the 3-year anniversary of me making my WW goal!!! emoticon

I'm still hovering at the high end of my range (but 5 pounds below the original goal) and, I've been really getting back on track with exercising and hope to see those mid-range numbers again soon! There will be a break for birthday celebrating this weekend and then back on the wagon!!

Way to go Maintainers!!! And, thanks Mimi for hosting this great party every month!!

Still in my maintenance range. Woohoo!

I actually gained about half a pound in the last two weeks, but I've been unable to do almost any cardio due to a rib cage injury. I seem to be improving quickly now and have faith that this will stop as soon as life is back to "normal".

Maintaining, healthily pregnant, or healthily breastfeeding since

I'm hanging in there. Lost 2 pounds I didn't mean to lose last month. Must be all the stress of my mother's health (she had a stroke last weekend) and my son's self esteem issues. Hopefully everything levels out around the house and I get back to maintaining instead of losing.

Party time for me....celebrated my 70th birthday last week! Still keeping up with the cardio and strength training, weight is well below goal. Average calories per day for September were 1838. Hurray for exercise, eating right and SP!!

I'm borderline. I'm healthy by way of activity. My skinny clothing fits beautifully. The weight is up a bit higher than I like.

But I'm gonna keep on keepin' on!!! :)

How about having a fun "Staying at goal and maintaining" party during each month, right here, on this thread.
A NEW thread will start at the beginning of each month.

If you're within your maintenance range, WONDERFUL!
Celebrate it!

If not, ABSOLUTELY GREAT, because you cought it just in time! NOW! in OCTOBER 2008.
Evaluate what caused you to slip, the situation, and where it might have occured.
See that you can learn from your slip.

REMEMBER!!!
Slips should teach you, not defeat you!

Forgive! Forget! and Move on!

Important note!

If you're within any goals that you've set up for yourself for maintenance, it's time for a party!
