Watch your sodium intake today and over the next few days (in addition to drinking plenty of water, as others have said). A great way to do that is to eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies. That will help you feel better and flush out some of that extra fluid.

BSMOMMY, I agree with the PP that you should up your water intake and that might make a difference. I drink at least 12 glasses of water a day which is 96 ounces. I know some people say that water isn't that important, but drinking that much really makes a difference for me and I feel better, am less hungry and don't have a problem with water retention. You could try increasing your intake even by a few glasses and see if that helps.

60 ounces isn't even 8 glasses of water, which I thought was kind of like the minimal amount that people should be drinking daily anyways (although there seems to be some debate as to the benefits of drinking 8 glasses of water a day). So I guess by "lots" of water, I was figuring like 10-12 glasses of water (8oz or 1 measuring cup of water per "glass").

Hmm... Well, maybe try some weak tea. Or if the swelling around the ankles is excessive or excessively uncomfortable, consult your doctor. Especially if it's ongoing.

I retain water around my ankles. It is so frustrating! I drink 60+ ounces of water a day and nothing seems to help.

I made the mistake of eating Italian Tapas last night and now my hands and feel are swollen like little sausages. Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of it?
Do I just have to wait it out?
