Thank you to all who have given me such a warm welcome and even left me SparkGoodies and comments on my page!

I met my weight goal 4/12 this year, losing 80+ lbs over approximately 3 years. So right now I'm in my six weeks of maintenance, and very much still learning about maintenance mode. I have some books on my shelf that I'll be reading --- and hopefully blogging my way through --- to help me get my 'head in tune with my body', you know, no longer think of myself as the fat lady. It seems we're quick enough to buy new clothes that fit but getting our mental self-image adjusted takes a bit loner. I also have at least one book ("Winning After Losing" by Stacey Halpern) about maintenance that I want to read and blog through. Stay tuned to my blog posts --- maybe you'll find something helpful.

Honestly, one of the biggest things that helped me through the last and toughest part of weight loss was reading and commenting on other blogs, as well as blogging myself. I think this will hold true for maintenance as well, and lifetime membership. Of course we don't get quite the same level of interest and support at our WeightWatcher meetings because let's face it, they're not making nearly as much money from us as when we're in weight loss mode. That makes it all the more important to support and encourage one another.

I am hoping that accepting leadership of this team will be one more impetus for me to stay on track and maintain my loss. Most of you realize that I'm very new to this team, still looking around, but I do plan to post more and definitely read more.

Someday I mightlike to be a weight loss/lifestyle consultant or counselor, whether it's working for a gym or at WW or in some other way. I'm a nurse in a nursing home, working full time and then some on the 2-10:30PM shift. Although I'm not new to nursing, I am new to this job and nursing in this setting --- and have some home life challenges as well. I'll do my best to pop in daily on At Goal and Maintaining.
