Good tips! I like to check out the restaurant web site ahead of time to make my choice - if they don't have a menu, or don't have a good choice, I like to call ahead and see if they will make what I want to eat.

Order hot tea to sip while others are having their appetizer.
Ask them to take the bread away if you can! Talk to your friends/family ahead of time, and see if they are willing to take their bread and send the rest back to help you stick to your eating plan.
Don't go out to eat with anyone who says to you, "C'mon, one bite won't hurt"!
* Don't Skip other meals. * Decide ahead what to order, Be the first to place your order. * Compensate for big meals. ie: If you have a big lunch out, have a smaller supper. Maybe a bowl of cereal and a salad or cereal and fruit. * Be select and savy. Stay away from anything with the words, breaded, alfredo, fried, cream. Instead look for words like steamed or broiled or baked. Keep the bread basket either off the table completely, or if not possible, at the other far end of the table from where you are sitting!
Be aware of what you are ordering. Ask to have it the way you wnat it fixed..the healthier way.
