I have been watching and cutting my carbs as well!!! I notice I can be feeling great for about 3-4 days and then my body craves a few extra carbs!!! I usually have a bowl of high fiber cereal or some other whole grain and I'm fine!!! I am starting to listen to my body instead of my head which makes me feel guilty!!! No reason to be mad, your body knows best!!!

About the same, except I am conciously cutting down on carbs, except for today, when I had a low blood sugar attack...carbs are allowed then. Then it makes me mad,because I feel like I've blown the whole thing.

I imagine you are logging your food, does that tell you what percentage is from carbs? I tend to be a carb lover, and when I was logging, I tried to keep track of that, so I would have a good ratio between the different macronutrients. I noticed a lot of time I was really high in fats, I love nuts and avocado, and if I get both, that number goes too high.

I think a good thing to do w/ carbs is to look for whole grains, and try to get more of that.

How is the plateau busting going so far?

Funny thing. I have what looks like a slight increase in calories, but I still, even if I stuff myself, cannot reach the low end of the calories. That made me think even more than yesterday of the quality of the food I had been eating before...this kind of food really does some good!!

I finally got out of the 1200-1550 rut, now I have 1300-1650. So far, I've been able to eat half the calories at the lower end. I think I'll be adding nuts. lol But, something makes me feel funny about having so much to eat. But, before I went on the sparkdiet, that was nothing but I got all those calories from nutrition lacking foods. Thanks all..your life savers.

There are some great plateau buster articles on the site, that may have been the article you were referring to. Changing up your workouts may help too, getting to a higher intensity, interval training, should boost your metabolism and kick start your loss if that is your goal.

Hi Fran, if you feel like you're having trouble getting all your calories in for the day, try snacking on nuts and seeds. They are calorie dense and very filling and great for you. They also have efa's that will help your body burn more fat, which could help you break out of that plateau.

From your start page, scroll down to My Spark Diet. You will see My Goal.

Go From XXX to XXX by XX/XX/XXXX change
Consume between XXX and XXX calories per day change
Burn XXX calories per week change

Click on change next to Burn XXX calories!!! That will take you to the page to change your fitness goals.

Hope that helps with that part!!!

I'm not happy with the 160 lbs. that my dr. said to stop at, but it seems that I can't go any lower...I must be on a plateau..an article said to redo the fitness set-up, the original one that said how much activity you do normally that we filled out at the very start but I never could find that. I got a few more calories , by tweaking, which I find difficult to eat in the first place. I have to snack all day to get any calories in me. Does anyone know where this beginning setup is and have any suggestions for my very confused diet?
