Thanks everyone! I have been experimenting a little (very little) and lost a little more, and otherwise keeping up with everything thats the main thing, as far as exercise and eating healthy!

Do listen to what your body is saying, if you are eating healthy food and don't feel hungry then you are probably getting what you need. As long as your able to maintain that way, it sounds like you have found a plan that works for you!

You're doing great, Anna! I can identify with your situation, too. I thought 1800 calories sounded like SO MUCH FOOD, but I'm doing well averaging at 1600. I'm eating pretty much the same healthy foods and the same portions, just got to watch indulging in sweets, especially with Christmas coming up!

Isn't it so neat to have learned the skill of listening to your body? I never knew how to do it before SP! Keep that up!

I know me too! I feel totally self-indulgent eating calories I don't feel I need! Plus I do like to listen to my body and if its not hungry then I don't really WANT to eat! I eat a lot of healthy food so I think thats why I don't feel hungry.

I'm working on the same thing, finding the right calories for maintaining. I just reached my goal a couple weeks ago and also have a 5 pound leeway. I'm trying to add in 100 calories a day, let my bod adjust to that, then try for another 100, while keeping an eye on my weight. The problem I'm having is that I'm so used to eating less that most days I'm not eating those extra calories, I'm not hungry enough. I'm still experimenting.

I believe that there is a few things that come into play when one increases the amount of calories you eat.

one of then is that if you increase (lets say) the amount of carbs you eat your body will hold on extra fluid to store those carbs so really when you see the scale go up. it's not fat that is being added on, it's more than likely water.

I know, either way the extra weight registering on the scale is no fun to see.

I have a feeling that if you gradually increase those calories (like already stated) by a couple hundred, you may see a tiny weight gain but it should also level off and may go back down to your goal weight/range in no time.

Thanks! That does make sense, I feel good with what I am eating not hungry or anything, but will gradually up it a little and see what happens!

You should be able to add about 200 calories and maintain but, it may depend on what foods you eat and it may take a bit of time for your body to adjust. What they told me at Weight Watchers was to add up to 4 points (1 pt being about 50-55 calories) by eating extra fruit, veggies and/or protein and it could take 4-6 weeks to get adjusted to the increase so there could be some weight fluctuation while finding the correct balance.

I am dealing with this too. Trying to figure out if my body needs more calories to help me lose those last few pounds. Our bodies are constantly changing so what might work one week (or month) will change!
Good luck and you'll figure it out!

Hey, you look fabulous!

I'm kinda in the same boat... want to stay within 5 lb. up or down from my goal weight, and I have been sticking pretty much to the 5lb. up level!

I figure this is the "it's a lifestyle" part... figuring out how to eat healthy in a way that keeps me from feeling hungry all the time.

Good luck to you!

I really have not changed anything since I hit maintenance mode, and eat 1300-1500 calories, when I did eat a little more I instantly gained! I am ok with what I am eating and am relaxing a little more, and still maintaining, I am not going to try increasing again until I get to 135 and have a 5 lb buffer but then am not sure what to do as I seem to be stuck at the calorie range I am eating at, and normally calorie cycle within that range. I am still exercising a lot and do strength, I think I just need to get my metabolism used to eating a little more somehow soon!
