I'm dragging a friend out to lunch next week. She's missing half of her staff (okay, 1 of 2) who is on maternity leave, it's budget crunch time, and she's entirely overwhelmed by her regular job... so I'm taking her out of her office so that she can take a break....
I wake up every day with the realization that this is it, that there's only one shot at this life and I can either enjoy the ride and live it to its fullest and to my highest potential or I can stay the way I am.
I like that!! I personally have so much heaped on me at this time, even a wedding (my son's) that I was lamenting the fact that I wouldn't be able to celebrate Christmas the way it should be, and I don't mean just heaps of presents or decorations, I will make sure that there's time for me in there.

Nancy is so right! I know that I sometimes neglect doing things for me (minus the exercising, but I have to get up at 4:30 to get that in!!!) so I might try to make a list of things to do for me everyday -- even if it is something small. Thanks for posting this!
MIMI - I think that is fantastic and so simple. We as women tend to forget what we want! As you take on my roles such as mom or a significant other in a relationship what we want falls at the waist side. I find I am a better mom, a better wife, a better daughter, a better friend, a better pet owner when I am happy. My household runs more smoothly also.
Thanks for the reminder. I am making sure I have time for me everyday -- even around all the trips to the mall for Christmas shopping and holiday giving.
