Wow, I haven't posted in a long time. My food is not going so well and I feel it is a good time for me to jump back on here awhile and be more accountable.

I would like to invite you local folks to join me sometime in one of my classes I teach. I have so much fun teaching. There is nothing like a group fitness class to have a great time and sweat.

I am at Fit One Gym in Ooltewah, 6857 Mountain View Road 37363. You don't have to join to come to classes, first one is free and just $5 after that.

Monday : 9am, circuit class set to some awesome music
4:45pm, ZumbAtomic (kids Zumba, ages 4-12)
6pm, Zumba (all fitness levels)

Tuesday : 5:30pm Zumba
6:30pm Yoga

Wednesday: Sizzling Senior Circuit - a circuit class geared toward those over 60 or those just returning to exercise or too heavy to do a regular circuit class

Friday: 10 am Silver Sneakers - muscle strength and range of motion (over 60)
11:15am Zumba Basic (a bit slower music than nighttime but a wonderful class for any level)
5:30pm - Zumba

Some of us got together a few years ago and walked the Strides of March for Chattanooga CARES. There is always a charity walk going on around town. I tried jogging/walking the Riverbend 5K this year for the first time. I've decided I'm just too heavy to do much running on my knees, but I'm always walking or riding my bike. I prefer early in the morning to avoid the masses.

I think new members is what perks up a team.

As time goes by the people who stick with it go to the things that help them. In my case it is the fitness trackers and a occasional article.

I show up nearly every day to get my log in points, make a huddle wall post, and every once in a while blog. I do browse most blog entries, and comment on some.

Other than that, this is everything I need it to be. I don't really need support to do what I am doing. It's up to me to get it done. Nobody else can do it for me, so I don't need a lot of chit chat support.....but, that's just me. I know some are different, and when i see them reaching out, I try to help.

But no, I am not going to participate in a group picnic or anything like that . It's not that I wouldn't like to meet some of you folks.

I walk from the dam. M-Th I start at 5:50am and go for a 6 mile walk. On S-S I usually start out about 6:30-7 and go for a 8 mile walk. I am the goofy guy who wears cargo shorts and white t-shirt, carry a towel and bottle of water, and have my balding head shaved down to a burr.

Oh...Fri is my off day or make-up day.

Expect to win.

I don't know how long I have been on in this group, probably as many years as I have been on SP, but I have always wondered that. I'll post something to try to get people talking and it just dies, so I admit I haven't put any more effort into it. I'd love to see it liven up.

I'm actually more active in the summer time! I started going to Meetup.com and found a group that does yoga, and a hiking group, and things like that. Tonight in Coolidge Park is a free yoga class at 7:30pm (I'll be there!) It is a relaxing energizing class and caters to newbies (I've only started doing yoga in the last 4 weeks). Just posting things and letting people know what is going on around town for exercise or just socializing and being a ear to listen or a motivation. All these things would help re-energize this group! Good luck and hope to see more post of things happening! :-)

I know that it is summer and we all have busy schedules, but that can always be an excuse. I would like to hear from each of you what we could do to re-energize this group and get us active again.

That which does not kill us makes us stronger!
