We have been getting a lot of free treats from our puppy training class, and I only actually give my CHarlie about 1/3 of them. I don't feed him anything I wouldn't eat myself. If it seems suspect, I don't give it.

We just avoid giving our dogs any of that stuff. The only treats they get are the old Milkbone dog biscuits. Not sure if I've ever seen them recalled.

As of today, add Cadet chicken jerky to the recall list. It's just their chicken jerky that's an issue.

Making ones own chicken treats sounds like a VERY good idea!

i think we shoud boycott the china made jerkey, too many dog health problems with that crap. trooper loves chicken jurkey, so we have learned how to make our own by cutting up chicken breasts onto thin strips and then using a food dehydrater. no spices added. (we keep it in the fridge). it's more expensive to make, but no worries. alec

Thank goodness, I never give that sort of stuff to our dogs. I boil up pkgs. of chicken livers and gizards and feed them that besides good dog food.

I hate this crap that's always being recalled.

To my knowledge we have never had a recall of dog food or dog treats here in Australia. I do know we have quite a few regulations governing this business ...... thank goodness

Yeah, usually, it's been for salmonella. This is for antibiotic residue. They're branching out. emoticon emoticon
