I have had my Omron for 3 yrs. Only need to replace the battery now and then and it isn't often.

I got an Omron Walking Style last year about this time. I haven't used it in forever because I keep forgetting to attach it to my jeans, but I never had a problem wth it like I did all the others I had. You have to set your step length and then it is okay. I got it from the pharmacy at Kings (Krogers or City Market). I think, after picking it up just now, that it needs a battery or else I have to reset the steps, because something on there is flashing and it isn't picking up steps right now, but otherwise it has worked great.

I've had my Omron for over a year now. Original battery, with the leash attachment I haven't lost it yet. It works great. Never resets it's self accidentally. Am totally pleased with it and highly recommend this one. Omron HJ-112. Cost me around $25 Can.

I have purchased 10 pedometers throughout my adult life and none of them have worked past a couple of months. i have spent between $10-20 for each. i won't buy another one, since they don't last long. usually, they just quit working (battery dies or the display dies or the buttons don't work). I bought one of the Omrons and it was always falling off and the display died in a couple of months.

I like the fishing line idea. I have to keep my pedometer clipped to my jeans. My Hound was always hitting it, and it was falling off. Now it's snug as a bug.

Thanks for the link. Mine is an HJ150, and I've just secured that slippery little sucker with a paper clamp and piece of 12# fishing line. It fell off my waistband 3 times yesterday, so my makeshift leash should slow that down. I figure when I ultimately do lose it, I'll replace it with the 112. I like that the 112 doesn't have to be vertical. Mine does. I had no idea that Omron made so many different models!

Jeanne, where did you find the Omron? Mine is a Walmart purchase and I'm not happy with it. Will be looking again!

I have a Omron HJ-112 as well. I love it. I bought Pedometers from Walmart, and Target before I bought the Omron. The other Pedometers were of cheap quality and didn't last long at all. The Omron might cost a bit more, but well worth the money.

Good to know! I have recently gotten a New Balance pedometer and it loves to count anything it can. Some days I know it is at least close but others when I have a down day of activity, it still counts my movements not steps! May look at that one. emoticon

Thanks for the leash tip, Maryann! I just got my third pedometer - the first two just didn't work worth beans. One was an older Omronn (7 yrs or so ago), the other New Balance. The new one is an Omron that has a 7-day memory, and wow, is it accurate! Only problem - it did not come with a leash and I've already had it pop off my waistband twice. However, there is a small hole in the top of the clip and I'm gonna make my own leash for it!

Hi there,
I have an Omron HJ-112CANN(113) I think it's great. It comes with a belt clip (which I don't use) and a clip on leash. The leash is a must have! I find all the belt clip types are WAY to easy to lose. They can get knocked off so easily. I just clip the leash (which I shortened) to my waist band and tuck it inside my pants or shorts. Has never came off. You don't have to worry about accidentally pushing a wrong button and having everything from the day erased. It automatically resets to zero at midnight and holds your info for 7 consecutive days. It's easy to setup and shows steps, mileage, cals burned. I highly recommend this one.
Hope this helps.
