We adopted our dog from the shelter, she is amazing! Luckily for us her owners were decent enough to surrender her to the shelter after their other dogs got a little rough with her and she lost her eye. I thank God every day that those dogs did that...sounds odd, but she is such a gift and if not for that who knows what her life would have been like since it started out on such a bad note.

Bless you all for taking in either strays or dogs from shelters. We actually just found one so I guess that 2 month old puppy was a stray. Our last guy was an abandoned dog. They have both been incredible pets and enriched our lives.

I took in two strays in June. Both boys around a year old. Schnauzer/mix? They are great dogs and get along with my 3 Maltipoos. No more dogs for me I am over my limit by two. The groomer had a ball with all 5 dogs at the same time....LOL Lorraine
I adopted a border collie mix from Stray Rescue in St Louis and she is just a gem. I love her and she is so well behaved. This organization is super, they do SO very much for animals in the St Louis area.
