Thunderstorm here today. Put the thundershirt on my dog, he was still frightened, but not totally trembling as he usually is. He went in the bathroom and stayed in the shower till it was over. He also got over it sooner. I guess that's progress for us.

I am SO glad I bought Thundershirts for my dogs! We sold our house. The closing was today. This week has been crazy with movers, cleaning, now we're perched at a friend's house, and tomorrow we hit the road bright and early for a 3-day car trip to reach our destination. I've used their shirts a lot this week.

My dogs are currently wearing their Thundershirts. We've visited this friend before, and they're usually a bit out of control - manageable - but I have to monitor them and help them contain their energy. In their shirts, they're relaxed and just good company here in the midst of us without my monitoring and controlling their energy.

Thanks to everyone who posted their good reviews!

Woo Hoo!! for the thundershirt helping your dogs with the storm! I used mine to train my dog Jenny to relax in the car when we go places and after awhile she didn't need it anymore. I don't know. Something about it seems to work!

A thunderstorm woke me in the night. It didn't come right over us, but kind of skimmed along us. I put my pups in their new Thundershirts, and after a few laps around the house of anxious pacing, they settled down on the rug at the end of the bed (their normal sleeping spot) and rested/slept through. WOOT! It's a good start.

Our Thundershirts arrived, and they fit my dogs very well (a medium and a large). Thunderstorms are in the forecast for this evening, so we'll have a chance to test them right away.

I am hoping the shirt will calm him sooner than normal. I think this area just happens to be in a spot where wind is more strong. And thunder!..I have seen it hit the ground. I don't know if our house being tall(2 story) makes it worse.

I don't know of ANYTHING that will help when the storm is right on top of you and it feels like it's going to come through the roof. :( Sorry your fur baby had to go through that. Try it again when the storm isn't quite as close to the house though.

We had a horrible thunderstorm last night, right on top of our house , it seemed. The thundershirt did not help this time.

Thanks everyone! We don't have a pet store nearby, so I ordered directly from Thundershirt.

Yes, They are adjustable. If you do have a petsmart you can return them if they don't work. They will let you put them on in the store. I guess other pet stores might do the same. Good luck.

Merrick ranges in sizes med-large, but he actually fit the small thundershirt the best. We did try it on in the store, he actually wore it out lol. They are mean to fit snug, and are adjustable.

They're pretty adjustable with lots of velcro strips. I didn't try Jens on in the store, but I guess I got the right size. There's kind of a lot of give and take with the sizing though.

How easy/difficult was it to get the right size? Did they let you try it on in the store?

My dog who could benefit from a Thundershirt is long and lean with an athletic build. I had a very hard time finding a dog pack that would fit, and it took some modification to get it right.

I did buy a thundershirt for my dog Patrick and it totally worked. If you look under General team discussion, Fireworks, You will see how happy I am that something finally worked for him. When we do have a thunderstorm I will try it then also. emoticon

I have also been wondering about this. The commercials almost seemed too good to be true. Glad to know that it actually worked for you! My dog, Carl, is terrified of storms and riding in the car. This could come in handy. Thanks for the review!

I heard it works for thunder, but was interested to see it works for car rides! Thanks for that info, going to pass it along to my nephew who has a Scnoodle who HATES to ride in the car; but has to, because they travel quite a bit! emoticon

I bought one for my schit tzu because he would anxious in the car and and in public. He does seem calmer when he wears it and he loves wearing it. No fussing to put it on....he comes running with his tail wagging. I would like to see how it works during a thunderstorm, but we haven't had any for a long time. (Praying for rain)

I have heard of this product and am considering it for my cocker spaniel; she goes bonkers during thunderstorms and think it would be worth a try. Before we adopted her she was an "outside" dog (not even sure they provided a dog house for her). We got her when she was 2 and she became an "inside" dog (we have a doggie door so she can go out as as she pleases). I thought it was funny when we went thru our first storm with her since she had spent the previous 2 years outside. Could be she had a bad experience during that time, who knows! Anyway, I think this would be worth it if it gives her any relief.

What a great idea. I will get one for Hobo in the next few months. Right now he has no fear of anything but in the future I want him to be on airplane rides and I am very worried about that. If anyone has anything to add for airplane rides be a doll and post it here. Today it is exactly one month since our sweet Badi died and I will think about him a lot today.

So glad you posted. We have ordered one for Maddie a couple days ago and are waiting on delivery. I am glad some have found help with it. She is a mess when I am not home and it is getting pretty bad. She is tearing up a metal crate and it is going to hurt her. So, I am glad others found relief with it and I hope we do as well.

My collie Radar is a rescue. When I got him 6 1/2 years ago he was terrified of people, sounds, storms, fire crackers, etc. He has come a long way but still fears storms, fire crackers and fire works. I have the anxiety wrap and the thunder shirt. The thunder shirt is less expensive and much easier to fit and put on and take off.
I do think they help Radar somewhat. They work wonders on some dogs but not all. The only way you'll know for your dog is to try it. The cost is low enough, it's worth the try.

Yep. That's the same reason I bought one for our coonhound mix Jenny. She was terrified of car rides and used to shake and drool. I was like you, a little skeptical at first, but the minute I put it on her she seemed instantly calm. We've used it a few times on car trips and she's actually at the point now where we don't need it every trip. She actually seems to look forward to riding in the car now! So glad that you had a great experience too!

I don't know if you guys have seen the commercials for the Thundershirt that they play all the time on tv. At first I thought I didn't think to much of it. But seeing my furbaby tremble and shake every car ride that is longer then 5 minutes made me think twice. Its a bit of an investment (at least for us, its 40ish bucks). However, since we are planning to move fairly soon, we figured we should give it a shot, since that involves, cars, planes, and strangers. We put it on him right outside Petsmart today. He looked like he lost 4 lbs of fluff! lol I watched him the whole drive around town. Not one shake, pant, or pace around the back seat! I was really surprised! The drive home takes good 45 min on a good day. Today it took about an hour with all the rain and in the wind. Merrick did so good! I'm super happy so far! Have any of you experienced this, or anything like it?
