The shake can never worked with mine. Maltese are very hard headed and they aren't really into pleasing their owner. They are cute and soft and very blonde. I have had better luck with a product called Pet corrector. It is a spray can that makes a hissing sound. My dogs stop barking or jumping on me if I even have the can in my hand now. Lorraine

Have you ever seen her dig? or caught her in the act? if so, what I did with Oreo was make a shakey can (use a dry soda can and put about 10 pennies in it and cover with duct tape). When I'd catch her, I'd shake the can and then tell her no.

Two things have helped at my house. 1. put dog poop in the holes. 2. I keep the dogs inside while I am watering the yard. They love to dig in the mud. I water at night and by morning water has soaked into the ground. Create a 3x3 (or bigger depending on dog size) foot sandbox and bury toys and some treats in it. You can't stop the digging but you can redirect it to an acceptable outlet. You may have to show your dog where to dig by starting to "dig" there yourself.

How do you get a dog to stop digging holes? Everytime I have to spend a Saturday at the office, Kaysia digs multiple holes in the yard. The yard is right outside my office door and she has tons of toys and bones to keep her occupied. She is up to about 11 holes and my maintenance man just keeps adding gravel to the holes. I keep my door open to the yard.
