i recently started using the DoTerra essential oils. I use PastTense on my muscles, put peppermint on my temples and a drop on the roof of my mouth. I also use frankensence oil if the peppermint and past tense needs more of an oomph. I have one other thing, i have a rub, from doterra, called deep blue. It is a muscle rub for arthritis and the like and it really helps when all else fails. I try to stay hydrated, so i keep a gallon of water with lemon slices in it, at all times in the fridge and i drink several glasses a night. I switch between lemon and oranges. It makes all the difference, as i had to give up all things aspertame. I am now afraid to drink anything with splenda as well, so the lemon water is refreshing and enjoyable. I only have caffeine in the morning, one glass of half caf coffee. i avoid triggers like the plague now. (except for today) I am hoping that soon, very soon, all these things will make the headaches from hades go away for longer than a few days...

Dramatically reducing sodium, and staying well hydrated. (Prevents/reduces the attacks.)
I don't know if it directly impacts my migraines, except that it reduces my sinus headaches that trigger my migraines. For many years I had no idea that being dehydrated was one of the main cuplrits (even as I recognized low blood sugar as being another, I didn't link not eating to not drinking).
