Thank you all. I actually had a great birthday. I did think about my mom because she always made this day special. My department at work gave me a party, they decorated my space and brought in food which was wonderful. It was a great day. I came home and my sweetie sent me flowers and my nephew and his family and other friends called in the evening. On Friday I went to my nephews and we had a great time. Evan was so cute and just wanted to sit by his Aunt. It was wonderful. Last night I went out with friends for my birthday and that was nice. Today I'm just relaxing because it is back to work tomorrow.

All of our "firsts" are tough. My first Mother's day and my birthday without my mom was tough. She was with me at birth and my first birthday without her hit home.

I do hope you have a great one with your family. I know what you have been dealing with regarding your sister. Don't let her actions and choices ruin your day. Make it a memorable one!!

Well tomorrow I turn the great age of 64 and will retire one year from this August. I'm looking forward to it. I'm going to teach piano and volunteer a lot. This is my first birthday without mom and she always made my day special. She made all of our birthdays very special. I probably won't hear from my sister but that is fine. She has made her own life and has been in the hospital every week since July. She comes home and drinks until she is out of money. She is acutally killing herself and doesn't get it. Oh well. My nephew and his family have invited me over on Friday to celebrate and that will be great. Tomorrow I'm going to work come home and enjoy a great dinner.
